Hello everyone!
The Bahari'mtoto and Kizingo'zaa Meta is now under way and we're nearing the end of our cub contests! This week we'll be giving away two sisters from Afina and Xenon's Litter - one who happens to be the image of her mother and the other who takes after her father and has odd little hints of her descendants.
As with all the other cubs, these cubs will be expected to stay with the Bahari'mtoto until adolescence and then, if they wish to move prides, they can only go to the Kizingo'zaa. That's right, you may only have the option of either of these two prides so if you don't like this, then please don't enter!
So without further ado, here are the lovely lil kiddies you'll be entering for!
Cute, no?
To enter, we'll be doing personality contests for both with a little scenario question (that does not need to be RPed), thrown into the mix. If you're still with me, see below for details.
Start Date: Now! End Date: Wed 29th August 12.30pm GMT (5 Days)

Note: I can and will throw in curve balls in the scenarios for these cubs. It's up to you to find out what the correct responses should be, and if yours are different, why you would react in such a way during these scenarios!
Rules: 1. You must roleplay this cub in the meta when you win it. 2. This cub must stay with the Bahari'mtoto, if the cub is to leave at any point it will be restricted to the Kizingo'zaa (and this must be discussed with Syr and I first). 3. Be nice, this is supposed to be fun. 4. You can only enter this competition if you have not yet won a Meta Cub (this includes Chessa's litter)!

Hard as a Rock! Username: L1m3_gr33n_sh4rp13 Cub Name: Miamba-kumbatia Personality: Miamba is a strong willed cub with a soft spot for her family. She can be very emotional, but does a good job keeping it all bottled up. Solace in silence is what she craves, but she is always surrounded by others; other cubs, other adults, the pride. She can't escape to a quiet place to think, so she has to make due in the loudness of all this company. Though she keeps her emotions bottled up, she is a sweet cub, and does love to be around others sometimes. She craves social acceptance and love, but feels, sometimes, as if the only ones who do or will ever love her are her family members. The rest of the prides words about how unusual she is next to all the blues in the pride hurts her deeply. Because of this she is very insecure about her coat and wonders if there will ever be a way for her to really fit in. If there is anything she can do to be accepted, or to change the colors of her fur. Scenario: "You grew up hearing that you weren't like the rest of your family, which isn't strictly true. Your family is large and diverse, but there are those who can only see the 'blue' coated beings in your family. Your father has told you that as 'slate' you are just like the cliffs that the ocean embraces, therefore you are just as important as the 'blue'. Do you believe him? Or are you inclined to believe that 'blue' is the only true colour that can be connected to the oceans?"
Not like the rest of the family? That wasn't true, she had brothers and sisters who weren't exactly blue, and her father had barely any blue on him. She knew this. Her father minded her of it and even told her that her color was a slate, just like the cliffs. Cliffs were important too, right? It was where the ocean met the earth. It was her name sake.
The more other lions looked at her funny and told her she wasn't like the rest of the family though, the more it made her want to escape and go off on her own, not to leave the pride mind, she lived her family too much, but itmade her wish to go find a quiet spot to sit alone and watch the sea wash up on shore over and over again. Its mindless chore that was both soothing and important. But she could never find a moment of silence. The cubs were all watched like hawks and so she had to keep her thoughts bottled up and her mind constantly reeling. It was enough to drive a cub mad and stir crazy. All she wanted was a moment to peer into the sea.
The Tsunami and the current events made it so she would never get that chance, not now anyways. She had to keep strong though, had to continue looking like none of what they said affected her; but all the words and looks did. They made her feel out of place and insignificant. Why couldn't the others see her the way her father did? As a little cliff colored lioness who was just as pretty as the blue coated lions that roamed the pridal beaches.
All she wanted was acceptance and not to be judged so thinly.
Easy, Breezy, Blue! Username: L1m3_gr33n_sh4rp13 Cub Name: Luludja Personality: Lulu is an upbeat and chipper little cub. Always happy to pipe in and give her two cents, she tries to act much more grown up than she is. Due to her being a cub and not knowing everything, sometimes she makes up very embellished stories to make her seem more intelligent than she is and to get a bit of attention. Being form such a large family she craves to be noticed and praised almost as much as she loves learning things. Scenario: "You have met a number of traditionalists in the pride who have very tough and judgemental views on what your father regards as 'adolescent mistakes'. As a cub, you were raised with a much more accepting mindset. How would you go about handling these traditionalists, or would you completely ignore them?"
Being a cub who craves attention, even if she didn't know exactly what everyone was talking about with these 'adolescent mistakes', whatever -that- was, she would gladly talk to them and just jabber away, telling people things that were totally unrelated and just seem to be glad to have someone to listen to her. She wouldn't be exactly happy about how they judged 'daddy', but she wasn't the kind to start fights. Though, maybe some of the nonsense she jabbers can be misconstrued and taken as something it's not.
Never the less, she enjoys having all the attention, even if it's sort of negative, so she would likely confront them head on to listen to them and then jabber back at them until they found a way to escape the never ending stream of words and stories that would pour from the cubs maw.

Hard as a Rock! Username: SilverLutz Cub Name: Kicheko Personality: Kicheko is a fun-loving cub that rarely gets down. She is confident and proud of herself, sometimes overly so. She is quick to speak her mind, even if the moment is not right. Thankfully she's still a cub, so any accidental insults are laughed off. She loves her family dearly - especially her father - and wants go grow up big and strong so she can protect them. Her confidence will help her grow into a powerful lioness, ready to succeed at whatever path she chooses.
Kicheko wasn't one to let others words get to her. She was a confident little cub and was proud of her colors. She shared some of the same colors as her father, after all! And he was the biggest, strongest, most awesome lion ever, so of course she'd be proud to look like him. The various lions that had joked about her being the 'black sheep' made her laugh. She wasn't a sheep! She was a lion, just like her brothers and sisters.
But hearing it so many times, from so many people...it started to make her wonder if she was different. Different wasn't bad, of course. Different was good! If everyone were the same, it would be really, really boring. But still, it was always good to check with her parents. Her father had reassured her that she wasn't anything too different, and that she was just as connected to the ocean as any pure blue lion. She was the color of the cliffs at sunset, bringing the earth and the water together. That was pretty important! Without cliffs and rocks no one would be able to get to the water at all. Sand was just a bunch of tiny pebbles, after all.
Reassured that she was perfectly fine the way she was, Kicheko strutted away to go play with her siblings. There were better ways than to judge someone than their color. Red and grey were just as good as black and blue. She gave a little laugh before taking off, running to tell her siblings the awesome news: she was a mighty cliff! Nothing could stop her now.
Easy, Breezy, Blue! Username: SilverLutz Cub Name: Kioo Personality: Quiet and reserved, Kioo is the essence of poise and grace. She is something of a princess and doesn't like getting her paws dirty, but she won't make a fuss if she has to. She prefers to play quietly with little bugs and animals rather than roughhousing with other cubs. She sticks close to her mother whenever she can, trying to imitate her walk, the way she laughs, anything to emulate her parent. She enjoys being alone, but not lonely, and will seek out the company of her parents or siblings after a while of playing on her own. Scenario: "You have met a number of traditionalists in the pride who have very tough and judgemental views on what your father regards as 'adolescent mistakes'. As a cub, you were raised with a much more accepting mindset. How would you go about handling these traditionalists, or would you completely ignore them?"
Traditionalists. Kioo's father spoke of them to her mother sometimes, and she wondered what the big word meant. Traditional was one she knew so...maybe something to do with traditions. She liked traditions, but the lions that adhered do them like their life depended on it were kind of funny.
...oh! They were the traditionalists! Feeling a bit smart, she padded off to think about what her father had said. She had seen a few lions that would whisper about the soul of the pride slowly slipping away...but new things were good. Sometimes they were a bit scary, but they usually turned out to be good. Swimming, for instance, had been really terrifying at first, but once she got the hang of it she enjoyed it. Traditions were nice, as she had though earlier. It was fun to pretend to be living like the old ways and pay homage to the times that had passed, but...honestly, acting like that all the time was a bit boring. Even though she was calm and collected, she enjoyed exploring and learning new things.
The traditional lions were everywhere, of course. She didn't mind them as lions, but perhaps she'd keep an eye out for them and avoid them if they started talking a little crazy. Otherwise she'd go about her business as usual. She was just a cub, after all. She should keep to herself so she didn't bother the older pride members.

Easy, Breezy, Blue! Username: Izzy Makani Cub Name: Upepo Juu Maji (Wind on the water) Personality: Maji, as she prefers to be called, is a very generous lioness always willing to help another and give anything she can to do so. She is very friendly and tries to be nice to everyone. She likes to break the ice between her and a new stranger by cracking a few jokes and being silly. Overall she is very loud and no matter what she's doing her presence is always known. Being loud her hunting attempts are almost never successful. In stressful times she usually has a calm demeanor and is able to 'step out' of the situation and take a third person view on it to make an informed decision on the situation. She's a lover not a fighter and as conversation goes she will keep one going all on her own if her conversation partner is not particularly a talker. She see's beauty in everyone and everything and loves land, water and sky equally. Her view is without one the rest would fall. She is very family oriented and loves cubs. Someday she hopes to have her paws full with many many cubs of her own. Until her dreams of having cubs herself come true she intends to help any mother with cubs that will let her help. Scenario: "You have met a number of traditionalists in the pride who have very tough and judgemental views on what your father regards as 'adolescent mistakes'. As a cub, you were raised with a much more accepting mindset. How would you go about handling these traditionalists, or would you completely ignore them?"
I think the way I would handle the traditionalists is by giving them their time to voice how they feel. I can't say their words may not hurt but it is how they feel and they deserve to be heard even if they want me to be the one to hear it. After they were finished I would tell them that their views are acceptable and they have a right to feel that way but that I don't completely agree with all the views they have given.
I would do my best to keep the tension down while still explaining my reasons to why I don't agree. I would also be pleasant with them and most certainly respectful of them. Getting upset and arguing with them would certainly not get anyone anywhere and might possibly turn them against me. I don't think I could handle them being mad at me because I was disrespectful to them. If they are still mad because I don't agree there isn't much I can do but I will be sad that they let their judgements and anger blind them to who I really am and not just that my views are different. I can only hope that someday in the future they would let that anger go and possibly we could all become friends then. Until that day though if they were angry with my views I would stay away from them because pushing myself on them and angrying them more would only make the situation worse.

Easy, Breezy, Blue! Username: Tilly_Milly_wolf Cub Name: acque dolci Personality: Likje her name, she is like the gentle waters seen at sunset. She is never rough or hardheaded but kind, gentle, and sweet. She is always letting others speak their mind and will always listen but time and time again, she would wait till they are finished so she can speak. She is a type of girl that others would have to accept for she never likes they hard ways. That is what makes Dolci, Dolci. Scenario: "You have met a number of traditionalists in the pride who have very tough and judgemental views on what your father regards as 'adolescent mistakes'. As a cub, you were raised with a much more accepting mindset. How would you go about handling these traditionalists, or would you completely ignore them?"
'Adolescent mistakes'? What is that? Dolci has never heard of such words before until just now. Looking at the adults talk, she decides to listen but feels the words is something her parents will dislike. She waited to finally get to talk to the traditionalists but there was one problem; she would have to wait.
After hours, and hours, and hours, she could finally speak but stopped to see they continued to talked. Heading to bed, she slept but this talk went on for weeks, visits coming from the traditionalists, but at night when they were leaving, she walked out of the den and confronted them. "I am sorry if these 'adolescent mistakes' are offensive to our glorious gods and to you but i have to! In life, us Pomboos must make mistakes in order to learn from them in order to gain more knowledge about the life we live in and about us. I, for one, has learned from my mistakes and so should the rest. I hope that rests the case." She said but these words weren't regular, they were from her heart. Bowing to them, she headed back in to rest in peace as the visits stopped.
Hard as a Rock! Username: Tilly_Milly_wolf Cub Name: czerwone klify Personality: Klify is a rough at tough girl, able to withstand even the sassiest of insults while keeping her temper on a down low. She is always a fluffy ball of joy but does not like to be handled sense she shows her temper wildly when grabbed.
Listening to the adults just chatting their heads off about her, Klify just quietly snickered sense she just got a few words out of it. She knew father was right about her colors were as good as the colors blue. She just snickered at the ones saying it wasn't. Today was good sense she wasn't handled until she tripped and growled and started a bit of wrestling but wasn't serious. As the winner, she laughed as she walked off for her regular daily meal.

Easy, Breezy, Blue! Username: Master Wild Mage Cub Name: Nakala Personality: Nakala is very confident and sure of herself. At times she can come off as snotty but really she just thinks she's unstoppable and can't be beaten. Really she's a boisterous lioness that loves to explore and meet new people. Scenario: "You have met a number of traditionalists in the pride who have very tough and judgemental views on what your father regards as 'adolescent mistakes'. As a cub, you were raised with a much more accepting mindset. How would you go about handling these traditionalists, or would you completely ignore them?"
Nakala would mostly ignore the barbs against those that haven't stuck to the rules and followed them to the letter. She would simply respond with a lecture (that would sound a lot like a rant probably) about how no one is perfect by far. You shouldn't necessarily look down on those that have made mistakes in their past and instead look at what they've learned from their experiences and how they dealt with the consequences after the outcome. Her basic argument would be that as long as you don't hurt anyone, learn from the mistake, and take responsibilities for the consequences, it's not all that bad in the long run.

And without further ado the winners are...!Congratulations you guys, you hit the nail on the head in relation to how these cubs will be raised. The cubs are equal parts blue, grey and have a smattering of other colours in their blood line, plus, the Bahari'mtoto have nothing against particular coat colours. *Winks*
Not only that but you've conveyed that they'll both have a positive outlook on life and while having a little bit of a feisty/boisterous nature, they'll also know when to be polite too!
You're now free to play these cubs in the meta - also, be sure to ping either Syrius Lionwing or I your future ranks for these cubs!
