Game of Thrones is the first book of the Song of Ice and Fire series. It features ruling families either struggling to keep power, or those trying to obtain it. The setting is mostly medieval in nature (knights with the titles of Ser), lords, ladies, kings and queens, and even a bit of magic and mystery in areas beyond the main land of Westeros.

With this, we can either use the main families in the show, or make up our own (or both!), and either keep hold of the Iron Throne - seat of power made up of thousands of swords donated from defeated lords centuries before, or fight to claim it for yourself in any way you can...or abstain and live a life of honor.

Hellsing is centred around the Holy Order of Protestant Knights in England, originally led by Abraham Van Helsing. The mission of Hellsing is to search and destroy those that threaten the safety of the Queen and Country from the undead and other supernatural forces of evil. This organization is currently led by Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing, who inherited the leadership of Hellsing as a child after the death of her father. She is protected by Alucard, the original and most powerful vampire, who swore loyalty to the Hellsing family after being defeated by Van Helsing one hundred years before the story takes place.

I'm not too savvy on this series any more but Mortal Kombat centers around a tournament that has been going on for thousands of years to help keep the world's different "dimentions" in check and balanced. Eventually, a man, if I remember correctly, by the name of Shao Kahn goes on a mission to take over each of the dimensions. A tournement is started to decide the fate of the dimentions and the games pretty much follow different tournaments and fighters as they try to thwart Shao Kahn. (I hope this was at least some what helpful!)

Xena: Warrior Princess Is about a princess from a land unknown to the main point of the story but she is a fighter and kind of a bit dominatrix. She travels around with her friend Gabriel and other characters fighting Greek demi gods and such. There's some kind of weird dark love story involved at a point and it got kind of kinky sometimes.

It would be interesting to see if we could concoct a way to use the LoK characters in this universe. Maybe use the Vampire Clans as the 'Houses' in it.

I'm just adding ideas for some of these things as I read them.

Oh yeah! And technically the world where the series takes place is is a lot larger than just the main land of Westeros...there's the Free Cities (nine total), Slavers' Bay (three cities that pretty much thrive on slavery), the ruins of Old Valyria (former home of the Targaryen house - dragon people), and even a land so far north, there's snow and cold ALL the time. smile There's LOTS of houses, heck people can even join as guards, servants, knights, squires, minstrels, or anything you want. smile It's all open.

More than that...

Xena's a warrior princess, that's true. But she was originally a 'bad gal' before deciding to do good and make amends for her wrongdoings. She doesn't battle demi gods all the time; over the course of the series, she goes to the Orient and Rome (even hooks up with Caesar before getting crucified and becoming and angel!)

Elder Scrolls
Borrowed from Wiki

The Elder Scrolls games take place on the fantasy world of Nirn, on the continent of Tamriel, a large landmass divided into nine provinces. The exceptions are The Elder Scrolls Legends: Battlespire, and parts of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which take place between the realm of Oblivion (one of several alternate dimensions ruled by immortal god-like beings known as Daedra) and the mortal realm of Mundus.

Tamriel itself is an empire divided into nine provinces, each with its own native race. Those provinces are as follows: Cyrodiil, Morrowind, High Rock, the Summerset Isles, Hammerfell, Black Marsh, Skyrim, Valenwood, and Elsweyr. The native races of the provinces are as follows:

Imperials in Cyrodiil
Dunmer (also known as Dark Elves) in Morrowind
Bretons and Orsimer (also known as Orcs) in High Rock
Altmer (also known as High Elves) in the Summerset Isles
Redguards in Hammerfell
Argonians in Black Marsh
Nords in Skyrim
Bosmer (also known as Wood Elves) in Valenwood
Khajiit in Elsweyr.

The emperor resides in the capital province of Cyrodiil. The ruling dynasty throughout the Third Era consisted entirely of the descendants of Tiber Septim. His line, frequently called the Septim Bloodline, ended at the conclusion of the Third Era, with the death of Martin Septim, the last living heir of Uriel Septim VII, during a failed invasion of Cyrodill by the forces of Oblivion.

Several years after the Oblivion Crisis, a Colovian warlord named Titus Mede assumed the throne of the Empire, reigning through at least the first forty years of the Fourth Era. During the Fourth Era, the Empire declines in power, leading to the secession of the provinces of Elsweyr, Black Marsh, Valenwood, and the Summerset Isles. The provinces of the Summerset Isles and Valenwood, home to the Altmer and Bosmer, respectively, create the Aldmeri Dominion, an Elven empire whose influence quickly eclipses the Old Empire, who faces another separatist movement in the province of Skyrim.
