The Drunken Sailor.

A the far end of the beach in the central heart of the prides territory lies a sheltered cove, protected on one side by the rising cliff, the other a natural curve of the soil and outcrop of greenery that boarders the golden sands and works back developing into more over grown jungle like vegetation. It is within at the top of this area of beach, out of reach of the highest tide line that you'll find The Drunken Sailor.

Too the unknowing eye they'd miss the rows of bark husks placed at intervals around the top edge of the gathering place where the sand meets the first speck of soil forming and the white exposed roots of salt tolerant grasses. It is within the these slightly curved husks that fermented fruits are placed and the Pirates of Maestros Del Mar beginning their festivities. The proprietor of this gathering is none other than the beautiful Uzuri, she will be your host and for a price will help you drink your worries away or aid you in finding that needed buzz to celebrate any occasion.

The Fruits.

Amatungulu: These small plum like fruits are soft and rich, they ferment quickly and easily and due to the tree loving the coastal environment and also salt tolerant they grow in abundance in the pride lands. These fruits are the smallest Uzuri can offer but unlike some of her other fruits they pack a punch and therefore are worth a little more. Cost = 3 Cowries.

Granadilla (Yellow Passion Fruit.): These fragrant fruits are pulpy and contain lots of small edible pips, the pulp ferments quickly and is a mediocre kick. Cost = 2 Cowries.

Kei apple: These small fruits are, like the Amatungulu common in the pride lands due to the small trees ability to grow in high saline soils. The fruits are quick to ferment though may take a little longer than some of the softer, pulp like fruits. They are sour to taste and give a mediocre kick. Cost = 2 Cowries.

Abiu: These fruits have a creamy jelly like texture and are more favoured by the Corsairs, they do not ferment well but have a lovely sweet caramel flavour. Cost = Free.

Platonia: These fruits are thick skinned and hold the white sticky pulp like fruit well, they taste sweet and sour and have a mild kick. Cost = 1 Cowry.

Marula: These fruits have a white flesh which is rich in vitamin C and have a tart though strong distinctive, slightly caramel like taste. They have a mediocre kick. Cost = 2 Cowries.

Oranges One of the most fragrant of fruits besides the Granadilla, they ferment quickly and have a pleasant taste. They have a mediocre to good kick. Cost = 3 Cowries

Horned Melon: Grown growing and easy to harvest they are one of the most interest fruits to look at. They have a watery refreshing taste like that of cucumber and lemon, also one favoured by the Corsair as it ferments poorly. Cost = Free.

Mango Sweet to taste and once Uzuri has removed the stone it is one of the most pleasurable fruits to consume. They pack a punch. Cost = 5 Cowries.

Spiny-Monkey Orange These are relatively large yellow fruits which only swell and appear after a good rain. They have a mediocre kick. Cost = 2 Cowries.

Pineapple The best fruits and the most valuable, these fruits take longer to grow and not a favourite for Uzuri to harvest as they p***k her lips. They have a high sugar content and therefore ferment wonderfully and with the size of them there's a lot of it. They pack a punch but be warned these come with a large price tag! Cost = 10 Cowries or discuss/barter trinkets with Uzuri.

Watermelon Wonderfully refreshing and sweet to taste, if the Cosair want to get drunk this is one of there favourites and it's big enough to share. Bigger isn't always better as watermelons are mostly all water and therefore only give a mediocre kick. Cost = 3 Cowries (due to size).

Payment.

So, like any business driven creature Uzuri doesn't offer up her wares freely, she has spent time producing the best fruits within the Pride and will expect a premium price. There is of course no currency within the Pride and amongst fellow felines and befriended canines but Uzuri has formed a currency of sorts to simply be used at The Drunken Sailor. Cowries are shells that can sometimes be found along the beaches of the Prides territory and can be used as payment for fermented fruits so they hold value amongst the Pirates for this simple reason, amongst the crew then it is sometimes common to trade other valued items and trinkets for Cowries to later be used to purchased fruits.

How to gain Cowries OCly:
OOO● 1 completed RP with the Prides sub-forum can be used to gain 1 cowry. (you may not use the same RP twice, I shall check.)
OOO● Pirates crew of course go on raids, pillage and plunder. Trinkets and other valuables may be found and shared amongst the crew, it is up to the captain to split everything or dedicate another to this role. You may use such an RP to show if they gained a cowry/cowries during a raid RP.
OOO● Trinkets and other valuables may also be traded amongst the pride members, you may use Rps showing this exchange to gain cowries, the number of which should be agreed whilst trading ICly.

((For my own benefit please colour the moment of gaining/finding a cowry in red in the RP if gaining via method 2 or 3.))

Also to note Uzuri has a weakness for Plumeria flowers, Pikake blossoms and Orange blossoms, so ICly you may also try and bribe her with these for fermented fruits. Flowers can be foraged for in a SRP or in an RP, please post the same form above but strike out 'cowries' and type 'Flowers'.

Opening hours.

IC: Uzuri can often be found in the area either early morning or early evening. If she's not about you'll have to hunt her down or try again later. Festivities may also be held here, please check the Pride Announcement post to see if Pirato is hosting a gathering.
