[PRP] Shadows (Bacca and Basti)

[Bilious]

Something was lurking in the trees.  

[Nio Love]

Something else was lurking in the bushes.  

[Bilious]

Eyes narrowed, watching the rustle with intent.

A clawed hand tightened on a knife.  

[Nio Love]

One of the leaves of the bush moved, just slightly, to the right. A dark eye snuck out from the tiny space and stared up at the rustling tree.  

[Bilious]

With a shrieking cry, wings spread, leaping down on the bush with knife and talons at the ready to destroy whatever lay beyond like an attacking falcon.  

[Nio Love]

Unexpected.

The horseman rolled out of the bush like a ball when he saw her flying out of the tree, and he heard the sink of a knife into dirt an inch from his body before he got away.

"Stop stop stop that, you'll not be eating my fine carcass roasted on a pit tonight, harpie!" He shrieked, scrambling up to his knees and holding his hands out defensively.
