Nyota-Wasomaji Puppies
Ends: September 10th, 10 pm ESTWell hello there! It looks like Blu Chalk and I have a surplus of puppies to give away. How exciting~ This contest is going to be a bit different from what the norm is around here. You'll have the opportunity to enter for the pups with a RP entry, or with an art entry! Woo! Please read the rules carefully and follow the criteria, using the forms to post your entries. Rules1. The pups must stay in the Nyota-Wasomaji pack at least until they're adols. It would be great if they stuck around to keep the pride numbers strong, though~ 2. Read up on the pack. Make sure it's something you're interested in RPing. Click on the image at the top of the post to bring you right to the N'W pack information thread. 3. Fairly active users, please! These pups are not for sig candy alone. I understand life gets hectic, but please try to stretch their legs out from time to time. Blu and I are more than willing to RP with the puppies. 4. No evil pups. Asku and Namid are far from evil, mean, spiteful, etc. They don't have to be exactly like mom or dad, of course. 5. All pups will have the Protostar ranking. 6. There's no naming criteria, but both Namid and Asku's names are from various Native American languages. 7. You may enter for as many pups as you'd like, but you can only win one. Spread the N'W puppy love!

Meet the Parents Namid, the spacy mother Namid appears extremely spacey to observers, but she is passionate about her unique connection to the stars. This connection is the most important thing to her and she will let nothing get in her way. Everything else is a nuisance and unnecessary. She very much goes against the norm, but that doesn’t bother her. As long as she lives her life by the way of the stars, she will feel complete. Namid was born into a pack of normal Wild Dogs with the average number of siblings, which all acted pretty normal too. She, on the other hand, was always by herself babbling about things that her mother and siblings just couldn’t understand. Her family left her alone. Though, her mother would often try to hide her from the neighboring packs so they wouldn’t think her family was weird. Her father wasn’t worried because he just thought Namid was going through a faze as a pup. Of course, he was wrong and just thought ignoring the situation would make it go away. Namid didn’t care. She left her family to go a journey to where she met Asku and the N'W pack.  Askuwheteau, the frazzled dad Asku is very patient and kind. He enjoys going out of his way to help others and feels like it is his life mission to assist anyone he possibly can. He is on the quiet side and could be seen as timid, but if he’s backed into a corner and given no peaceful way out, he will fight to protect himself and whoever he is with. When Asku was a pup, his father was killed by a rouge lion, along with his two sisters. He was raised by his mother – a kind soul – and lived every day like his father had lived his last. He felt like his father’s sacrifice was the gods way of showing him what he was to do with his own life: to serve and protect others. Of course, he took after his mother’s personality rather than his father’s, so becoming a fierce warrior was out of the question. He was a quiet youth and rarely made a fuss, so his helpful lifestyle was mostly contained to doing favors for other creatures rather than fighting to protect. After meeting Namid, he left his pack to follow her on her journey to Nyota-Wasomaji. Bring on the Pappies!Blu's Puppies: This boy is a triplet with Just Like Dad and Twin Sister. 1: You've heard a few members of the pack calling your mother crazy, absent-minded, and weird. Sure, mom may be kind of spacy, but she's not all those things! What would you do? Would you confront the other members of the pack and stand up for your mother? Would you go talk to your dad about it? Maybe ask mom about it?
2: Dad's been frazzled lately having eight pups and a rather out-there mate to look after. Will you help him out by keeping tabs on your siblings, or will you go with mom to help her find that pesky flower she's been looking for? Or, perhaps, will you do your own thing?
3: Star gazing is a huge part of your pride. Everyone sleeps during the day so they can sit up all night to look at the stars. All right, artists. Time to let your inner Picasso shine! Using whatever medium you prefer, construct a piece depicting the cub of your choice. The N'W pack is very in tune with the stars and evening sky, so please keep to the theme of night time in your piece. Meaning: Native American (Algonquin) for handsome
Personality: He is very similar to his father with his easy going attitude but is more out-going than Asku. He's always playing around his his siblings. Anyone tries to intimidate his sisters and Dad's not around, he will do the best that he can to protect them at all cost. He doesn't understand what's going on with his mom and her love of the stars yet, but he understands that his dad has a lot to deal with right now.
RP Sample:
Hurrit looked around the land as he ventured out of the den, looking around as the night embraced him for any of his siblings or his parents. He welcomed the cool night air as he took a deep breath into his small lungs and exhaled. He looked up at the stars curiously; maybe one day he would understand what Momma meant when she said they spoke to her. His thoughts were interrupted when he spotted his dad trying to make the choice between going after one of his sister's or going after his mother as she started wandering off away from where Asku and the rest of the pups had been gathered. He took another deep breath and puffed out his tiny chest.
"I'll get her, Dad!" he called to Asku and gave chase to his sister. He caught a small smile from his father as he dashed off. The smile caused little Hurrit's chest to puff out once again. Receiving a smile from his dad was the greatest compliment in his mind and he would do anything to get more from him. He wanted to make his dad proud and if helping catch his runaway siblings could make Daddy proud of him, he would do it!

Name: Anpaytoo
Meaning: Native American Sioux name for radiant
Personality: Anpaytoo lives up to the title of Miss Individual. She is neither like her mother or her father, instead she is quite a bit of a diva. She tries to get her way with everything, even using the puppy dog look on her dad to try to get him to give into her. She tries to make herself seem better than her siblings which results in her getting on their nerves. She'll even try to take the role of 'boss' when Dad is distracted with Mom.
RP Sample:
Anpaytoo walked through the den with her head held high, looking around at all the walls and constellations that had been inscribed on them by the elder members. One day she would get to add her own constellation to the walls when she grew up, or at least that's what she had heard. As she looked at them, she huffed slightly. When her time came, she had it in her head that she would be able to find the biggest and best constellation with the best story to go with it ever! Then her siblings would have to listen to her; no way would they be able to find one better than whatever one she found.

Meaning: Native American Cree meaning star blanket
Personality: He is a very shy, quiet pup; much like his father had been at his age. He is a bit of a loner and slightly restless, preferring his own company to the company of his siblings. He also prefers the company of the stars; adopting a bit of his mother's love of them as his own. It is under their light that he feels settled and comforted. Though he doesn't get what his mom means when she says they speak to her, he hopes to understand one day and have the stars be able to speak to him too.
RP Sample:
Aktah rolled onto his back, stretching out his tiny paws towards the stars above his head. Lying like this helped him get a better few of the night sky and the comforting light of the stars. He had been restless ever since he had woken up but now under the bright stars, he finally started to feel calm. He could understand why his mom found them so fascinating. It was amazing to watch them all shine, lighting up the area through the night, especially when it seemed that they moved. He would spot one in one part of the sky and if he laid there long enough, it would be in a different spot! Maybe they were restless, too.

Name: Aranck
Meaning: Native American Algonquin for "stars"
Personality: A bit outwardly protective rather than that silent warrior in him he stands up for the ones he loves because it's just that, he loves his family more than anything in the world. There are times when he is like his mother when he sits and ponders on things, his mind leaving him. Running away with his imagination about what it would be like to touch a star, taste a star or look at one up close, intriged with finding a shooting star he heard from one of the pack members. Aside from those traits he's playful and enjoys following his mother around.
RP Sample: (Prompt One)They were hushed whispers swirling around the members of the pack, maybe a few, maybe all of them, but those whispers were all the same. Those very whispers that made this little one pause in his way to listen. Questions popped in Ran, short for Aranck, mind. Why were they calling her such names? Does she know? Does father know? Ran had to find out before he went to those very pack members and told them to be quiet.
Bounding off he searched for his father. Finding him he bombarded him with the same questions from his mind. Practically bouncing on his heels he ran off to find his mother, the sudden energy to know the answers, to defend his mother was boiling through him like a steam pot ready to blow. No no no he would have to save most of that energy to face off with those members of his pack for calling her names. After all if you had nothing nice to say don't say anything at all.

Username: Natsuko-neko Which pup would you like?: P5 Twin sister Name: Namid Meaning: Native American Cheyenne name meaning "star dancer." Personality: She is very energetic and hates to be still for very long unless it is the sky that keeps her attention, she can sit for hours staring at the havens though from time to time will instead bounce around in a dance in the light. She does not like to be left alone for very long, finding comfort with at least someone else around her, so it's very likely that when ever she wants to play or go somewhere Namid will attempt to drag the nearest sibling or parent with her. Username: L1m3_gr33n_sh4rp13 Which pup would you like?: Splotchy eye <3<3 Name: Wicapi Wakan Meaning: Dakota name meaning holy star Personality: Wicapi takes after his mother in a few regards. He is a bit of a space case and totally obsesssed with the stars. He could spend hours watching them and tracking their movements. He feels he has a strong connection to them and thinks that he is a star child and that one of those stars represents him and that it symbolizes his future journies. (And I do not plan on trying to make him leave if that last bit seemed a little misleading.) But, he is very loving towards his siblings and while a space case, he does seem a bit clingy and often likes to eb around at least one of his brothers or sisters and tags along them almost like a lost puppy. He does complain sometimes when they may want to walk around a bit, as it makes watching stars hard without tripping, you know, not watching where you walk and all, but deep down he enjoys the company. He is pretty timid around those not his family though. Also, he tries hard to impress his mother and father and constantly tries to show them how smart and insightful he is, though he is kinda fail at that being so young. He supposed he was like mom in that way, he could swear they even spoke to him sometimes. The first night he looked up into the stars he knew which one he felt represented him. He couldn't tell you the name yet, but he knew it was his. Perhaps it was a representation of his past lives (if those existed) and that it would guide him in his future decision making. No matter what, he loved to lay there and stare off into the stars, memorizing constellations and patterns his parents told him about. Even if any of his siblings complained about the constant star gazing at night, Wicabi didn't even understand their irritations of the activity. He simply adored watching stars and was only sad when the sun came out and the stars began to fade. If he could have it his way, it would stay starry out all the time, day or night. Constant darkness only lit up by the bright lights of the moon and the stars. That would make him truly happy, continuous darkness and the soft lights of the stars constantly showing him things in their patterns and shapes, all he had to do was "connect the dots." She loses track of her steps and can usually be found wondering where everyone went. She loves to run, jump and play and while she likes stars and all, she doesn't quite get why they are so important, so she usually likes to spend her nights lurking nearby her star gazing family members then randomly pouncing them, begging them to play with her. When they tell her to sit back and watch the stars, she usually pouts and then tries to use emotional blackmail to get what she wants and if -that- fails, she will run off on her own then ask herself "now how did I get all the way out here? And which way is home? o.O? That basically describes this boy. He doesn't understand the word "play", well, he DOES, but he doesn't -do- the whole play thing. He takes everything far too seriously. From helping daddy watch his siblings, to watching the stars. He always has this no nonsense look on his face and acts much older than he is. Some think he's bat-s**t crazy (in a way), but in reality he just is a no nonsense puppy. He tries really hard to enjoy star gazing and stuff with his family, but he takes it far too seriously and can get into arguments with his siblings if they say something he feels is too... unreasonable, or just incorrect. He's kind of the odd man out, though he does try to help dad watch the siblings, and tries to help his mom (though he thinks she's weird and doesn't understand how she is related to him because of her space-cadet derp-ness.)
