OOC [ Task of Famine: ] The BlightThis task requires a group of AT LEAST three initiated members (students or Horsemen), to a max of five members. They may go anywhere in the Human World using the portal catacombs in the Lair. These catacombs lead to small human world towns only. All players must follow these steps to successfully create a blight and then harvest the Fear from the starvation, death and paranoia that results in it.
gaia_crown [ Step 1: ]
- You must first create a parasite, something from the Human world that you will infect with Fear so that it mutates to do as intended: destroying crops. Make sure your parasite is not too powerful: some clan members fail entirely at this stage because they lack subtlety. It is not about instantly destroying a victim but gathering as much Fear from them before they die. Setting is key. - Have one team member/ the leading member/ first person who posts, choose a parasite for your team (ie: rats, crows, locusts are fairly common, or you can try some more exotic options like crocodiles, etc etc, but also remember HUMAN WORLD LOCATION is key for what kinds of parasites). Now all team members will roll ONCE as directed below, imbuing the creature with a little bit of their Fear/ redirecting their Fear to the creature - Rp out all results as usual
Roll a 6-sided dice: Famine members can roll 1d4 (4-sided dice) instead. This determines your Fear imbued amount that you give to the chosen parasite. After ALL team members have rolled, add up all the dice roll amounts, add the modifiers below, and THEN match to results: - If you have 3 members you have a +6 modifier - If you have 4 members you have a +3 modifier - If you have 5 members you have a +0 modifier
Results (after adding EVERYONE's dice rolls and adding the modifier):
0 - 5: You have a LEVEL 4 creature. It practically wipes the board 6 - 10: You have a LEVEL 3 creature. It is rather powerful, and destroys crops rather easily 11 - 15: You have a LEVEL 2 creature. It is decent, and will do its job, with a moderate amount of Fear concentration. 16+: Your creature has EXPLODED FROM TOO MUCH FEAR. :T You end up with a backup Famine locust that the clan has given you for emergency use in case you fail. It kind of sucks and you feel miserable and sad and disappoint.
gaia_crown [ Step 2: ]
Now it is time to release your creature out into the crops! It is working! The crops are turning a sickly, mottled colour. However, the humans are freaking out and trying to destroy your creature! This is where you must intervene.
Roll 2d6-sided dice: Famine clan members can get a natural +2 attack modifier to their creature/parasite. You need to roll three times. - The FIRST dice roll determines the attack of your creature, the SECOND 2d6 the attack of the human. You need to help by making your creature strong too! - If your creature is level one, you get no attack modifier - If your creature is level two, you get a +1 attack modifier - If your creature is level three, you get a +2 attack modifier - If your creature is level four, you get a +3 attack modifier - IF your creature's final attack including modifier is WEAKER than the human's rolled attack power, your PARASITE/creature DIES. - Label at the bottom of your post in OOC quotes SUCCESS if your creature defeated the human or FAILURE if they were killed instead. Now it is time to tally results for the ENTIRE TEAM. - Add a + 2 modifier for each team member on your team (so instead of 0-3, it would be 2- 5)
LESS THAN 2 creature deaths: It's okay you're doing fine! You manage to gain +3 Fear Points for EVERYBODY on your team! 3- 5 creature deaths: Well, you've seen better, your blight will continue to grow thankfully. You manage to gain +2 Fear points for everybody on your team! 6- 8 creature deaths: You've seen better days but it could be worse. You might spread a tiny amount of Fear. +1 Fear points 9+ creature deaths: All your creatures die, or are soon finished off. Weak. You get no Fear points :T
Soren waited in the catacombs for the group to finish forming. Today was unusual. Another task to collect Fear for the Lair, which in itself was not all that strange, but this group was going to have representatives from all four of the clans. A couple of them he knew, at he recognized them when they arrived. The tall Conquest clansmen that he saw around Lifen...Mengyao or something like that. His eyes glanced over his golden eye, knowing what it probably meant, not entirely sure because the stallion could have had dual-colored eyes at birth. And Mmur, the Famine clansmen that he had met in the forest. He was still not entirely sure what to think about him. The other names he had been told meant nothing. Zhiqiang, one of those bizarre Conquest names it sounded like. And Jaida, was more than likely from War as the other clans had already made their appearance.
He stood waiting, arms crossed loosely, ready to go whenever the others were. He had no intention of leading the way, they were doing something that was not in his area of expertise. Creating a blight. It seemed more like it belonged to Famine, so he looked toward Mmur before addressing the group with his low, rumbling voice. "Who's in charge?" It would be better to establish this now before they all got out in the field and someone started squabbling because they refused to obey orders from someone else.
For Everyone I guess like an orp? Side convos/posting order not so crucial and we'll move on when everyone has done everything? /shrugbird Disclaimer: No student sex D:<
Smerdle As per this post I think Mmur should choose the blight!

The Famine soldier advanced through the catacombs quite slowly, despite his excitement over the prospect of this outing. A Blight! He hadn't participated in one of these since before the whole hunter genocide thing. Mmur was looking forward to this, but, understandably, he was also a bit worried. From what he had heard, he was the only horseman of Famine going on this little day trip of terror, and seeing as how Blights were kind of Faminey, Mmur knew he was going to be doing some heavy lifting. Figuratively. He didn't make a very good leader on his best days, but he was determined not to let anyone down.
Mmur approached the gathering horsemen, waiting until they had all arrived before giving them a once over. Soren was the only one he knew, and even then, he didn't know him very well. To be fair though, the soldier didn't know anyone well, not anymore. Perhaps this trip would change that. He nodded as the War horsewoman addressed him, a happy grin spreading across his face as she greeted someone she knew—ZhiZhi... he'd have to remember that. Mmur rushed off down the tunnel for a moment, squinting through the wavering portal into the human world. This particular location looked kind of swampy, although he could definitely make out a drier settlement a short distance away. He was best at sandy and sunny, but he was confident he could do a bog.
The horseman knuckled at the corners of his glowing eyes. Boggy, boggy, boggy. Squid? No, from what he could recall, there were no squids in swamps. Mountain lions were probably out simply for being too big. Elephants too. Finally, Mmur settled on something. He gathered and separated a small amount of fear into four clusters, then sent the wisps of bright blue light hopping their way back to the group. A greater amount of fear went into a fifth, which eventually coalesced into a more solid, if incredibly derpy, frog. He scooped it up, cradling it like a small, slimy baby as he rejoined his kin.
"Frogs," he said matter-of-factly. "It looks like frog territory."
(( Imbue away, doods! No whammies explosions! ))

With the exception of Jay, Zhiqiang honestly had no idea who any of these people were. Well, Mengyao might have been vaguely familiar, seeing as they were both conquest horsemen, but Zhi was drawing a blank with everyone else.
...Not that he had a very good memory in the first place.
"JAYJAY!" The horseman greeted Jay in kind, his arms already spread out and ready for when she jumped at him. He gave her what was probably an overly tight hug, grinning at the kiss. "I missed you too! And--hey, do you think anyone else here likes kisses as a greeting?" He proceeded to look between all the other (male) horsemen present before turning his attention to look at Mmur.
"Oh ho, frogs, huh? Okay! Let me just..." Reaching out to let one of the balls of light settle in his hands, he focused on imbuing it with just a bit of his fear. Not too much, but just enough to...
"BAHAHA LOOK AT MY FROG he is awesome!" Zhi held up his hands proudly to show off the frog that sat in his palms...a frog that looked quite a bit like him, even down to the expression. (ʘ‿ʘ)

He knew no one here other than the tall one who was very nearly his height that was called Soren, and even then the only thing Mengyao knew of him was that he was a friend of Lifen and Lan's. He vaguely recognized the one being called "Zhizhi," seeing as how he was from the clan of Conquest as well - but other than that, the rest were unfamiliar.
Mengyao did not wish to dwell on it too much. Nor did he have any particular desire to hold the small, slimy creature that had been created by the one named "Mmur."
"No," said Mengyao, giving the creature a look of utmost disgust, but he adopted a serenely sweet smile and added, "Thank you."
Then he let the frog sit on the ground while he merely touched one finger to it, imbibing it with a bit of his FEAR. He quickly drew away after a few seconds with a strong desire to wash his hands.
"Are we quite finished with this particular aspect of our mission?" he asked, in a tone of voice that clearly indicated he was quite ready to move on.

Kisses? As greetings? Well, Mmur wouldn't be opposed to such a thing, but since no one else seemed ready to take the Conquest horseman—Zhizhi?—up on his offer, Mmur just stayed where he was, gently placing his frog back on the ground and prodding it forward with a touch of FEAR.
"They'll do just as well as anything larger, I think," he told Soren. If this portal had led them to the desert, bugs would have sufficed, but the only bugs he could see working here were mosquitoes. He decided a mosquito that resembled him wouldn't be nearly as fearsome. "And they should be inconspicuous enough."
Mmurfrog proved its worth by hopping toward a far-off man in a hammock, turning the bright green grass splotchy brown in its wake. The man didn't notice the potential chaos as he slapped his newspaper at the shape moving through his peripheral vision.
"Durned varmints," the human muttered.
The frog took quite a beating, but with a little more FEAR encouragement it continued on, infecting a native frog with its Faminey coloring.

“Hmmmmm. Good question.” Jay stroked her chin upon hearing Zhi’s question. Eyes slightly narrowed and lips pulled into a thoughtful frown, she eyed the rest of the group before answering with a flat, “Nope, nope, and uh—nope!” Looking a bit disappointed, she chose to busy herself with the bluejay-colored frog in her hands. “So we just set them down?” She curiously looked over at the Famine horseman, her green eyes watching his actions. Eventually, she too knelt down and let the frog slide out of her hands before she poked it. “Go on!”
She stayed on her knees—spread herself out on the dirt even—as she keenly watched the bright blue frog hop away. It did not however, have a very good beginning. As it began to cross a road, it stopped suddenly when a light was cast upon it. The frog turned and was run over by a car. At least it was still twitching, which meant it was alive still.
Open-mouthed, Jay slowly turned toward the others. “Guys. I think I just got squashed….Q~Q”

The conquest horseman stood there, mouth agape as he watched the truck run right over Jay's little frog. After a moment of stunned silence, he slowly turned and shook his fist in the direction of the quickly disappeared truck. He then turned his attention back to the squashed--but still twitching--frog.
"Nooo, don't worry, Jay-frog! Zhi-frog will avenge you!"
Stooping down, he tossed Zhi!frog forward, staring at it expectantly.
(ʘ‿ʘ)
It stared back with the same expression.
...
(ʘnʘ)
"Go." At the order, the frog let out a ribbit, and then proceeded to bounce towards the largest patches of grass that it could find, rolling itself around until the bright green blades faded and wilted. Unfortunately, apparently it picked a spot where a pair of children were playing--the moment they spotted him, they suddenly let out squeals of delight and went after him.
Somehow, he narrowly missed getting squashing beneath their shoes and darted to safety.
Frog: 5 + 1 = 6 Human: 6
...Success? (of course you had to do this to me, Zhi)
