Lying on a rock, Kalama was, for once, pretty relaxed. Usually when bored the red female would pace, or look for someone to duel, or wander the dunes. But she had decided that right now she was okay with taking a break on a rock near the dens. She even had a bit of shade covering her, thanks to another, taller rock nearby, and the current angle of the sun. This was very appreciated, considering it seemed like there hadn't been cloud cover in an eternity.
Still, just because she was relaxed didn't negate her boredom, and soon enough she began to scratch little nonsensical scribbled into the rock.

Sozin's body was recovering from the onslaught of his joining duels well, he had been schooled in the ways of the pride and had joined the army as soon as his one month quarantine was over. As a soldier, he felt the rush of fighting roaring through his veins again, however he had not yet officially started yet. He would start training with the army soon, but for now, he was enjoying exploring his new 'home'.
The amount of red around him was pleasing, and their attitudes? Well, they fit what he wanted just perfectly. He smirked as he walked, but a familiar pattern caught his eye. He was surprised that he recognised the pattern, as all the red seemed to merge together in his minds eye, but those joining duels were burnt into his memory.
It was the female he had fought. He had spent too much time taunting her though, and lost. He smirked and stalked closer to where she relaxed on the rock, scraping her claws across the stone.

For a while it seemed unlikely she would notice Sozin, strange as that was, considering he was a drastically different color from the sand that surrounded them. Kalama just continued to scrape the rocks, wondering if this was good or bad for her claws (she was beginning to think bad, but wasn't in the mood to stop yet). But she did manage to spot him before he got too close, and raised her head, turning it to look right at him.
It was possible he was a little less memorable to her than she was to him, because it took Kalama a few seconds to actually identify the lion. He had a shaggy jaw, and a white mane, and... Ah, yes, she did know him.
"Are you invading, or did you actually win a duel?" Not exactly a polite greeting, but maybe her smile kept the tone a bit lighter. Maybe.

Sozin smirked lightly as he moved closer. Ah, so she did remember him, though it had taken her a little while. He would have thought he would be quite memorable...oh well, the opinion of a random female mattered little to him, but her comment made his smirk grow.
"Let's say, for fun, I was invading," he said smoothly. "What would you do?" It was said as a light taunt, but without real venom behind it. He had to be careful not to turn the pride against him, but that didn't stop him from wanting to irritate people a little.

Well, because he talked that way, for some reason now she was sure he wasn't invading. Besides, he never would have gotten past guards. "I would be forced to chase you out." She said with a shrug, like it was no big deal. After all, she had beaten him before, probably could have done it again. Or she thought she could, anyways.
But she was still in her rare 'relax' mode, so it's not like Kalama was in a hurry to fight. For once, she might even feel more like chatting, or teasing, or whatever. So long as Sozin didn't say or do anything stupid, that required reprimanding. She was okay with reprimanding him, if she needed to.

Sozin settled himself near the rock, not crowding her however. He disliked being physically close to strangers, unless they were locked in battle. Occasionally, he used being physically close to unnerve others, but he would rather not bother this time. Instead, he simply continued to smirk and raised a brow at her.
"Oh, and you think you could catch me?" He asked, expression almost flirtatious, but his eyes were still cool, belying his flirting look. She seemed too relaxed to throw his A-game into irritating her. It would take too much effort to anger her enough to be amusing, so taunting would have to do.

She nodded. "Of course. I was a huntress before I was a soldier." That should be enough of an explanation. Kalama had to be fast to chase prey in the desert, where the ground had a tendency to move beneath you. This rogue probably didn't have as much experience, or at least she assumed he didn't. Besides, females were usually faster than males anyways.
She was honestly quite pleased with being a soldier, much more exciting than hunting. Yet, it seemed she might be heading somewhere else anyways.

Sozin raised a brow. “Being a hunter doesn’t mean you can hunt properly, just like calling oneself a fighter does not mean they can fight.” Labels were too easily applied, at least here you had to prove yourself a fighter to be a soldier.
People called themselves ‘hunters’ when they could barely hunt a dead hare. Sozin had lived on his own for so long, he had to learn to hunt himself, though his favourite ‘prey’ was usually not the ones he wanted to eat, rather he preferred those larger felines to stalk. They were far more entertaining than gazelles or hares, even wildebeest were boring compared to leopards. He smirked.

Kalama wasn't bothered by his comment, or, if she was bothered, she didn't show it. "Very well then. I was a good huntress." A very good one. Even though it had never really been a job she found exciting, the red lioness was competitive, and intended to excel at whatever it is she did. Even if it was a mediocre job.
Besides, in the end, it probably helped her fighting abilities. Made her a bit faster, and all that.

Sozin smirked. "Well, you should have just said that first." He rose to his paws, stretching leisurely. He wasn't a large male, which he was coming to realise might put him at a disadvantage in his pride of large lions, but he always enjoyed a good challenge. "Does that mean I shouldn't harass you too much?" He asked, sounding innocent. "Or have you grown...slack since giving up your huntress way of life."
Okay, so he said he wouldn't annoy her, but it was too much ingrained into his personality not to slip in a jibe or two when he could.

She smiled right back at him, almost managing to look sweet. "Let's just say you can harass me all I want." She said, and might have purred, had she been a feline that was capable of such things. Kalama certainly hadn't gone 'slack', but there was definitely something amusing in this lion's attempts to irritate her.
If he ever bugged her too much, she'd handle it. No big deal.

Sozin looked amused, raising a brow and placing a mockery of an innocently curious expression on his face. "Oh really?" He asked smoothly. "And what would happen if I wanted to irritate you further?"
He had the most fun tricking people into believing him, but there were some times when he just had fun changing his persona and expressions, to confuse the person. He was stuck between pretending to be someone he wasn't, and switching between personas with her though. An odd blend, he thought to himself, but was unconcerned. None of his personas were anything like who he was, so there was never a chance to 'slip' and reveal something about himself.

"Then we'd have a disagreement." She shrugged nonchalantly. She had beat him before, she could definitely beat him into the sand again. Maybe she was too confident, but scenarios where Kalama lost rarely crossed her mind. She was a winner, after all. "And it would probably end badly for you."
She would admit Sozin, at least, had time-consuming value. After all, she wasn't really bored now.

Sozin smirked at her words. He liked her attitude. Actually, he rather liked the entire pride's attitude, they didn't lay down and roll over to a challenge, they stood and fought. He liked that. Plus, it allowed for far more entertaining for him...
"Well," he said smoothly, stretching and moving towards her languidly. "Want to put that...confidence...to the test?" He tilted his head towards the duelling area. "I bet we could come up with something to...disagree...upon." He looked into her eyes, smirk still twisting his face confidently. "Or are you scared?"

She smirked. He wanted to take another beating? Kalama wasn't one to object to that. Admittedly, she rather liked his initiative, even if it was rather... eh, dumb. "Scared?" She repeated, raising her brows. "Why should I be? I'm not going to be losing."
Finally she had come to the conclusion that yes, she would be leaving this rock and teaching Sozin a lesson, again. She slid off easily onto her paws, and then promptly began to trot towards the dueling area, passing right in front of him on her way. "Let's make this quick."
