Aaaah, Arufu loved the mud. He was in a more shallow area right now, trying to see if he could keep his balanced as he moved across the mud. It would be nice if he made sure he wouldn't slip and hurt himself. If he could do this, just think of some of the mud spots he could waddle his way too!
He was very carefully moving across when...whoops! He slipped, falling right on his rump. "Owww," he groaned as he rolled himself onto his side. Well, so much for learning anything today. With a slight throbbing he decided to just lay in the shallow stuff until he was ready to move on to a more deep area.
Nothing beat mud!

Tia Rangi had decided it was time he went exploring around the Jini-msemi Swamplands to get a feel for the place he was settling down in. too his horror, it took some skill to be able to wander in the muddy swamp lands. slipping and sliding around, he looked like a silly fool as he slowly made his way around carefully since he didn't want to fall flat on his face.
the second he heard someone go 'Owww', he was quickly distracted in trying to figure out who said it so he could see if they were ok. but as he looked around , he lost his footing and started flailing around til he fell sprawled out onto the ground with a groan. " Damn it......."

Arufu's rump still felt sore when he thought he heard another unfortunate soul slip. Really, he loved the mud, so why did it have to be so hard on him?! And on everyone else that wanted to enjoy it??
Shakily, he got himself up onto his paws, walking carefully to where he heard the voice. His pink eyes noticed the intriguing coat patterns first...and the situation that he was in second.
"Oops, yeah. The mud is like, extra slippery over here, sorry dude." He didn't really know why he was apologizing, but it felt right. He did feel a little bad, maybe his own slip screwed up this dude's concentration.

when the other male came over, he tried to get to his feet as quick as possible so that he wouldn't look like some fool. to his horror, he only managed to flail around again and fall with front legs sprawled forward with his chin in the mudd. " yeah .... it seems i am learning how slippery mudd can be the hard way."
normally he was calm, cool and collected but it seemed today was not that day. once he carefully got to his feet, he could only laugh at himself since he felt so stupid for flailing about and falling in front of someone he didn't know. " at lest i know its not just me that is falling around in the mudd. and here i thought it was just because i'm new around here that i was falling in the mudd alot."

"It's a bit worse over there than some spots," Arufu began. "Like, there's less plants, so there's not much to grip onto with your paws." A bit of mud was slwoly dripping off of his stomach, making soft splat sounds as it hit the ground below. Not much of a mud bath today, but he could try to take another one later.
"Well, I've been here all my life and some spots are still pretty tricky," Arufu laughed. "How long have you been here? I'm Arufu by the way, a pleasure to meet you!" Even if he was muddy...which only pushed him up in Arufu's books. Mud = winner!

he had quite a bit of mudd now splattered all over him, which he didn't mind really at all. after all if he was going to live in the swamps he was going to have to not have a care about getting muddy or dirty. " it is a pleasure to meet you too Arufu. i'm Tai Rangi and i only been here for a few days." Tai Rangi was relieved that Arufu seemed so laid back and carefree. " and thanks for the tip about the tricky spots having less plants to grip on. i wouldn't have realized that was the reason since i never really lived in this area." grinning, he was glad to be making a friend or at lest he felt he was making a friend with them both dripping with mudd.

"You'll get used to the mud," Arufu laughed. "Plus its nice in keeping some of the bugs off of you." That was...part of the reason he always told others when asked why he enjoyed being in the mud so much. His pale fur kind of stuck out a bit too, and the mud helped him blend in more with the surroundings of his home.
"Are you enjoying your stay so far?" Arufu asked, genuinely curious. He always liked to hear what non-natives had to say about the swamps.

"well i'm glad the mud has more use besides making you dirty." Tai rangi grinned, despite the mud still dripping off his mainly white coat. " even though i have only been here for a short time, it has been quite an experience living here." he had no problem being open and honest even to a someone he just met. " of course there are things i will have to get use to and i will definitely will have to learn to walk in mud better." chuckling, he never was going to forget how he first met Arufu. "but over all the swamp is an amazing place and i'm truly enjoying myself since this is the first place i have ever decided to call home." giving a sheepish smile, he wondered if he was talking too much now.

Arufu laughed. "Well, you'll get used to it soon enough. I bet you'll love it as much as me, with how well you're taking to it." He had seen some other outsiders who did not like the mud, and were having a hell of a time adjusting. It was nice seeing this guy melting into it so well.
"Well, I'm certain you'll be able to find more than just me that enjoy the mud so much! Have you gotten to know anyone else so far?"

"well it certainly doesn't feel bad at all. i can't see why anyone would dislike mud at all." Tia Rangi was pleased he was finally really getting to learn about the swamp lands and those who lived in them. " i actually haven't really gotten to know anyone really well just yet. " he was a bit embarrassed to admit that he had yet to really get to really know anyone in the pride very well. " though i am hoping to change that soon. but i think at lest i made some progress getting to know others by meeting you today." at lest he thought it was some small progress in getting to know the pride members and the lands.

"They like to be clean, which is..." Well, he glanced around at all the dampness and mud around them. "Pretty impossible. It works great for you and me, though, that love it!" Arufu laughed.
"Well, let me know if you get a little lonely, I'm sure we can get a group together to go check out some of the better mud holes." Heck yeah, this one wasn't even the best one, either. Not even close. "Easy way to meet others, too."

" yeah it truly would be crazy to try to stay perfectly clean here. plus the mud is fun even when you end up slipping around in it." Tia Rangi laughed with Arufu and was definitely enjoying his company. " that would be great! if you are sure that's not too much of a bother to do that sometime." he felt silly for worrying about trying to gain friends and adapt to his new home. after meeting Arufu all his worries seem to just go away. " i also hope i am not keeping you from anything. i probably taken up a lot of your time chit chatting." with all their talking, he had almost totally forgotten about what he had come out here to do and realized he probably was keeping Arufu from whatever he wanted to do.

"Never, dude! I would love having a mud partner. I don't think too many of the mothers around here like it that I'm a walking mudball. I'm going against their need to keep their cubs clean," he laughed. Arufu did the best he could, but just couldn't resist that mud!
"I'll probably be easy to spot, so if you want to hang out another time I would be alll up for that. It was a pleasure meetin' you, and I bet we'll have a group going by the time we go out to a good spot." He loved the mud just a tad too much.

Tai couldn't help but laugh with him in amusement. " they'll just have to learn you can't always keep someone perfectly groomed in a place like this." he wondered how anyone who always wanted to be clean could live in the swamps where mud is. it was very clear to him that the swamp was not the best place for someone who wanted to be clean to stay at. "it's been a pleasure meeting you too. and i definitely will take you up on hanging out another time."
