xxxxxLayna walked briskly through the palace halls up to the throne room. She was little agitated because today she was required to wear the rather stuffy and traditional robes of the Earth Queen. She was a bit of a fashionista and enjoyed clothes from all over the world and could nearly find a way to wear anything but there was no getting around the rigid tradition deep seated in the green and gold cloth of the Queen's dress. She entered the room and took her seat on the throne.

xxxxxThere was at least one thing there to ease her irritated look and that was a fresh cup of black tea and a waiting lemon wedge perched on the arm of the chair. Taking a sip the Queen exhaled a sigh, sunk in the chair a bit, and look to helpers beside the throne, "Where's my sister?" Nikki still had that wild tendency to her, Layna did not doubt she had already caused some kind of mess in the palace today. Like using one of the columns to make a sculpture or letting her snake wander into a visiting guest's room. But it was early in the day so perhaps they were safe from mayhem for now.

Dressed and fully prepared as she has been notified that some guest would be staying in the palace as they had some topics to discuss with her and her sister. She looked in the mirror and played with her long hair, changing positions on her shoulders to see which side it should be on today, but she always kept is on her right shoulder for a reason. She sighed as the morning was boring, so she looked at her garden. "Mila." She called out as a snake slithered into her room and up to her leg, which she gently stroke the top of Mila's head with a single finger. "Go into our guess room...and...wake them." She said with a smile as Mila slithered out of her room and into the hallway, sneaking around until she approached the guest room and entered.

After a few minutes, the snake finally moved onto the guest's bed and all of a sudden a scream echoed through the halls and Mila fled the room and back into Nikki's. "Aww..good girl." She said with a laugh and stroked her head once more and Mila went back into the garden. "Man, Layna is going to kill me one day." She giggled as she got up and left her room and entered the throne room. "Hello dear sister." She said with a smile as she sat on her smaller throne next to Layna's.

[just a little tid bit, Tohru is being held in Ba sing Se till she master's earthbending or is released, lol. Avatar duties and all]

Tohru rose from the ground in a spiraling motion, only to get stuck half way up. She struggled for a moment before slamming her hands on the ground, forcing a pillar to push her out of the hole. Landing with a thud, the young Avatar rubbed her back and replied, "Dunno, but as consolation, you get an Avatar, here to beg to leave the city, as is my custom, Your Highness."

xxxxxIt was like clock work. Not a second after Layna asked after her sister a scream echoed the halls of the palace. The queen hid her face in her hands. Only when Nikki arrived did she remove her palms from her face. "Niknak, what did you do?" She asked looking to her sister with a curious look. Her attention was drawn as the Avatar arrived from the floor. "Oh, Avatar! How wonderful to meet you finally. I bet after a few days here you'll beg to stay. Though I hope you don't plan on traversing the city through tunnels all the time."

She smiled to her sister. "Oh nothing Juju, nothing to worry about, though im sure you know what probably happened." She laughed and then the Avatar appeared, which Nikki didn't say a thing to her as her sister was speaking, but gave the Avatar a warm smile.

Tohru gave an unnerved laugh, "See, that's the thing...I'm being held here till I master Earthbending, and I dont mean to brag but, I'm pretty good. I've excelled past all the local academies and bending schools, but I still cant leave...so I figure, 'Hey, just talk to the queen, she'll get you out.'...so...could you give an order to get the elders off my back, or if you knew a master earthbender...well...ya," As she went about her rambling, Tohru brushed off the dirt from her cloth and face, but only succeeded in smudging it even more.

xxxxx"I'm sorry young avatar, even my hands are tied by tradition. You'll have to stay here until you're a master. Thankfully I'm considered pretty good at earthbending. Maybe we can get you to master level in no time." She offered sitting up straight in her throne.

Tohru bowed to the queen, "I'd be happy to take you up on that offer. The sooner I can leave, the better. Nothing wrong with your city, just...dunno if you could tell, but I'm a colony girl...fire nation actually. Anyway, ya..the city just isn't my scene...when do we start?"

That actually excited her for a moment. "Hey, do you think i can tag along?" She asked. "I need to start learning these things." She said with a embarrassed laugh.

Tian took a very deep breath. He was standing before the expansive earth palace, a beautiful and immaculate structure that was the center of all the workings in Be Sing Se. Living in the city his entire life, he never once even saw the palace in passing. Tian dug through his robes, procuring a folded up piece of paper. He gripped it tightly before finally releasing and unfolding it. A large red stamp with the character for "approved" was stamped right in the middle of the earth queen audience form. He was half way there, he just hoped that she would listen to what he had to say, and maybe take him up on it. His wooden geta clacked on the stone ground like a hooves, the sound echoed through the court-yard. Tian slowly climbed the front staircase, his approval papers still held out in front of him.

xxxxx"Fire nation colony? Then it's understandable that you wish to leave soon." Layna laughed and stood up from her throne. She looked to her sister he was giving an embarrassed laugh. "Oh finally going to get going on your earthbending training Niknak? Wonderful, I'm sure it'll be an interesting experience to learn beside the Avatar. I know it'll be for me as the one leading the lessons." She looked about the wide room and adjusted her hair ornaments. They could travel down to the training grounds but what was the point of making the trip when they had a large enough room.

xxxxxLayna looked to her attendants, "Fetch training gear and bring it here." Her words caused one of her advisers to start to protest. The Queen looked to him and smiled sweetly, "Now would you rather I cause a stir in the city and bring the Avatar, The Princess, and myself into the publicly used training grounds or can I just use my throne room to guide them?" the Adviser stepped back and sighed. Triumphant she descended the stairs of the throne platform taking the bulkier parts of her Queenly robes off. The equipment was rolled in and placed about the room. "Give me a show first, so I can get a feel for what you know and how strong your basics are."

A guard halted Tian as he would reach the top of the stairs, "State your name and business." He said gruffly.

"A test? Alright, lemme lay a little something on you," Tohru said, cracking her knuckles as she curled her hands into fists. She began by giving one step forward and thrusting out both hands, causing a large rock wall to raise a few feet away from her. As soon as the wall rose, she pulled both fists back, making the wall slide right in front of her. Once the wall was in place, Tohru repeatedly punched the wall, sending small chunks of rock flying from the wall with each strike. After 4 consecutive punches, the young avatar motion downward, sinking the wall back into the ground. "Please, please, hold your applause," she bragged, thinking she was truly impressive.

"Ooh." Tian said quite audibly when he was met at the top of the stairs. "Muscles..." He mumbled, poking the guard's arm, before shaking his head vigorously to try and focus. Tian unfolded the piece of paper that he had been holding in front of him, and turned it to face the guard who'd stopped him. "I've been approved. I seek an audience with the Queen, matter dealing with earthbending." He said giving a nod. "I would much appreciate it if you escorted me to throne room." He said, a grin on his face. Waiting to be escorted, Tian folded his papers back up and put them in his sleeve.
