Dara’moshra was less than pleased. She was tired, covered in swamp mud, and worse of all she had been separated from Hothlepoya. Her baby was missing and Dara was not taking it very well. It didn’t matter to her that Hoth was not actually a cub, the boy was actually an adolescent lion, but in her mind he was still her tiny little cub. Likely he could take care of himself out here, but she was not fond of him being out of her sight for too long. She was a bit of a protective mother, at least in her mind only a bit. “Where could he be? Do you think he is lost? What if he got trapped in mud and the mire pulled him under!” Her voice caught a bit high on the second question, before becoming shaky at the last part. She slowed her pace, staring hard at Upendo’mume.

Upendo'mume walked beside his mate, nudging her shoulder gently as they did. "He'll be find, Dara. You raised him well." The larger lion had been slightly afraid that something like this would happen; their son getting separated in the fog from them. They were only there because 'Mume had heard for a swamp dwelling pride that protected their own very closely, something that it seemed Dara'moshra would need if she was to ever be able to let Hothlepoya actually go. The boy was almost an adult and was still coddled like a cub by her. It wasn't that he didn't like it, no the lion was just concerned for his son. "Come now, maybe the lions of the swamp have seen our little boy."

Saleem was rolled over half-way upside down. His paws were shooting into the sky like trees and his back was submerged into so much mud you could barely even see his blue pelt. Funny how much he hated mud before he joined; but lord how much he loved it now. It was much softer to sleep in then the hard grass and dirt, and ontop of that when he cleaned himself off it made his skin and coat gleam from whatever was in mud in the first place.
It saved the lazy lion the extra time of having to clean himself more often in the first place. Now he didn't have to bathe himself for months. Though lucky for the pride his daughter Kivuli kept on him about his stench or he might not have lasted in the swampies for very long in the scheme of things.

The compliment made her smiles. Yes, she did raise him well didn’t see. However it didn’t last for too long. He was still her baby and he needed her. Her mind went back to fretting on the various dangers that could possibly be out in the swamp, natural and otherwise. He could get attacked y any manner of beastie, or maybe a tree uprooted from the mud might fall on him. Or he fell in a hole and was lost, alone, crying out for her. The lioness closed her eyes tight, her fur frizzing from the sudden stress. “Well I hope we find hi-” The sentence was cut short as Dara fell forward, hitting the mud with a squelch. A loud growl escaped her maw as she attempted to extract herself from the muck, turning quickly to face the offending object, and sliding a bit in the process.
Lying paws up in the mud was a lion, and Dara was even less pleased about that. Not only had she been tripped and covered in mud, but the fault fell to a male. The growl continued as she advanced on the mud-covered lion, stopping a few paces short when she remembered her missing son. Her anger was only mildly abated, mixed once more with worry. “You! Mud-lion. Have you seen a young lion pass by here recently?” it was a moment later that she remembered that was not their only reason for being here, and was in fact just an unfortunate happenstance. “Also we are looking for the pride within this mire.”

Nodding in agreement was something Upendo'mume had grown good at. It was something he did frequently along with 'yes dear' to help keep his mate calm. He couldn't really blame her for her worry though, not after what had happened to them, but he had taken it better then her. His mind was pulled out of his own thought as Dara'moshra suddenly fell. The lion moved forward to help her up though she seemed not to really need it. "Are you alright?" The worried question came out regardless though.
His eyes traveled from her to what was most likely the most curious looking thing he had seen yet; a lion with his paws up. Upendo'mume stepped forward, nudging the other male with his paw, "Excuse my mate's brashness," A warning glance was tossed to the lioness but his gaze went back to the male quickly enough, "but her question is correct, we are searching for our son and the pride that I heard that resides here. Do you happen to know where either are?"

Saleem's eyes perched open as the lioness collided with him. Another lion would have sprung up and attacked- or possibly if he hadn't wanted to go back to his nap, run off in another direction. Instead he rolled back over into the mudd as if the incident had barley even phased him.
"I'm not mud-lion." He protested with a slight hind of disgust in his mouth. But his mouth settled back down being too tired to protest.
"Yer in my sunlight." He whiffled led a paw in the direction of the female and pushed at the air like he could move her. He again seamed to be more displeased with himself that it didn't move her. He groaned again and looked at the pair.
"Swampies yea? That's what your looking fer? Well your here...and there ain't going to be any less mud the further you go in so you best be used to it."
He then pondered her question. "If I tell you about all the lions that have tripped over me...will ya move out of my sunlight? It's getting drafty and I feel a chill."
Somehow his daughter should have been the first one they tripped into. Not Saleem the fat blob lion. This was not going to go well for any of them.

Such gall! This muddied beast had the manners of a toad, and didn’t look much different at the time being either. Dara let out another growl. “Insolent..” She spoke under her breath, barely a whisper. The growl died off as she cleared her throat, raising her head in a regal manner, and it may have look more so had it not been for the fact that mud was dripping off, well, everywhere almost. “Well at least we know this is the right area then for this pride.” Dara glanced quickly over at Mume, as that was directed at his person, but turned quickly back to the lazy lion lying in the mud before her. “Fine, 'Not Mud-lion'. I will move out of your sunlight if you tell me if any young lions have passed by recently.” Halfway through the sentence the growl formed again in her throat, giving a threatening tone to her speech.

Upendo'mume's brows furrowed as he snapped his fangs in the direction of his mate, attempting to quiet to the rumbling in her throat. "Now is not the time for that, loving mate." Again his attention went to the lazing lion. "We would like to know the direction of these...Swampies, if you would be able to show us. We are looking for join them, along with our son who was traveling with us." Though he was just as worried for his son as Dara'moshra, he was keeping himself as composed as he could. Maybe he should just stop trying to calm the lioness and just let her do the talking. No, that would be a bad idea...She'd like hurt the poor fellow on the ground who she had tripped over. He had not tripped her, so it was no fault of his.

Saleem took no notice to the females threats. Again he looked pleadingly where the sun had been and so much wanting it back. "Yea I've seen young lions...they come in and out for there naming quest all the time. Don't really pay to much attention to it since it's rather common place to see kids wandering about these days." He spat back at the female not in the mood for her games. He just wanted to sleep. But the male's tone, and his worry about his son; well that was different. Saleem had kids too; and lazy as he was his daughter meant the world to him.
"Son?" He sat up for the first time in the conversation deeply concerned. "Well you should have mentioned your son in the first place. I haven't seen anyone with the likes of either of your looks- or YOUR temper." He hissed at the female obviously displeased that she called him 'mud-lion' instead of asking for his name. "But my own daughter Kivuli could help you better then myself. She just came back from her naming quest. Could have bumped into him at some point. I'd ask her."

The growling died off as Mume snapped at her and Dara huffed loudly. She turned her gaze away from the pair, not bothering to hide her displeasure about the situation. However she listened keenly, stifling any growls daring to form from the Mud-lion’s words. He had at least been somewhat helpful and had answered the question, finally. Dara huffed again and moved aside, out of the sunlight that she had apparently been blocking. “Where can we find this daughter of yours then so we can ask?” She took care to keep her tone level, though her ears had swiveled back and lay against her head.

[Sorry for the late reply. ;A; Forgotten RP.]
"Yes, my son." It was good to see that the other lion understood his feelings having a daughter himself, but he could not know of the horrors that had surrounded their son's birth. "Kivuli..." Unpendo'mume repeated the name just to make sure that it stayed in his mind so he could ask any they came across if they had seen her. "I suppose she would look like you or do you know where she may be?" Gold eyes scanned over land he could see that was not clouded by fog or had trees blocking the field of vision, hoping that his son would come walking through it.

He nodded his head. "Looks like a shadow...All blue. But lucky for you she's off flirting with all the boys. So that might be where your son is too-" He pointed towards the prides water hole further in. "It's where all the young kids who just came back from there naming quest hang out." He yawned. "And they often bring back rogues with them...so yea...that's yer best bet." He blinked at the sun beams coming down from the sky, he really needed to get back to his nap.

Flirting? Dara’s brows raised sharply and a sneer quickly spread across her face. She turned to the direction the mud-lion had pointed, tail flicking behind her. “We will look there then.” Without saying anything more she started off towards this watering hole that had been spoken of. She wasn’t about to let some strange lioness corrupt her baby. Who knew what she would do if Dara wasn’t there. She could lure her baby off somewhere, maybe in to some sort of trap! Or who knew what else. Dara’moshra slowed her pace only slightly to call back to Mume, her voice a bit high and frantic. “Quickly, we have to find him!”

The green lion nearly laughed at the thought of his little boy being advanced upon by a lioness he didn't know. It was quite a funny though the more he thought about it, but he held his tongue because of the expression upon his mate's face. "Thank you!" He called back as he turned and ran after his mate. At least there was some kind of hope now that he was out there.

"My...er...pleasure?" He hoped he had not just caused a bunch of problem for his daughter if she did happen to find their son...and SHE DID happen to be flirting with him. But then he thought about it for a few seconds more. Unlike him she could hold her own. She doubted that his daughter would have any problem handling the pair. "Yea- er...well g'night..." He took one look at the sun yawned as big as his mouth could open and flopped back into the mud with a splash.
