Mawi Mai had been doing all kinds of settling lately. She was getting settled into her new ranking, it was an odd one that wasn't really given to her, the original leader had gone missing and now she had extra tasks on her shoulders, she took the rank gracefully, made some adjustments and then lead the groups into rebuilding the pride down to helping those rebuild their drums. It was still really interesting, it was stressful and very much worth every second of it. She was now starting to get back to her normal ever day duties, which now included doing various pride running things, but she would also get back to doing her favorite of teaching the Juvenile lions in the pride how to make their drums right before thy were to go on their pride quests.

Mawi Mai had been in a pretty good mood today, finishing some the duties that she had to do for the day. And now was free to do whatever she wanted for the day which included wandering around the borders of the pride. Her shakers rattled noisily and she also listened to the drumming that was happening in various spots of the pride. It was always interesting wandering around the ends and knowing that there were various lions just doing what held the pride together and what brought everyone together. She would have been in the circle and around the pride with everyone else however right now there was something in her gut that was odd, she felt like there was something in the pride that needed her attention. That feeling brought her to the edge of the pride, wandering she was trying to figure out what she was going to do next wondering what was going to come around.

Jamiri'da had kept mostly to himself on this long trip. It wasn't that he regretted coming, oh no, not at all. It was infinitely interesting to see the land change and encounter strangers along the way. He just wasn't the sociable sort. He'd gotten along well with the two leaders, and enjoyed talking quietly with the instrument maker who had accompanied them, but these conversations were few and far between.

He had of course taken his turn at performing during the journey. Song and dance kept them cheerful and encouraged, lifted their spirits during the long nights spent outside beneath the stars. He wouldn't admit it to anyone, but Jamiri had missed his safe, warm den. He was very much looking forward to finding this pride they sought. If all went well, he'd have a new den all his own again, and life could continue.

Today he was once more on the outskirts of the traveling group. They chattered and talked and hummed and sang, but he paced quietly, eyes wide and soaking in all that was around them. He sometimes allowed himself to speculate... would they have many cubs? Would he be allowed to teach them the songs he brought within his heart and memory? But all this was blown out of his thoughts when he spotted that they were approaching someone. He sidled up to the nearest person and muttered, "Look." It wasn't much of an alert, but it was the best he could do, unless he managed to come up with a song to alert others of an approaching stranger. Perhaps he should have done that on the way here. Too late now.

Ngoma was cheerful the entire trip. No matter how hot, cold or stormy the weather may have been at any time, her cheerful, yet a bit quiet, demeanor had remained intact. Polite conversation had been had, and she had done her best to interact with the others as much as possible, but there were some she knew liked to keep mostly to themselves. While Ngoma was not an introverted person, she still was not the most talkative lioness in the group. She enjoyed polite conversation and silly bantering with a few of those she considered friends, but she was not overly friendly and outgoing.

As the group continued to trek on, Ngoma began catching wiffs of other lions and creatures alike. Her mood picked up even more as she realized they must be getting close to the Pride they were searching for. She kept her eyes trained up on the two brothers who lead them, following behind them with a few of the others, standing relatively close to Jamiri. Her eyes moved to his form as she heard him mention that there was someone up ahead and she moved around the outside of the group to peer up ahead, indeed spotting some lion with what appeared to be a drum around her neck. "This must be it then." She said in a soft and cheerful voice.

Ndoto trotted ahead of the group with his brother just a few paces behind, a happy grin on his face as usual as he peered at the horizon. Surely they were close...the last lion they had asked directions from had told them they were on the right path. She had certainly seemed nice enough to be telling the truth, so the creamy lion was very excited to see if she was right. They had been walking for what seemed like eons, gathering lonely lions along the way. Now they had a mini pride of their own! It was great, really, traveling with all these friendly companions.

His ears flicked forward as he spotted movement just around the same time Jamiri'da spoke, his voice low and quiet as usual. Ngoma confirmed what he was thinking and he let out a joyful laugh, jumping slightly as he turned to look at his 'followers'. He and his brother had become the unspoken leaders of the group, as they had been the original ones off in search of the pride. He didn't mind the responsibility at all.

"Look," he said, alerting the other lions to the fact that there were drums on the air and a lioness not too far off. "Look! Do you see? We've arrived! Finally! Oh, the walking is over and you can all rest. Ah, what a glorious day!" He did a victory lap around the group, laughing the whole time. After reaching the front, he shook himself before continuing the trot forward.

"Hello!" he called out to the lioness, a relieved look on his face.

"Ndoto, approach cautiously. We don't know how welcoming they are strangers. They might not even want us here," Tahani, the mother hen of the group, scolded.

That had been a concern Tahani had the entire trip. What if they came all this way only to be turned down? Denied entry... What would they do then? Then again, Tahani tried to always be aware of the worst case scenario, but she dare not utter it until now. It had been best not to let the others worry about that. She could deal with it but the others? Well, some probably relied on their hope, and she hadn't wanted to crush it until they were there.

And now they were there. And she had planted the seed of worry that she had been cultivating.

Tahani approached at a respectable pace, head held high.

Enyeto bobbed his head while his heavy paws laid down a beat. The journey to the new pride seemed to stretch on far too long, but getting into the groove of things certainly helped pass the time. Just his walking paws presented a steady rhythm he could get behind. It made the walking less strenuous and some times, rather enjoyable. His tail joined his head, swaying back and forth. Soft 'ohs' and 'ahs' escaped his lips as he slowly started to slip into his own world. It wasn't until his brother, definitely the more energetic one, let out a laugh did Enyeto realize something was going on. He picked up his head and scanned the area in front of the group. A smile spread across his face once he spotted the lioness from the pride. "Well, alright." He looked back to figure out where Ndoto went, which was running around the group.

Enyeto could get behind Tahani's words of caution, though he doubted they had anything to worry about. Just to be on the safe side, he'll wait for Ndoto to make it back to him before he approached the lioness. As Ndoto continued to dash forward, Enyeto followed a step behind. If something were to happen, Ndoto would get it first and Enyeto would have front row seats. Oh, how funny it would be if the lioness freaked out and slashed at Ndoto. He kept that thought to himself though~ wouldn't want to spoil the moment.

Mawi Mai turned her head, her ear's flicked in the direction of the sounds that she was hearing. It was a sound that she had heard before. There was the heavy sound of feet against the ground. Not just the rhythm of one or two sets of paws but there were many. Many paws hitting the ground. Her attention turned as she waited to see what was coming her way. She could smell others too this was indeed odd. They were smells of the pride. She spotted the group, she didn't know any of them however they didn't seem that threatening. She wasn't sure what it was about them but they almost seemed as if they could fit into the pride. An interesting group. Then again Mawi was pretty welcoming of strangers like the other leaders before her. she knew she should be open minded no matter what was happening.

She flicked her tail around behind her causing a small rattle and she smiled at the others as they wandered up to them. She was very interested in them. She was wondering what they were doing here. Very curious of what brought them to her borders. "Hello strangers!" She greeted back with a largesmile on her face.

Ndoto glanced over his shoulder at the warning from Tahani, laughing softly as he did so. Couldn't she see? Couldn't she hear? This place was the one they had been searching for for so long! The drum around the lioness' neck was as dead a giveaway as anything. He turned forward once more and slowed his run to a light jog, stopping a few paces away from the tan lioness.

"Hello," he said again, the happiness and relief clear in his voice. They had made it! He was glad he had let Enyeto lead for a while the previous day, since he had been sure the pride had been in the other direction. This was it though, if the light drumming in the distance was anything to go by. He had to keep his voice to himself for the time being and bobbed his head in a low bow.

"My name is Ndoto. My friends, brother, and I have been searching for this place for weeks." He tried to keep his voice somewhat under control, but it was obvious how excited he was. He lifted his head, a broad smile still on his face. He had no idea what the initiation rites were - if there were any - but he prayed to the gods that this lioness would let them in. "We're all very interested in becoming a part of this pride. Is this feasible?"

Usually prides were always looking for new members, but there were the odd ones here and there that refused new recruits. He doubted this place would be one of them, but it was always polite to ask.

Jamiri gladly let the others do the talking. He didn't always tend to agree with Tahani's pessimistic views on life, but he tended to act like he did this time. He avoided eye contact, and dropped back to the back of the group. In fact, he practically hid behind the others. Bad enough that they had to speak to strangers, but a female to boot! And yet... and yet this was the place he'd dreamed of coming to. A quiet pride, by all accounts, where he could focus on his songs, and on teaching. He gulped convulsively as he realized he'd been left behind with the females of their own little group, while the males had gone on ahead. Oh dear! What to do?

His heart pounded crazily as he considered his choices. He finally went around the group and padded towards the two leader males, though his course was circumspect, rather than a direct line. It gave him a bit to eye the stranger and wonder how things worked here. Maybe... maybe the females wouldn't be so chattery and cheerful and bouncy here? He supposed that was too much to hope, as this one seemed at least cheerful and near to energetic. He eased in closer to Ndoto and Enyeto as the greetings commenced.

Tahani sighed inwardly in releif that the lioness was welcoming. Drums of fun and folly could quickly turn to drums of war, though, so she didn't let down her guard too much. Not that she ever did. Pessimistic, cautious...yes, Tahani could be called either of those things. All the same though, she tepped forwards, a proud female in her own right.

"I am Tahani, and what Ndoto says is true. We'd heard your pride is quite like our own was."

She let the brothers approach the lioness first, then after a moment she too made her way over, standing a bit behind the three as they spoke. She remained quiet for the moment until after Tahani spoke, then found it time to introduce herself. "And I'm Ngoma. We're so excited to finally find your pride."

Ngoma held onto her optimism, hoping this pride would welcome them and let them become members, sharing their musical and dancing skills with the pride. All Ngoma wanted was a place to dance again, and somewhere to teach her dances as well.

(Was waiting for a reply but I want to keep the RP moving)
Mawi Mai was pretty excited to see the lions coming her way, as she did though a small thought crossed her mind, she was hoping these guys were friendly. That was all she needed on top of everything else. A flood then a series of intruders, that sounded like a great time. And as these thoughts swirled through her head she heard the sound of a voice, it was coming from one of the males, she looked up and out of habit a grin grew large across her face. These guys did seem pretty friendly so far. She shrugged the paranoia off of her shoulders she didn't need that. Not right now anyway. She was about to offer another greeting to the strangers but she felt as if they all spoke at the same time and she couldn't help but to smile even bigger as she began to realize they really didn't seem like they came to cause harm to her pride.

Mawi's eared perked forward as she listened to what they all had to say before speaking back. "Welcome!" She started off, her voice light and cheery, she took a moment before speaking again. "You have heard of our pride?" She asked curiously, but as she thought about it she wasn't even sure if the strangers knew where they were, she hadn't seen any member wanting to join for a while. Life was still thriving but strangers didn't come that often. "Well, do you guys know if you got the right pride?" She asked curiously before deciding to explain. "We are the Nchi'mahadhi pride, we believe that everything around us has a rhythm," her grin grew even better as she spoke of the pride, other than her children or her mate her favorite thing to talk about was the pride. She loved the Nchi, it was her home and her entire life. "We connect with this rhythm with chant, dance and song, and of course the drums." She was hoping that this group had the right pride, new members sounded extremely exciting to her.

Ndoto nearly cried with relief. It was the right pride! He nodded his head as the lioness described what the pride was all about, his smile growing wider and wider until he laughed, unable to help himself. After weeks of searching they had finally reached their goal.

"Yes! Yes, this is exactly the place we've been looking for," he said, bobbing his head out of respect. Enyeto told him countless times how his rather excitable personality might come off as childish and immature to new lions, so he always went out of his way to show respect whenever he could. As long as the lion he was speaking to needed that respect, of course. This new lioness deserved all the respect he could give at the moment. He wanted to make a good first impression.

"We're all singers or drummers or dancers, makers of instruments, you name it, we've got it here," he said as he lifted his head, eyes sparkling with excitement. "We've been searching for such a long time and we've made it...praise the gods."

Ndoto's emotion was infectious and sent a slow, relaxing smile on Enyeto's face. He wasn't much for jumping around and expending so much energy, but Ndoto's physical presence was enough for him. It'll be great to stop walking and settle down in the shade of a tree. Enyeto didn't really enjoy traveling under the hot sun. His pelt kept the heat in, which never contributed to a good time, that is, unless it was cold out. Unfortunately, the days were still heat stroke worthy.

A deep and smooth, "Alriiiiight~" escaped his lips. This pride is exactly what they were looking for. He could get behind this. He let his brother do the talking since he was doing such a good job of it. All Enyeto had to do was sit back and nod. Hopefully, they can wrap things up and Mawi Mai could lead them to the pride. He'd like the opportunity to pick his 'chill' spot.

Mawi Mai looked at the lions and flashed them a grin. She actually loved to see the excitable lions. She knew a good amount of the other lions were excitable, not all of them were but there was a good amount. Mawi was glad that there were still other lions looking to call her home their own home. She felt all kinds of happy and she just wanted to tell everyone.

She turned her attention toward the other lions and then smiled. "Well, welcome home!" She said giggling, she turned her attention toward the pride before back at the new lions. "You guys don't have to do all of the official joining stuff later, but for now you guys should settle in and get comfortable. How long have you guys been traveling? She asked curiously, she was really wondering where the lions had come from.
