Tohru was born in a small town just south of Ba Sing Se and lived there up until it was revealed that she was the Avatar. She didn't even find out she was the Avatar until she was about 6. One day, her and her friends were messing around on a dock at the side of a river. Tohru was accidentally pushed in and almost got swept away. This was, however, until the avatar state kicked in. Using the incredible powers she possessed, she was able to freeze over the river and free herself. Now, Tohru was known as an Earthbender in the village, so this little display of waterbending was a shock.

Members of the white lotus were sent to investigate the village's claims of having the Avatar, and upon discovery, Tohru and her family were quickly relocated to the inner ring of Ba Sing Se. It was here that she was watched over until she was 16 and began her avatar training. This is where her story takes off.

xxxxxShe grew up in the halls of the Royal Palace with her younger sister Nikki. Together they were quite the pair of pranksters and were given the affectionate title of "The Wild Ban'Shu Sisters." They were not the daughters of the Earth King of the time, but were a part of the Royal Linage as daughters of a Duke. Their mother had died not soon after Nikki was born and their father was in poor health. As it became evident that Layna would be the one to ascend the throne the royal advisers attempted to break her of her wild ways. They were able to quell them enough so she was well mannered, proper, and overall queenly. However, despite their greatest efforts Layna would not give it up entirely. When the formalities have ended and she isn't needed as Queen she relaxes and let's loose.

xxxxxAs the spirits began to assault the world her people were put on edge. When tensions began to rise Queen Layna was forced to quiet many disturbances herself and even try to defend against spirits. Things were going worrisome as fights were beginning in even the Upper ring of Ba Sing Se. Then suddenly the Avatar was found and to the joy of the kingdom she was an Earthbender.

After the Avatar Organized the Gong Jen, Layna chose it would be best if she leave the throne, join the Kingdom's council and become a full member of the new group.

Being very fortunate, Nikki and her older sister Layna grew up in the royal palace of the Earth Country, though they weren't related to the current Earth King of the time, they were part of the Royal Linage that would soon take control when their time comes. Being the daughters of a Duke was extremely relaxing, but also trouble as both Nikki and Layna combined, were the ultimate tricksters in the whole palace, giving them a title of The Wild Ban'Shu Sisters. There was something wrong with their parents, their mother was weak during Nikki's childbirth, and died a few years after her birth, but their father was extremely ill, which he also passed away, leaving them alone. As they grew older, the Royalty kept changing hands until it was Layna's turn, accepting her place as Queen as Nikki accepted her place as Princess.

She has a pet snake named Mali, who is normally wrapped around her arm while they are together but in Nikki's rock garden as her home while Nikki isn't around to be with her.

Tian is quite friendly. He normally isn't overtly rude to someone unless he's given a reason. He speaks in polite english, rarely using any sort of slang. Tian is very straight forward, and because frustrated when he can't get from point A to point B in the most expedited way possible. He flirts on occasion. Due to the nature of his past, he harbors quite a lot, both in grief and anger, but he's quite skilled at concealing it, that and any other emotion for that matter. Tian was born into a low class earth kingdom family in the outer ring of Ba Sing Se. He doesn't remember what happened to his mother, but he is under the impression that she is deceased, a fact backed up by existence of her tomb stone. Before his mother passed (Tian was 4), she gave birth to another son. Things were good at first, but you could tell that Tian's father was changing, and not for the better. Around the time Tian was 6 or 7, he discovered that he was a natural earthbender, this was by accident of course, and never happened as an actual earthbender would use it. More or less manifesting itself in pebbles flying across the room, and tripping over small potholes he accidentally created. It was also by this time that Tian's father became rather abusive, both physically and mentally. Not knowing any better, Tian always blamed himself. The violence reached it peak when Tian was 11. After dinner one night, Tian's brother had accidentally broken a vase that had been in the family for years. His father snapped, and proceeded to beat the young boy. Tian tried to stop it but his father's greatest strength was clearly to much and he was just shrugged off. When all was said and done, Tian's brother was dead. Beaten to death. Tian's father, thinking quickly, convinced the young Tian that if he truly loved him and his brother that he would tell the dai li that his brother's death was his fault, letting his father off the hook. He complied, and was arrested quickly. It was ruled an accident, and Tian was institutionalized for 7 years before finally being released. While institutionalized, a festering hatred of his father grew, and was repressed, causing damage to his psyche. While locked up, he practiced small amounts of earthbending. However, not being able to grasp it alone, he couldn't do more than levitate small pebbles across his cell. After being discharged, he decided that he wants to become a master earthbender, and he's now found himself trying to get an audience with the Earth Queen and her court.

Personality: It's easy to depress Noir and he normally dislikes talking to others because of his lone wolf nature, not that he's a real loner...he's just terribly shy around people. He has a boatload of mixed feelings on everything and normally is indecisive, but he can make split-second decisions when faced with a tough choice oddly enough. He's normally indifferent and doesn't take sides unless it is completely clear where he stands, with or against. He is drawn to the colors black and white since they remind him so much of himself, and he makes it clear that the color pink makes him physically ill. Around a pretty girl he goes silent and normally tries to look away from them in an embarrassed manner, he'd rather not say something stupid and embarrass himself further. Embarrassment is the only time a color can be seen on his pale face, if somebody knows what buttons to push they can make his face light up like a christmas tree. These are some of the only times he can show a fair amount of emotion, he does not show anger unless it is extreme.
Take on battle: Noir is primarily not against fighting others, no matter the form in comes in, he'll kill without a second thought and feel no regret for those he hurt during the battle unless they're an ally or a friend to him. Something strange about him is the lash of fighting spirit he seems to hold within him...whenever he fights his mind body, and spirit come alive and allow him to fight full force. It can quickly faded when the battle's over, but after a fight is the best time for somebody to get him to be emotional instead of impassive.

Noir is by far one of the most tragic people in the world. He lost his parents to disease at a young age and was raised with a bunch of other homeless children. He ran away at the age of five and watched his world fall around him for years, eventually he became indifferent, not caring what happened to him or if he lived/died at any time. At the age of eleven he was given Noir and Weiss, he was also told by the stranger that gave him the swords to become one with his blades. In doing so Noir named himself after the black blade, he became Noir instead of being nameless forever. He became a mercenary at a young age, doing odd jobs for money that normally involved killing things, and he was good at it. Noir began practicing different ways to fight, he began to work his body every day until he passed out, but he hadn't changed in appearance all that much. It didn't matter, the more he worked himself the better he became at everything he did, eventually he dropped out of the sword for hire business and worked for himself, while still a freelancer he is mostly out of the field for personal reasons. One of the reasons is the fact that he can't train himself as hard while waiting for an odd job to come up so he's forsaken that kind of work. His new set goal currenly doesn't even exist, he's looking for a goal...a purpose, a reason, like everybody else in this crazy world.

Weapon Description: Odd swords that seem to never leave Noir's side, one of the reasons being he named himself after one of the weapons. Noir is a black tonfa blade, and Weiss is a white tonfa blade. Both blades are straight blades and their complete length is from Noir's shoulder down past his fingers. Weiss has a message carved on to it in black that says "Even in darkness..." while Noir has a white message carved on to its black surface that says "You will be the light." For Weiss Noir wears a black handguard that covers everything up to his wrist, and for Noir he was a white handguard which leaves his fingers unprotected with a V shape where it should be defending the wrist due to him having broken the white handguard before. Both handguards have a sleek design and have the opposite colors running through them like everything else Noir owns. On the palm of his black handguard is an X shaped mark since he used it to block a sword twice, these marks aren't prominent and can easily be missed.

Matthew was born into an underprivileged earth nation family. His father was a very humble and giving man and his mother was quite. They lived happily in the calm countryside of the earth nation. Born and raised in the Earth Country, Zaiaku was the son of one of the commanders leading the forces of the Earth Nation, and his mother a teacher at the academy. Whenever his father wasn't overseas, he took the young boy aside and taught him about Earth Bending and the various special types of bending that come in hand with their nation's style. Excited, Zai was eager to learn more which was a promise his father made once he returns he'll teach him. However, not every promise can be kept. When the war was over with the Fire Nation, a member of the Royal Palace delivered the news to his mother and Zai of his father's death. Taking out a case with a small note, he gave the young boy the package and left. The note was a last will of his father; requesting him to take to the Academy and learn everything he can. The gift, was a weapon crafted by the weapon's smith. Two blades that can be connected together to form either a staff or a double-edge weapon if not used seperately. Xenith was born far out in the middle of nowhere to a beautiful woman named Tonya and a caring father by the name of Coda. The two raised Xenith with compassion and generosity, making sure that they did their best to watch over him like any good parents would. For the most part, they felt like they were doing a good job.
Xenith grew up on his father’s farm helping to heard cattle and cut crops for profit. By doing this, he became a very reliable young man who received the blessing of his father.
One night while Xenith was sleeping soundly at the age of twelve, he heard the cries of his mother from outside their small home. When he walked outside, he found his mother lying dead on the ground. He didn’t know how to handle the situation so he did the only thing he could think of which was run and tell his father who was still asleep. After telling him though, Coda, Xenith’s father, didn’t go outside. Instead, he turned right back around and went back to sleep. This both angered and confused Xenith beyond belief. He didn’t know why his father would so eagerly give up on his own wife.

It wasn’t until Xenith would be sixteen that he learned of his mother’s terrible past. She was betraying the earth kingdom by handing over information about the earth’s status over to the fire nation. Although it wasn’t exactly being a traitor to her country, she was executed in the dead of night none the less.
After hearing about this, Xenith took off, ready to make a name for himself and restore the honor that had been stripped of his family. The only thing he left behind was his father who barely even does anything now that his wife is dead.

Michael was born in Republic City. His mother was an air bender, and his father an earth bender. According to his family tree he has had at least one of every bending type in his tree. Still, Michael has yet to show if he is a bender or not. Growing up on the streets of Republic City after his parents mysterious disappearance forced him to grow up fast and take care of himself. He was always trying to help the younger street urchins. Defending them to the point of risking his own life. One day, sick of waking up in the gutters every day he decided to pack up what he had and go try his luck in the earth nation. Kira-Hachi was born on November 28, XXXX. He was raised by an Earth-Bending father and Earth Bending Mother. When he was being birthed, the earth around their home was rampant and raging, although it did not affect his family, the landscape around them was devastating. for the first week he was born, they could not decide a name for him. They decided to travel to Omashu in hopes of finding inspiration. As they passed through a desert area. Large flying killer bees were trying to attack them. Through pure miracle Kira-Hachi kicked up with his right foot and summoned and earth spike, plunging directly into the bee's heart. His parents were stunned. As the hot sun beamed on their heads, they began to continue on route. A large inescapable buzzing sound was growing behind them and it was approcahing fast. They turned around and seized a sight of a hundred plus killer bees heading for them. Kira-Hachi thought they were here to play to he began kicking his feet wildly in excitement. And with each kick, the earth spewed out a sharp spike that punctured and killed each killer bee. At that moment they Knew his name. "Kira-Hachi Ken". Kira-Hachi Ken means Killer-Bee Sting.
Kira-Hachi grew up with fighting as his first nature. As a growing boy he could not be contained to work or be still. His mother or father would often have to lock him up in an earth cage half the time. Kira-Hachi's second nature allowed him to bend the cages away and set himself free to roam again. Kira-Hachi grew up with and uncontrollable desire for train and fight and his father took pride in him. At age 10 Kira-Hachi was entered in freindly bending tournaments and sparring matches. he always came out on top. At age 15 Kira-Hachi was sent to a special earth bending school to specialize in manipulation of the earth and it's qualities. After his two years were done, at age 17, he returned home to greet his mother and father with welcome arms. When news of the spirit world attacks and other other-worldly incidents had reached his town everyone became paranoid. His family went to hide underground with supplies and lived there for 3 months. One disastrous fay came along and his father was taken by a large dragon-serpent spirit. He consoled his mother's grief and left out immediately to find the avatar.
