 Hadiya had spent the last few days roaming along the border to this “Viking” pride. He had heard a few things about them over the last few months, mostly about their pillaging and how every so often there would be fights, “challenges”, along the border to show strength and finds those worthy of welcoming in to the pride. At first he thought it nothing but nonsense, but slowly and surely it started to peak his interest, so here he was, walking back and forth like some kind of idiot as he waiting for a pride member to show up.
Would he simply question them, or take up a challenge, he didn’t know. He guessed it would depend on who showed up. Though, the opportunity to prove his worth was tempting, so yeah, he would probably knock some skulls and release some anger.
With an aggravated grunt, the large male settled on the ground, "Tch, this better be worth my time."

She had been keeping to the outskirt area of the pride, almost like a scout. Though really she had no desire to actually -be- a scout. It was more curiousity that drove her. Today was no different. Her paws moved slowly as the wind hit her face and she smiled. Today was going to be a good day, she could feel it.
Though with the breeze came the scent of another contender. She smiled again, yes that was a good sign. Leaping off the stone she had been standing on, she trotted her way closer to the smell.
The male was large, but size was of no matter to her. She was not afraid of him, just as he was likely not afraid of her. She was a bigger female, her frame solid. She knew she could hold her own.
"Can I help you?" She asked.

The male’s ears pinned back, a growl escaping his tightening lips as the female came in to sight and approached him. If this was the one whom he would end up battling for his right to enter the pride, then he didn’t know what to say. Yeah, most said you should never judge someone by appearance alone, but still, he wasn’t so sure about going toe to toe with a female, even if she looked like she could easily hold her own. Didn’t matter much anyway. A fight is a fight, and if she wanted a fight, then he would gladly give her one.
Giving a grunt, Hadiya looked up at the female with a raised brow.
“I don’ know, Sunshine. Can ya?” he climbed to his paws and shook himself loose. “I heard that I could find a good fight along thes’ borders, and maybe, I don’ know, make my way in to an interestin’ pride. Is tis true, or am I jus’ hearin’ rubbish? If it is true, then…” he looked her up and down with a chuckle and a smirk. “You gonna fight me?”

She had met many others, who refused to fight her because of something like her gender. She had proven almost all of them wrong in her years, but she still didn't like to boast. She was the type to get things out of the way, and this guy.. He looked like he wanted to join the ranks. He was a big fellow, though she wasn't tiny, and so she stood as confident as he did.
She smiled at him, then the smile turned deviant when he called her sunshine. Nicknames had been something given in the pirates.. She didn't want to think about leaving the lands she had grown up in, and then relocating here. Hiding her identity forever more. No one knew anything about her past, and she would tell no one.
"Don't call me sunshine." She growled, and arched her own eyebrow.
"I can hold my own, believe me. But it's true, yes. I shall like to see how you hold up against me. Mister big brave male lion." She grinned, and lunged at him, claws extended as she ran at him.

Shrugging, Hadiya just smirked at the female's reaction. If "Sunshine" was something that hit a button then he would have to remember to file that away somewhere should he ever run in to her again. He wasn't one that liked to push buttons and annoy others, but there was nothing wrong with it every now and again, especially when he himself was being pushed.
"Tch. If you can really hold your own, then I'll hold my tongue, for now anyway."
It was going to trouble, there was no doubt about that. While being large made it easier to intimidate others, and gave more power behind a strike, it also had the downfall of being easier to hit, and being slightly slower than most. He wasn't going to allow that to weight him down though. Not now.
Letting out a growl, Hadiya pushed himself to side in an effort to dodge the lioness' attack, and while he managed to escape the brunt of it he still rolled away with a small cut along his cheek. There was no time to think about that now though. He had to stay on his toes and ahead of the game if he wanted to win.
Quickly, he lunged at her in an attempt to jump upon her to pin her down. Maybe he he could stop her movement things would be a bit easier, that or it would just turn in to a dirty wrestling match...
