She hadn't gone far. To be honest, anyone could have seen her mere feet away from where she normally sat. She wasn't the most adventurous of sorts, or more accurately, she wasn't prepared to take unnecessary risks, or break the rules that both family and pride had set in place. She wasn't supposed to disappear from sight and as a consequence she had to entertain herself as close to home as possible. Fortunately for Ni'it, she was particularly adept at this and following a previous meeting with a crafter, had been inspired to try her own paw at this activity...there was just one thing missing.
...She had no trinkets.
Spurred on by this revelation she had pulled herself to all fours and padded a short distance away from her 'den' to locate some trinkets and jewels that she perceived to be of use. So far she hadn't found a great many, but the items she had found were decidedly pretty - a few fallen flowers, some oddly shaped leaves, a few empty snail shells and a shiny rock. All in all it wasn't a bad haul, but the little cub wasn't completely satisfied based on the idea she had in mind.
Consequently, it was here that most individuals would find her... Head buried into various bushes and undergrowth as she sought out objects of interest, she was fairly oblivious to the activities of those around her for the time being, family, friends and elders included!

Neither a soul for an adventure in which rules were broken either, Ni'it's other dark sister had been sitting calmly in their den, just resting from the previous activities and lessons of the day. She wasn't one for attention, either, and so easily slipped into the shadows after she saw her sister wander out of their home. As usual, their father was out on duty, and their mother was preoccupied with the seven other cubs that seemed to still have more than enough energy to support her concentration.
It was near evening, and the shadows stretched long enough for her to crouch in them, averting Ni'it's attention; Ni'it was focused on something else, anyways, and so it was very easy to just... stalk her sister, somewhat. It was in her personality to observe the things happening in the background - such as her sister leaving, and it was more so in her personality to prefer the situations with less people. She always was better at one-on-one interactions with her siblings than participating in a huge group. It was just perfect that Ni'it decided to escape from the crowd, even if it was to somewhere nearby enough to be spotted by their mother.
Continuing to watch in silence, she saw Ni'it absorbed in digging into the brushes that grew outside their den. Her sister pawed out some odd objects, including some (now) dead plants and things that once belonged to other creatures of their jungle... It was peculiar, but she took all of this observation with interest in her sister. It seemed like Ni'it had a penchant for sorting through odd things. And it seemed like she wanted to keep them.
"Ni'it?" she spoke, her voice still quiet as she emerged from the shadows to place herself beside her sister.
"What are you doing?" came the inevitable question.

It was inevitable that at some point she was going to be found out, deep down Ni'it was aware of this. However, this didn't make it less startling when her sister's quiet voice crept up behind her and seemed to tickle her across her spine. It was enough to make her yelp and stumble backwards, her lips parting in surprise as she glanced over her shoulder and regarded her sister. At first she could only see the white markings, breaking up the monotony of the shadows...but as her eyes adjusted Kalin'ite became much more visible.
...Oh but sometimes she really did think it was ever so slightly fair that some of her siblings could hide so well!
She had the decency to look sheepish for a few moments and then quietly, she pushed all of her gathered trinkets into a little pile and sat beside them. Suffice to say that Ni'it had absolutely no intention of leaving these oddities behind. She'd come out to find them for a reason and if she left them now then that defeat the purpose completely! No, it seemed that she had no other choice than to tell the truth - that being said, Kalin'ite probably wouldn't have said anything mean anyway.
"Collecting stuff," she mumbled in embarassment and patted her pile protectively. "I want to make some of the jewellery that the crafters make... least I want to try," she confessed.
