Asi sighed as he lumbered out of his den, his chocolate orbs holding a slight sadness to them. And exhaustion; he'd been so terribly tired for the last few moons. The lands were not doing good lately... many of the younger generation wanted to up and move, especially if any caught wind of the terrible 'curse' placed on his bloodlines. Sometimes it was laughable to Asikari, and other times it made him feel slightly guilty, as if everything could have been prevented... how he missed his beautiful, dark beauty. How long had it been since Ari had ... had passed? Much too long, and now with many of his children missing from the lands his reminders were leaving too. He stuck to his den for most days lately. It wasn't that he was particularly old, he and Ari had given life to their first litter when they were fairly young... but he was old. Older than almost everyone in the Kusini lands... old and sad. Heartbroken. How could he keep living without his precious mate by his side? He'd already gone so long without her... had already taken the comforts of Tisha... that too he felt guilty of. But he knew that Are was always watching from up in the stars, knew that she would forgive him anything he did while she couldn't be next to him. Just like he'd forgive her any sins, because she completed him and made him whole. She'd been his everything, his world... and now. Now he had the pride they'd reistablished... he had grandcubs and great grandcubs and... well he wasn't sure how long their line extended.

It was a beautiful family, and he was sure it spread far through the world. But it was not enough... he could not hold together the pride... and now that his lovely daughter Syeira was missing... He shook his head and sighed, wishing his thoughts would move away from such sad subjects. Instead he let his once warm gaze focus on the sky. The day was coming to an end, the lands were cooling. He would need to find Denahi soon, talk to his son. He had many things he wanted to tell his children... many things he'd never be able to tell them, they were all grown and some had families of their own, some had left to explore the world and had never once come back... it was bitter sweet, the family he'd created with Ari. He sighed deeply, blinking as his gaze landed on a mostly white lioness headed directly for his den. Crap, what was her name again? And who's girl was it? Though he was fairly certain she could have been one of Taabu's kids... ah! No, that was wrong. She was... related to Taabu's mate, was she not? Something like that. He nodded his head to her, holding off on greeting her because part of him really didn't want to socialize. Part of him? Who was he kidding. All of him didn't want to socialize.

Ah the day had been so boring! And since when had the Kusini lands been do devoid of cubs? She missed having other little ones running about everywhere so she could play. In fact, most of the time she just felt lonely because Damu had gone missing. Or left... she was sure he'd return. At least, she'd been more sure when this had first happened... now? Well, she didn't know. She was tempted to leave and go looking more than once, but she also was afraid that the moment she left the lands he would be back, and they would just miss each other. That would be a terrible fate, something she'd never be able to live with. And what if he realized she was no longer in the lands and he left... and then she returned while he was gone again? No, it wouldn't be good to do something so stupid. She had to just keep believing in her mate... but it was harder and harder to do with each moon that passed. She was beginning to think horrible things, the worst case scanario sort of thoughts.

She wanted to end those thoughts, to think of other thoughts or maybe just make herself helpful to the pride somehow, if that was even possible. She was terrified of a lot of the members though... such tempers Adamu's family had! Almost every one of them... though some of them were easy going. Asi'Kari had a temper too... but usually it was toned down. More or less he just seemed grumpy, but that wasn't so bad. He was kind of funny, actually. And a little sad... it hurt Kimia's heart whenevr she saw him, he was always so sad looking. "A...ah.." Wait, what was she supposed to call him? He wasn't quite Adamu's father... well he was Adamu's father, he took care of Adamu even if they weren't related by blood... But should she call him dad? Especially with Adamu missing like he was?

She cleared her throat as she got closer and put a smile on her maw. "Asi'kari, hi! Hello... how are you doing Asi?" She called out, deciding it would be better to call him by his name.

He sighed lightly, realizing this was going to be a social visit after all. He supposed it could have been worse; she could have been here with her problems or something. No, he'd definitely had that thought too soon! Knowing his crappy luck she was definitely going to bring up some sort of problem and it would be bothersome and he would have to talk to her about it. He wanted to go back up into his den and just curl up. "Ello." He grudgingly offered, though he still wasn't sure what her damn name was... Adamu's mate. Ah. He suddenly realized what this was probably all about... Adamu had gone missing from the lands a while ago, hadn't?

He frowned deeply; many of their members were missing. Or had simply chose to leave and go on their way, finding their own lives away from the Kusini pride. His tail flicked and he slowly sat his large form down, curling his tail around his paws as his gaze shifted away from the light colored lioness and focused more on the horizon. "An' jus' wha' brings yeh 'ere yeh me den?" He was tempted to crankily ask her off the bat what problem she was having, but that was a bit cruel and... still, didn't she have any damned friends? "'s been so long since I'd gotten myself a visitor tha' I was beginnin' ter like my solitude." He chuckled softly. Ah, Asikari had 'enjoyed' his solitude ever since Ari's passing; he wasn't kidding anyone.

Kimia almost decided to turn around at Asi's almost-sour greeting. She knew he wasn't the friendliest of lions... ah, but he was pretty smart and knew what to do in situations. Or at least, she had it in her head that all of these thoughts were true. That and... well she thought that maybe it would be nice for him to get visited, even if he denied it until the end. She couldn't imagine a world where lions actually choice to be alone, something was definitely wrong in that case and it would need to be fixed. She imagined it was hard for Asi'kari, with all of his family surrounding him... well, a lot of his family. Since he did have a huge family! And she'd contributed to that family! Well, not to his blood but...

She shook her head and smiled, shaking away all of the troublesome thoughts. "I'm sorry if you liked the quiet, I just thought you might want some company... I've been feeling a little lonely." She was careful not to dive into her problem right away, that would have been really rude probably. She did, however, bring herself to sit down right next to him. Not a fan of personal boundries, she was practically touching fur to fur with him because of how close she sat. "The lands have been a little lonely, don't you think?" Even though Kimia sounded cheerful almost all of the time, here her cheerfulness was mixed with little dashes of gloom and pity. She missed when the lands were energetic and everyone was so cheerful!
