Anyone else having this problem?

I unfortunately haven't written anything significant since I left high school for the Navy 4 years ago. I still have ideas for stories buzzing around my head like mad, but whenever I sit down to actually put pen(cil) to paper, I sit there for HOURS staring at a blank page, unable to write anything. HELP!

Happens to me all the time. I have any number of half written plots and pieces of novels floating around. I'm usually really good at coming up with basic ideas, but when it comes to actually details I tend to fail.

I see what you mean, though details aren't a problem for me, I can add those in after the basic framework of the story is in place. I can't even seem to get one STARTED lately. I've always had an issue coming up with the opening scene in my stories, but this is ridiculous...
