There was nothing graceful about the way that Melinoe carried herself around the pride. The lioness could never be the lithe and sinuous type. There was nothing slender or lean about her. Melinoe was as big as most males in the pride, but it didn't seem to phase the lioness. She was proud of her size. After all, she'd been able to dominate that fool Hinoko, hadn't she?
That thought brought a smile to her face. A smile that was quickly extinguished when she thought of the lioness he'd taken to Thrall - before she'd taken him to mate, but that did not matter. The little voice inside of the lioness - her demon, perhaps - demanded that he stay true to her.
Even if it meant threatening her own sister.
As she approached Jezebeth, Melinoe merely sat a short distance away and waited.

The differences between Melinoe and Jezebeth were outstanding. Melinoe had inherited her grandfathers sheer size, while Jeze had been smaller framed like her mother. She was graceful, her movements well thought out before she took a step. And now that graceful swan of a demon, was stuck under the command of Hinoko. Truth be told, she found the domination endearing. She rather liked it. But her slave status was less than appealing. She was sure it wasn't worth it.
She really didn't ask for Hinoko's attention. If anything she fought it as much as she could. She had no time for anything besides a plan. Though her plans always failed and constantly she was trying in vain to escape his grip.
Her ruby eyes glittered as they connected with the matching eyes of her sister. She frowned a little, and sighed.
The look in Mel's eyes wasn't exactly friendly..and Jez knew she had the upperhand in size. Though Jez wouldn't go down easy. She knew to prepare to fight if she had to.

It was jealousy that was driving Melinoe. Pure and horrid jealousy. Hinoko seemed to prefer the company of her sister; this lit a fire deep in Melinoe's chest. She did not love Hinoko - but he belonged to her, and she would not share him with another.
Especially her sister.
"Jezebeth," the freeborn lioness hissed, dipping her head haughtily.
"How does the life of a slave treat you?" Her voice was loaded with poison. She did not hate her sister; what she despised was the mere thought of being second string to a slave.
Second best beneath her sister.

"That question reeks of ignorance, Melinoe." She said, though she really knew her sister probably was here under malice. She had always been the brute of them, and she supposed she wasnt going to change now.
"It could be worse. The company isn't always horrible." She said, and rolled her eyes with an exasperated sigh.
God.. She couldn't understand just WHY she had to be under her.. Why she had to be the one he married? It frustrated her, and caused her more irritation.

Melinoe was a little outraged that Jez would even hint that she was being ignorant. Melinoe was never ignorant. Melinoe was calm, cool, collected --
"You will stay away from Hinoko."
Okay, maybe she wasn't. But she was big, strong and determined. Maybe that counted for something?
"He belongs to me."

She rolled her eyes, and laid down to her belly. She simply wasn't interested in this conversation. Her spirit was still feeling broken since she had come to this awful place. Of course, it really wasn't THAT bad, it was just the position she held. How she wished she could be someone better, and have her OWN slaves.
"Like I have much choice in the matter." But then she looked deviantly at her sister.
"It's him who comes to me. Begging for me. Maybe this is a conversation better suited to be having with your Hinoko." She taunted, and arched an eyebrow.

Melinoe's lips parted in a snarl when Jez mentioned that Hinoko came begging. That stung, and Melinoe took another step forward. Then another. One more, until she was towering over her sister.
"I could ask him to free you. Perhaps I will. Perhaps then you would have no reason to stay." It was an option. Melinoe would not have to ask Hinoko to relieve Jez of her rank as thrall. Melinoe would berate him into submission. It was simply the way things were.
"Perhaps if you are... nice to me."

Jez knew not to give her sister too much power over her. She knew that she would use it against her the chance she got. So she tried not to show she was happy about the idea. She hated the idea of being a slave, though the dominated sex wasn't always bad.
"I won't be leaving the pride regardless of what happens, Melinoe." She said in a calm tone, teetering her eyes back up at her sister.
"And how nice does this nice have to be?"

Melinoe narrowed her eyes at Jez. Such a mouthy little thing she was. Back home that would have been worth admiring.
"Nice enough to turn my husband away should he come to you." Melinoe sniffed airily, doing her best to look absolutely bored by the conversation when she was anything but.
"Make yourself scarce, at least until I am with cub. I am certain after that he'll have no need for you."

"I give you my word, I will not go looking for him." She said, though it was clear by her tone that there was something else to what she said. She was promising one thing, but she knew far too well that he would force himself upon her. And Melinoe's words would do nothing to stop it.
"As you wish.' She grinned.

Melinoe didn't like that grin - she didn't like that grin at all. The big, dark lioness narrowed her eyes again at her sister until they were mere slits. She was furious, but dared not make too much of an outward show of her emotions.
She didn't want to give Jez that power over her.
With a low grunt and a parting, "Remember that, sister," Melinoe padded off - feeling no better over the situation at paw.
