(I decided to make my guy a semi talented student, since he is too young to have a career as a psychologist yet.)
Teal Bolero
Race: Human
Age: 24
Occupation: Psychology student- Bartender twice a week.
Personality: Teal likes to portray himself as a serious, calculating man. In reality, he is a kind, laid back individual. He values the lives of others, and chose to be a psychologist to help people cope with difficult times.
His experiences in life have given him a powerful understanding of human emotions, which he considers a great asset in his career path.
Abilities:
-can speak multiple languages
-considers himself as able to talk his way out of anything
-his grasp of how people think give him a tactical edge
Partial Bio:
Like many children in the city, Teal is an orphan. His parents were among many other people that vanished during the war 20 years ago. The other orphans and himself all coped in different ways. At his particular facility; Redwood Grove, they all were able (and forced) to talk to a reabilitation counselor. The counselor's name was Kaiel(Kyle) Cross, a very kind and caring, altruistic soul. Whose support and nurturing of the children made Redwood Grove a place of orgin for many successful young adults. Even Teal cared very much for Cross. However, he was known for being a troublemaker around the facility and he rebelled against the notion that he had to talk to a counselor. Due to the fact that he was unable to fit into even a place like Redwood Grove, he began to lash out. Eventually he gave up on finding kinship among his peers, and actively seperated himself from them through deviant behavior. Typical, troubled, young boy.
Yet even the most outlandish acts would do nothing to phase Cross, he understood the plight of the young man and would never turn his back on him. Every angry, condescending word from Teal to Cross, would be met with a thoughtful, understanding gaze. The young man would never have guessed Cross had a soft spot for him. Many of the good things in life were lost to cynisim. Still, at least three times a week for most of his youth, Teal would have a place where he would always have someone to understand him.
However, one day would change everything. When Teal was 16 years old, a terrorist riot broke out within the city, the familiar violence, mayhem and destruction would once again reach the children of the orphanage. To some the war had not ended. And they would have their vengence through the blood of the enemies children.
However, Kaile Cross proved he was able to do more than just speak words of comfort, as he helped evacuate the children to safety. However, upon reaching the empty orphanage, the terrorists would not relent in their hunt. The staff of the Redwood all knew that the group would be tracked and eliminated in only a matter of time.
Knowing a decision had to be made, Cross rose up and spoke to the other adults. To Teal it sounded like directions. He then spoke to the group as a whole. "You are all.. My family. I love you all very much. Please, do not forget that." His eyes appeared to be full of tears, though no one could be certain. Cross had never appeared sad before to any of them, not once in his many years of service at Redwood. Before anyone could say anything, he turned his back and began to walk towards the facility, and began running when a child called after him. At that moment, a few of the older children understood what was going on. They, among all of the Redwood staff gave him a teary eyed salute.
Kaile Cross was never seen again.
Despite suffering the loss of only one person, it was a devestating blow to the people of Redwood Grove.
Leaving everyone feeling cheated. Few had taken the chance to show the counselor how much he meant to them.
Kaile Cross was the main inspiration for Teal's path as a psychologist.
He would always wish he had been nicer to the man that cared for him like family, wish that he showed his appreciation, gotten to know Cross better and that he hadn't been such a brat when he was younger. But those wishes would never come to pass.
All he can do now is live a life to honor the man he respected.
