Lanyin huffed as she used her tail to dust her hind legs and rump off from where she had tumbled tail over heel into the first. She glared back at the den where she lived with her family, before sticking her tongue out. Honestly! Her brothers were nothing but pains in her rump! Well she wasn't going to waste this beautiful day dealing with them.

Her mind made up, Lanyin shook her coat to get the last of the dust out before trotting off in the direction of the shrines. She just knew one day she would make these great monuments, so she needed to learn all she could about them!

Sigune had spent the better part of the morning stalking through the dew-dotted grass, her keen eyes darting from one source of movement to the next. Shadows of birds above, the occasional skittering ant, and the rare dart of a mouse- all distractions from her goal. While she had a disliking for bugs of any shape, she adored the shining, multi-colored carapace that many of the grassland beetles sported. She had begun a small collection of the shining treasures well out of sight from her siblings, high up in one of the trees. Which one? That was for her to know.

She paused, her ears rolling forward as sunlight glanced off of the shining back of a blue beetle lazily waddling his way along a thick stalk of grass. She lowered herself down, eyes wide and paws gently brushing forward.

The beetle, far more observant than the awkward youth behind him, lifted off with a hum of his wings and a snap of the grass. Sigune moaned her disappointment and sat upright. Something scared it... Frowning, she turned about. Behind her, the grass was parting around a small blue figure. Another cub?

"Hello?"
