Namir had to talk to the Sultan. He needed help in his duties, female help. As a pad he was not ment to touch other's banu but as a healer he felt as if he had to do anything he could to help. Hopefully the Sultan could think of a way that he could fufill both requirements.
In truth Namir was just using this as a way to keep his mind focused on something other then Farrah's pregnancy, his father leaving, and his mother's death. He knew that he was over reacting that morning when he told Farrah to stay in the den, to rest and stay off her paws. He knew he deserved the sharp part of Farrah's tongue but he was so afraid that Farrah's pregnancy would turn out like his mother's ill fated pregnancy. Namir couldn't even blame his father for leaving the pride for a little while, although he didn't really get taking the cubs with him. But how did he become the pad of all his sisters and Aunties? Other then him being the eldest boy to return that is.
He shook his head to remove these thoughts. Namir had promised himself he wouldn't think of any of it. He needed something... anything to take his mind off of all the things worrying him. This conundrum was just what he needed to help distract him. Helpfully the Sultan would know what to do and doing it would occupy him long enough to give Farrah time to cool down. Being tossed into the lake once was quite enough for him.

Aali was ever considering the pride, how best to maintain the careful balance that the Ukuucha'Wafalme represented. He'd taken care to ensure his banu set a good example for the others. He patrolled just as often if not more then the other males, everyone had to do their part. He would often visit down at the lake to see the cubs and how the other banu fared. Sometimes he wondered if he wasn't being too overprotective, after all his fathers approach had been far more relaxed. Yet in his fathers time there had been harsh Pads and many Kajira who were put down. Aali knew he wanted his pride to be a bit more harmonious then all of that and it was but for a few minor incidents.
It was the relative peace and quiet that often made him feel comfortable with taking the luxury of a sunny nap. Sprawling on a rock near the lake and listening to the happy chatter of the pride was his favorite way to relax. He was sprawled over a sunny rock now allowing the heat to soak into his mane as he let out a contented rumble. His ear twitched and he slid an eye open noticing a male approaching.
Ah one of Achal's boys, such a fine family they had all turned out to be. He rolled over and sat up with a smile, he always tried to make sure he was approachable for the smallest cub to his two important Viziers.

As Namir approached the Sultan he began to have second thoughts. Couldn't he come up with a solution himself? Was it worth asking Farrah or Rana for suggestions? Did he really want to disturb the Sultan with something this petty?
Just as he was about to turn around Aali opened his blue eyes and Namir knew he had been spotted. Disturbing the Sultan was now unavoidable, after all he couldn't just turn around and pretend he hadn't come this way to speak to the ruler of the pride.
As he got closer Namir realized that he hadn't actually talked to the Sultan before, at least not since he was a cub. How should one address him? The blue lion ran out of time to think as he stopped just a few paces from the older lion. He sketched a quick bow before standing back up, if one was unkind they could compare it to a meerkat popping it's head in and out of it's hole.
"Good morning Sultan Aali. I am Naim'Namir and I am sorry for disturbing your nap but I would like a moment or two of your time, if I may that is." Being polite never hurt anything.

He moved down off the rock and gave a quick stretch before sitting and nodding.
"Of course Namir, don't worry it was hardly a disturbance I can hardly spend all day napping now then can I?" He chuckled and blew a small tuft of his black mane back.
For a moment he paused and his face turned a bit more serious. "My condolences in regards to your mother, she was a wonderful banu..." He shook his head softly and made a mental note that when Achal returned he would have to offer a few words of comfort. Then again every lion grieved in their own way, no doubt Achal's decision to spend some time in the rogue lands was his.
"Now then what can I help you with?" He asked curiously wondering if perhaps the young male needed some additional help with one of his banu pregnant.

There was little Namir could say, his mother's death was still very much a raw wound on his consciousness. But something had to be said, one did not just ignore something the Sultan says to oneself. Namir nodded his head and said softly, "She will be greatly missed." The blue lion couldn't help but think about everything that she would be missing from. His cubs birth, Thuraya's grandcubs coming of age, his brothers returns to the pride... so many family members never got to say goodbye and now they would never get to. It finally struck Namir that when his brothers came back from their banu quest, if they ever at this point, they would encounter a horrible shock in the death of Tsubame.
He pulled his thoughts away from dark miasma they were sinking into and focused on what he was just asked.
It took him a moment to remember exactly what he needed to ask the Sultan and a moment more to organize his thoughts into a semi understandable sentence. "Sir ever since I returned from my banu quest I have been doing my best to act as the pride's healer, it was something I trained for in the rouge lands, but I know the pride's rules and have found that in some cases my paws are figuratively tied." He took a deep breath, here was the tricky part. "As a Pad I can not in good conscious touch another's banu without permission first but as a healer I feel obligated to help anyone who needs it. This would not be such a problem if there was a banu with healing skills as well but I don't know of one. Nor can I think of a solution that would work for everyones benefit."

Hmm, healing yes that was something he had failed to address. The pride had never had an official healer before, but the ability was a useful one. Still Namir had a point, as a male it wouldn't be right if he went about touching and chatting with females about their health. No what he needed was a banu to assist him or learn the same craft so she could aid her sisters.
"Hmm...I cannot assign a banu to you unless it were one of my own..." He considered his daughters a moment, some were still without a Pad of their own. Perhaps that would be a fitting solution, Namir seemed a trustworthy male and his father was almost trusted like a vizier within the pride.

xxxxxAt that moment, a young Banu happened to be padding along the edge of the lake. Her black nose was pointed downward and toward the inside of the lake, lazily watching the water roll over itself in the breeze. Dareia would not have looked up from her travels, had her ears not swiveled toward the low murmuring of male voices. Instantly, her eyes lit up, recognition within them. "Father!" She whisper-shouted before her head turned toward the voices. It was then that she recognized another of the pride, a Pad she'd met when they were cubs. Slowly, as not to disturb any conversation, she walked over. Once sure they were not talking, Dareia grinned, bowing her head to each of the males and greeting them with a "Sultan Aali, Pad Namir." Although Aali was her father, when around others Dareia preferred to address him formally; the pride was very much about respect, position, and appearance and she didn't wish to give someone a reason to talk poorly of her.
xxxxxOnce she had spoken, Dareia allowed herself to look up at the two males. It was easy to tell that something was going on between the two - although she couldn't figure out what was happening, she could see that this wasn't a meaningless chat. Dareia's tail flicked, curious as to what was going on, but knowing to keep her place and not speak out. If they wished to reveal it to her, they would; but it was not proper of her to nudge for information. That was rude and disrespectful, although she did have a habit of it. Dareia enjoyed talking, to say the least. Knowing what was going on throughout the land was something she prided herself in; and that didn't come from keeping quiet. Though, the things she managed to hold in her brain happened to be menial, not often things that really mattered to others. One of the few events she recently found herself mulling over in her brain was the death of Tsubame, Namir's mother. It was tragic; she'd been a lovely Banu and everyone had loved her. However, it wasn't something to mention upon seeing her father and Tsubame's son. Keeping straight-faced but content, Dareia looked upon the two males, waiting for one to begin speaking.

Namir nodded in understanding. "Thats quite reasonable. To be honest I did not even think of asking my sisters if they would be willing to learn." He looked away sheepishly. Something that simple really should have occurred to him and it shamed him that it did not.
When Namir glanced away he noticed a banu heading their way. It took him a moment to realize that this lioness was the same female that he had played with when they were both young. Her polite greetings reminded Namir that he was in the presence of her father, greeting her as a old friend was not exactly advisable. He nodded his head politely and said, "Hello Banu Dareia. I hope your morning is going well."
He remember how curious Dareia always was so with a quick glance at Sultan Aali, Namir explained what he was talking to her father about. "I was asking Sultan Aali if he knew of a way for me to follow the pride's rules as well as being the pride's healer. Since physical touching between banu and pad, when not related, is not allowed this is quite difficult. Your father was just suggesting a possible solution." Namir hoped he hadn't overstepped his bounds but he knew that unless Dareia became a lot less curious as she got older, she would be next to dying to know what Namir and Aali were just talking about.
