Things were not going as well as the young male would have liked. Walimi had known things would be tough coming into it- he had known moving an entire pride wouldn’t go smoothly. But to have it hit so close to home was not something he would have expected. His own sister lost and away from her family. And for so long! Each passing day, he knew, diminished the chances of ever finding her. However, the male wasn’t one to give into despair. At least, not yet.
Not when he had a disheartened mother and a distraught sister to think about. His own feelings on the matter would have to wait. For the time being, he needed to be strong.
He needed to wear the mane in the family, right? So he needed to do his best to ensure his family kept their hopes up, even if he knew, in the back of his mind, that things were getting a bit on the grim side in terms of ever finding their beloved Tunda. All the same, such gloomy thoughts wouldn’t change fate. Perhaps the answer lied in keeping hopeful. Keeping up the search. For his younger sister, who had lost a best friend, he would force himself to keep away from the darker thoughts that threatened to reveal the reality of the situation.
Sighing to himself, the young male moved to their new den, his mind repeating his resolve. Don’t be glum- don’t let hope fade. All will be well.
All will be well.
Seeing his mother, the male brought up his head, a deep breath attempting to fill him with the confidence he now found harder and harder to hold onto. “Mother,” he offered softly, moving towards her, “how are you today?”
Not exactly brimming with hope and comfort, but he was still young. Wise words were not yet stored in his vocabulary. The best he could do was keep looking for his sister and be there for his family.
