Fen sat at the desk staring out the front windows. She watched people walk by the shop, some stopping to look at the vases in the window. When they noticed her staring at them, they walked away. Jumping to her feet, she turned on a small radio which was on the verge of breaking. Turning the dial, she stopped on the station coming out the clearest, which projected a man's voice talking about issues she did not understand. Bored, she went back to the desk and played with the clay animals sitting on it.

Cody looked around but then soon stumbled upon the pottery store, he thought about how he had seen this sign before but never went inside. He looked around but then thought about the pottery, the door ringing the bells hanging above the door as he began to walk around curiously, "Hmm..." he said thinking about how everything looked.

By this time Fen had a colony of knick knacks on the desk, made up of several small critter families. Blankly staring at the customer, she tried to casually slide her arm across the desk and move the statues. "...Hello," she said, sitting up straight. "Can I help you find anything today?" Fen said with her gapped smile.

Cody looked at her when she began to move the statues, it seemed like a good thing that she was an earthbender but he thought about it, "Um... yes actually, its my mother's birthday and I was wondering if you had any special vases... maybe any that have special meaning for an earthbender or something along those lines?" He asked curiously, he knew of earthbending and learned about the different cultures but living in a diverse family, he didn't go that deep into any of them.

Fen thought for a moment. "I think I might have something," she said before going to a back room. She came back with a white china vase and struggled to put it on the desk. "We didn't make this one, my dad found it in an antique shop when he visited the Earth Kingdom. It has a lot of writing on it, but I can't read so I can't tell you what it says. It's pretty, though," she said. "Am I headed in the right direction?"

Cody looked at her when she walked away from the front desk but then when she came back with the vase, he smiled, "Thats wonderful." He said thinking that his mother would like that but when he saw her struggle a bit, he looked at her curiously, "Are you okay?" He asked curiously, the vase didn't seem that heavy.

"I'm fine," Fen said, rolling up her sleeves. "I'm not very strong, though." She started to gather paper to wrap the vase in. "This is 12 yuans, by the way." she said. "Would you like it to be gift wrapped?"

(If you don't want me quoting, sorry, its how I respond to people... sweatdrop ) Cody looked at her when she said that but nodded, "Thats fine, and sure, here you go." he said getting 12 yuans out, adding a couple more for a tip for her carrying it in from the back. He then thought about it, "Nah, thank you though... so are you the only one that works here?" He asked curiously to her.

Layering newspaper onto the vase, Fen said, "Sometimes. Right now my father is on a business trip and mom is shopping at the market. My brother is sleeping upstairs; he came home late last night. He'll be mad at me if I wake him up to write receipts." Fen carefully placed the vase into a brown paper bag. "Hold this from the bottom," she said.

Cody looked at her when she said that, "Alright... well thank you again for the service." he said kindly to her but then thought about it as he picked up the bag, "My name is Cody by the way." he said kindly to her.

Cody nodded but thinking about the pottery, he smiled, "Keep the change... its a tip from having to carry this... and besides, I might come in and buy some simple clay pots to use for target practice... I need a target to use for my sword." He said thinking about how using clay pots seemed better then using a moving trainer.

"Oh... Okay. Thank you," Fen said, her eyes lighting up a bit. She pocketed the spare coins to be put in her piggy bank later. Fascinated, she asked, "You know how to use a sword?" The radio started to crackle. She shut it off, no loner wanting to listen to the droning voices emitting from the old thing. Besides, the conversation was getting interesting.

Cody saw her eyes lighten up when she pocketed the money but then he thought about what she said as she seemed fascinated, "Yeah... I am training with one... I come from a family of benders but gained none of their abilities... so I thought that if anything, I could match their skill by becoming a master swordsmen... I am close to a good fighting level." he said proudly. He then heard the radio but thought about it, "I can fix that for you if you want." He offered kindly to her.
