Forum dwellers are too defensive about their domain

OMG, You would not believe the flack I have gotten because I criticize the fact that the events are still too forum based. I already posted the rant about the current holiday event. Enough about that, this is about the forum dwellers who still think that Gaia is all about them. They don't seem to understand that there is so much more to Gaia than forums.

What gives with them anyway?

I saw your thread, too, and if the devs
gave zOMG as much attention as they do with the 'main' parts of
Gaia, items and forums, then I could definitely
see it dwarfing forums in a heartbeat. I'm
not sure if Guilds would do that too since
they're very similar, but if Gaia
advertised zOMG more and we suddenly
had more gamers flocking in then it
could probably happen. Honestly
I prefer it to forums exactly for that kind of
mentality they seem to have, that they're the
only community that matters.

I guess it kind of happens to any society that
has a melting pot, but I couldn't
tell you for sure since I technically belong
to several sorts of subcultures that Gaia has.
I'm a guild person all the way, I'm sort of a
forums person, I'm a zOMG player,
and I guess you could sort of call me
a hoarder though I'm nowhere
near a seasoned one and I'm a bit
intimidated to talk to those
who are simply because I'm
'not one of them'. They sort of
stick together and it bugs me.
