Kai arrived soon after, not finding an opportune moment to escape, mainly the fault of the constant guards and having to follow, or at least feeling the need to follow, near behind the Fire Lord. Stopping as they reached the grounds, he wondered about the others that had come to the palace. They, apparently, actually wanted to come and weren't captured like him and being punished. He could have attempted to escape with at least a 50:50 chance of success a few times now, however, he liked his nuts in place, so he decided the risk too high for the job. For now, he waited. He didn't know where, but his neutrality was considered a strategy by some armies. Well, that was a side note.

"Hm? Ah, no, I'd rather not do something like boxing, it's too painful for frail little me," Kai said without a second thought, his depressing words not showing on his smiling face. In truth, he wasn't really good with hand-to-hand things like boxing, since his idea of winning is to lose less then the other person. Both would lose something, not much gain, but however lost more was the loser. That was how he fought; safe, sneaky, and rather unfairly. It was more fun that way, to see how others would try to fight against something beyond or below what they were expecting, to see their hope and chances be crushed by his randomness and cowardly tactics.

"Fire is the element of power, people of the Fire Nation have desire and will and they have the energy and drive to achieve what they want," said Jay as he circled the three, "you shall be doing Traditional Firebending first, its essential and not having it is like riding waves on a kayak without a damned paddle." Jay breathed in and out as the flames around the area rose and then fell, continuously without fail, "in the first stage, the key is that of breathing and movement, simple as that, when you've finished the stage and its skills, it should work something like this." Jay finished breathing in and out, he threw multiple punches to the air and sent small flames upward as he did so, then outwards towards the group, close to give a scare but not close enough to harm them. He released a large cloud of smoke from his nose and then inhaled it back in. Jay then exhaled bright flames from his mouth to the sky itself, it was a light cloud of embers though. Finally, Jay's fingertips, or rather, the index and middle finger began to brighten to that of a reddish glow, he then stabbed his fingers into the ground itself as the area around his fingers slowly melted. He pulled his fingers out of the ground and clenched that hand into a fist.

㊋ Sun Bei Tian ㊋
"I'm packing a lot of heat..."
⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹
Sun gave a nod. "Well, when you put it like that...guess we'll start out with all the philosophy whatnots." He said, somewhat jokingly. Traditional was good, but times changed quickly. How long would it take to become completely inferior? While the moves displayed by Jay were impressive, he would always be a little skeptical.
Sun began his breathing exercises. They seemed simple enough...for breathing. He sat down and shut his eyes and simply concentrated on taking deep breaths and being steady about inhaling and exhaling, creating a rhythm. [1/6]
He slowly started to changed the flow and pacing of his breaths. This would prepare his lungs for rapid changes in combat and speed. He realized this wasn't at all spiritual or philosophical, it was simply conditioning the lungs for the intense heat and exertion in battle. He continued this until he felt comfortable with it [2/6]
Next, he would speed the breathing up dramatically, increasing his heartrate. He decided that this would be so his lungs could take the air in quickly and as needed while in high pressure situations. His breaths were shallow and rapid. [3/6]
Sun would now work down from that, slowing his breaths to being very infrequent and deep. Shutting his eyes while he sat down, he breathed in slowly, every so often. Everything seemed to block out and he could almost feel his heart stop after such an exertion from before. [4/6]
Next was incorporating them into the movements. He stood up, and got into a Firebending stance that he observed from Jay. It was a little different, in the fact that it was a little looser and dull-looking...not as theatric. Sun moved through the movements, feeling almost nothing at all in terms of fatigue due to breathing. [5/6]
Finally, he picked up the movements. He was mimicking a Firebender to the exact movement, and even quicker too. He even added some of his own personal flare in there to customize it. Utilizing the breathing exercises from earlier, he was able to continue this for a long time before beginning to slightly pant. [6/6]
Once satisfied, Sun sat down and took a quick break. "Well...I enjoyed that. Sort of." he told Jay and looked to the others to observe their progress. He would get back in the training soon...he just needed a bit of a rest.

"With just boxing, one would just kill you before you got close enough to punch them, like bringing a knife to a bomb fight," Kai commented, deciding to give up on escaping, not because he wasn't confident, but more so that he didn't care about that, this current situation seemed more interesting. Not that he was an expert or studied in pyrology, but he was a rationalist and had a good imagination, so he could visualize the idea of "Fire" more than most. It wasn't a simple element, since it's power didn't come from any mass like the other elements, so it was harder to "hold" and control. He wasn't foolish as to trick himself into thinking that he was a god of fire and couldn't be hurt by it(1/9). Not that he was trying to be more friendly, he simply felt like talking about it. It was interesting, to say the least, the concept of bending, the Avatar, and chi had always fascinated Kai to an extent, but not enough before that he would go out of his way to learn some fire tricks, but now that he was in this situation, he figured he might as well use this as an opportunity to think about it some more.
