Why she was here again, she had no idea.

After the isles she had vowed to live on the positive side of life and, you know, be normal; clearly it wasn't in her cards, as she ended up in that damned house anyway. She had initially wanted to leave when she found that familiar hallway by accident, but as she tried to pass it by a little voice piped up in her head; it whispered to her, encouraging her to at least go check it out. After all, what was the harm in a little exploration? It went so well the last few times!

So there she was, wandering the Haunted House by herself, her entire body tense and alert for any signs of patrolling Hunters, traps, or just...anything that could make someone fuss over her in the end. Her exploration took her to a rather plain room that made her feel...kind of powerful, actually. She felt strong for once...

There was a darkness that lingered in the halls, a darkness that was not the result of any monster or demon. Or rather... at least not any monster or demon from Halloweentown. No, the darkness that lingered within the worn wooden walls of the haunted house could be attributed to a single individual, an entity dressed nearly completely in black and white. Black and white... like it symbolized her view on the world, the starkness of right and wrong. There was no grey, only good and evil. The heels of Petra's spats boots clicked in sharp clarity as she moved down the hall, only accentuating this fact, her midnight blue eyes focused with that same darkness on the rows of doors which appeared every so often.

She needed to work off some energy. There was something wrong, something underneath her skin that would not let her relax, would not let her settle. Her fingers worked over the handle of her mace, tightening and untightening over and over in no particular pattern, the muscles in her shoulders coiling beneath her hunter's coat as she half-dragged Cain behind her. She needed to hurt something, something that deserved to be hurt. This she knew, and so her feet had taken her to the haunted house, where she had got her first real taste of crushing decomposing flesh beneath the spikes of her mace.

Where she'd first met Amrita. Even now, as she walked, the skull-faced girl appeared in her mind's eye, appearing a half-second before she stepped into the room where the other girl was. For half a second she paused, surprised and yet somehow not at all so. Cain had known, had felt the presence of FEAR, and had gently guided her towards the fight she so craved.

"You."

There was hate in her tone. Unadulterated hate, the kind not often found. The type bred from darkness.

Amrita had been about to turn and leave the room when the sharp click, click, click of boots permeated the silence, followed by the sound of dragging. Her instincts told her to run before it saw her, to flee before something happened; but there was another voice, that second voice that urged her to stay. After all it could be a Hunter, and no Hunter should be allowed to wander this place; it was too close to Halloween.

She knew she shouldn't be surprised to see the Hunter; she knew it was coming, and yet she couldn't stop the way her eyes widened, or the way her chest became tighter in rising panic. All Hunters looked alike to her; white coats of suffering, nothing more. Yet this one seemed...familiar somehow. An odd sense of nostalgia came back to her as she stared at those seething blue eyes, though something was off. Something had changed with this particular Hunter and yet...she was pretty sure she knew this one. Knew her very well; in fact, this Hunter's weapon had been embedded in her skin on several occasions, she realized as her grey eye turned down to the item in question.

"I'm sorry." Amrita apologized quietly, trying to look as innocently confused as possible. "Have we met?" Oh, she knew this Hunter; she recognized her, she hated her...after all, this was one of the first she had met. One of the first to attack her and leave a mark.

Yet she wouldn't give her the satisfaction of knowing just how deep those marks went. Not yet.

Petra laughed mirthlessly at Amirta's response, the sound echoing eerily off the walls of the room. It was surprisingly empty, the worn, cracked wood showing none of the illusions it had sported the first time they had been there, but the moon hunter knew it too intimately to be fooled. It was the same room, the very one where she had met the veela before all those months ago, where Phoenix had nearly destroyed the pinstripe-clad group. The monster wasn't wearing the suit now, nor was her face destroyed as it had been then, but she knew it was the same one, the same creature she had tried so hard to destroy. Petra did not believe in god, but if she did, she would have thought that perhaps he was giving her another chance to redeem herself. And make no mistake, she would crush that skull beneath her mace, and take pleasure in whatever putrid blood pooled on the floor at her feet.

"Quite assuredly," she replied, her voice as hollow and dead as a corpses', that same cold hate gleaming in her midnight blue eyes, "My company and I attempted to neutralize you and yours."

The walls echoed as Petra took another few slow steps forward, her heels clicking again on the wood. Although her eyes flicked to the room, quickly scanning over it to take a quick inventory, her gaze slid back to Amrita within a few moments, not allowing the girl any room to gain an upper hand. The moon hunter also did not give the Veela any chance to escape either, keeping her body between the Amityville student and the door at all times, even as she drew a little closer. Only when she was a few feet away, close enough to lash out with her mace if she so chose, did she stop. Cain, however, stayed by her side, her muscles tight but her posturing seeming mostly inoffensive. Petra's eyes slid slowly over the other girl, clearly analyzing her as if she were nothing more than an animal or a piece of meat, returning to he face only after a good few moments of silence.

"With a full face you look almost... human," she continued, her tone almost thoughtful. But her eyes said different, her expression still cold.

"But you're not."

Amrita was made of fear, and yet when Petra laughed a chill ran down her spine. Laughter should never sound like that. Ever. Even more when the Hunter continued to sound as lifeless as her own kind, yet somehow managed to absolutely radiate pure hatred. Yet, despite her discomfort at the way this Hunter presented herself, she wasn't backing down, she wasn't going to start to tremble or stutter; that wasn't her anymore. She wasn't that confused little ghoul anymore.

"Oh yes, I can see you're a Hunter. Your coat gives you away." She stood her ground, she continued to make eye contact, and more than that, she grinned. "But you're just another face to me." No matter where Petra moved, no matter how she turned or gestured or closed the distance between them, Amrita stood her ground and never once turned more than her side to the woman. "But I do have to ask...why are you trying to kill us? We didn't do anything to you." It was nearly exactly what she had asked that day in the Haunted House, during the first attack. Grey eyes narrowed on her as she spoke about her face, bringing in the fact that she looked human. Well it was true she possessed remains, but whether or not they had once been human was the question; even she didn't know. There were graveyards here as there were there, apparently.

"Neither are you." Amrita said calmly, though deep within her undead chest she thought she could feel her heart start to beat; it was a rare occurance, usually brought on by a fear reaction similar to adrenaline - though chances were it was just the feeling of a beating heart, but the heart actually beating. Either way there was a sensation she wasn't used to, spurred by the idle banter between one of the angriest hunters she had ever met. She actually had no idea whether or not Hunters were really human, but she did know that they didn't give off FEAR like normal humans, plus the whole seeing halloween and wielding weapons from it's denizens thing. If she was human, she wasn't a right human, in any case.
