]The bright noon day sun saw a young adolescent leopon cub scampering into the shade of a tree on the very border of the Kitwana'Antara lands. Ukwamukela, a young hybrid, had been waiting for this day for a long time, and she was bursting with excitement. While usually allowed to run about and play as she wished, Kela, while left alone here, had her mother in just over the next hill or two, since they were so close the borders of the pride.

She was, however, allowed to wait by herself in order to finally meet her rogue father. She hadn't seen him since she was born, as it was a little difficult to make con act with rogues outside the pride, and her father lived his life separately, for the most part. So really, this would be the kitling's first time meeting the leopard, since he had gone back to traveling the rogue lands alone even before the birth of Kela and her siblings. Since she was also the only daughter of the litter, Kela had even been allowed her own time to come without her siblings, so she could have her father's attention all to herself for a little while.

Kela sat patiently beneath her tree, looking left and right quickly, scanning the horizon for any sign of her wandering father. Her tail waved back and forth behind her as her body seemed to vibrate. 'He should be coming any minute now,' the exuberant young leopon thought to herself.

User ImageHantan's plan had been to arrive before his daughter at the tree where they would finally meet, but he had also planned to bring something to eat and hunting hadn't been as quick and easy as he would have hoped. He trotted towards the meeting place with a hard-won hare hanging from his maw. It was the fourth prey animal he had tried for this morning before finally having some luck.

Saskiranel had told him the names of all his cubs (four of them!) and helped make plans to let him meet them one at a time. Hantan'gang hadn't told her outright that larger groups of people made him uncomfortable, but the lioness must be perceptive enough to see this. Whatever the case he was grateful. He did want to meet all his cubs, and getting to know them one and one, far from the busy life in the central parts of the pride was easier for him.

He could see Ukwamukela wait for him under the tree, and it was easy to see that she was Saskiranel's daughter. She was much darker in colour than the brother he had already met and there was a certain energy about her that reminded him of her mother.

"Ukwamukela," he said after putting the hare down, "Nice to finally meet you."

He had left before Saskiranel headed back to the pride to have their cubs and it was exciting to finally be able to see all of them, and their home. Not that he had seen much more than the edges of the territory just yet. He might venture further in once he felt a bit more comfortable in the situation, but for now this was enough.

Kela brightened even more as she saw a light-colored male leopard approach. That had to be him! She watched him approach, trying to imprint in her mind that this leopard was her father and that he was real and in front of her. She noticed he had even brought something from a hunt, probably for the two of them to share.

Kela could feel a little nervousness bubbling up as he spoke to her. She'd been confident she would know exactly how to act when she met her father, but now she wasn't so sure. Would he like her? What would they talk about? What was he going to be like? Well, she figured she would only know if she tried, so she gave him a bright grin as she stood.

"It's nice to finally meet you, too.." the young leopon said, her face scrunching up for a moment in thought. Her mama had told her his name beforehand, repeating it a couple times to make sure she remembered it. "Hantan'gang!" she finished as her expression cleared, happy she didn't forget.

Kela cocked her head to the side, examining him more closely. It was a little odd for her, as there weren't so many leopards in the pride, and those that were could leave sometimes, so it was rarer to see them. Coming forward a little, Kela decided to start with something simple. "Where did you just come from?" she questioned.

Despite having no signs of the disease, Kela was still too young to leave the pride alone or often, other than short trips with her family. The outside world fascinated her, and she was entertaining the idea of being a scout or a spy when she grew up. Someone that lived out there, then, who didn't even live here at all, was incredible to her.

Hantan was pleasantly surprised that she got his name right on the first try. Well, it probably wasn't her first try, but he appreciated that she had learned it before going to meet him.

"You can call me Hantan if you want to," he said, and then wondered if he should have told her to call him dad or father or something like that. Ah, he supposed she'd do that anyway if she wanted to. "It's shorter so many just use the first part."

He wondered if he should have given her a more affectionate greeting, but it would have felt weird to him since it was the first time they met. Baby steps... He'd get to know all is kids eventually, but it would have to take time.

"I've been staying out here for a few nights now," he said, but figured she meant before that, "And before that I traveled in the lands that are not claimed by any pride. There's a lot of unclaimed territory out there... And then some that's claimed by only one or a couple of people."
