~Story of Kelpie Cove~
Back when the age of Faetasia was merely new a Goddess was born. This Goddess was given the grace and speed of the Equines. Upon her back she carried wings while upon her head she carried a spiral. She was the keeper of balance for all the Faehorses be they light or dark. Overall there was a harmonious balance that existed among her kind and all was well.
But out of those depths something sinister arose and became quite a situation. While nothing ever phased Epona before somehow this creature she dubbed a Kelpie became dangerous. Not only was he a threat to the mortals but even to her fellow deities. The mortals weren't really her worries but the other Gods being involved was a serious dilemma.
When the daughter of the Empathy Goddess was kidnapped in pure spitefulness The Goddess set an example of this water menace. But when the Godling was found unharmed and pleaded for the Kelpie's life Epona made a decision.
She kept the kelpie away from the mortal land and made a decision. Containing the balance of the Equines was a difficult task in any solution she mustered. So with a heavy heart she created a female of the male kelpie's kind and gave her complete reign over those wicked Equines of the Murky Depths.
The Goddess Kallahast Verde harbored too much pride in watching over the male and created more of his kind. She made them stronger, faster, handsome, and finally wicked with a cunning nature. Most were made males for the females were made in her very image.
At first glance the females were lovely, beauties that could capture anyone's heart. But, they were stronger then the males with an insatiable killing lust. Soon the females pushed the males further away in swampland and murky waters claiming their own territories. The Kelpie Goddes grew proud of her children and grinned wickedly. How foolish the Equine Goddess had been to give her this domain. Soon the dark depths would rise and all the world become Kelpie Cove.
The Equine Goddess wasn't in the least bit ignorant to the darkness overcoming the light. Weaving a tapestry in strands of kelp she made the the Kelpie Goddess sign a contract so-to-speak. This was a binding contract which the Kelpies' hated but must obey rather they loose their freedom. Within the intricate image there lied a message : Female Kelpies will be born only when the moon is highest and captures a blue glow.
The Equine Goddess knew the Kelpie Goddess was powerful as she wove her children to life. The less females to haunt the swamps and bogs kept the Kelpies' under her control; at least for now.
