Race: Scorpion Chimera
Natural Ability:Randovenom Carrol's tail injects a venom that causes his victims to gain one strange, usually very wacky "otherworldly power" for a very short time. This power will last a grand total of thirty seconds while Carrol is a student, and graduate to a full minute when he... graduates.
If a character is stung, their player will roll for their effect on the appropriate table under the spoiler. The table used is dependent on Carrol's grade, not the character's.
year one

It doesn't hurt, it just kind of happens.

You kind of understand the translation of what you're saying because of this, but you don't actually understand the language itself, so if people speak it back to you, you're unlikely to comprehend unless they're just repeating what you said. 5: You can draw remarkably well. Too bad all that comes out is hedgehogs, rocks, anime eyes, and the poop emoji. 6: Your fingers don't work. 7: You can't stop the strong rainbow beam of light that's shining out of your eyes. 8: Clean, fresh water pours out of your mouth (or comparable orifice) for the duration of this effect. It doesn't hurt, it just kind of happens. 9: Everything smells like wet werewolf. 10: Instinctively, you know everything there is to know about archery. You're sure that if you had an arrow in your hands right now you could curve that s**t like Wanted and kill everyone in this place. Now, if only you could find a bow... (This roll has no actual effect on the character's archery skill, it just makes them think they're really good at it.)
Randovenom does not work on Carrol himself. It will never be used in a situation where it might grant someone an unfair advantage or mess with a meta or for any other game-breaking reason. In fact, I doubt it will be used on player characters very much at all, and certainly not without permission. I am willing and eager to tweak it to meet shop specifications if it's deemed too dramaworthy.
Personality: happy Carrol is happy all the time. All the time. The only exception to this is when either he himself or someone he cares for immensely is in extreme physical pain. Even then, he's more likely to giggle awkwardly as he/they bleed out than express any sort of real concern.
sociable There is nothing that Carrol wants more than to talk to you. He doesn't care how you look or smell, he doesn't even care if you're openly hostile toward him! Look out, shy kids.
curious The child of an overeager, compulsively lying Trick or Treater, Carrol has heard some wild stories in his day, all of which he believes, no matter how outlandish and untrue. He wants to see, touch and taste this bizarre world his mother described to him, and he is not afraid to do so, even when it's inappropriate.
talkative This boil is only truly silent when he's asleep. Mostly. He snores. When he's awake, Carrol makes a point of talking as much as he can. Loudly. He doesn't even have to speak of particularly interesting things, as long as his mouth is moving and sounds are coming out.
easily overwhelmed Did everyone just die again? Are blue shirts on sale? Is someone talking about boobs? When people are excited around him, Carrol is quadruplely so, occasionally even when he doesn't like the thing that is being discussed.
short attention span Carrol's ability to stay in one place focusing on one thing is severely impaired. He'll wander off while having a conversation, and has even been known to do so in the middle of a sentence. No offense.
Likes: talking, being vulgar, watching screeV, playing twitch games, destroying things
Dislikes: being still, being quiet, vegetables, cleaning, politeness, sports
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Several years back while on a trip to the human world, Carrol's Trick-or-Treater mother disappeared. For a number of months after that, Carrol was put into the custody of his father and his father's sister, a pair of ghosts who didn't know the first thing about raising this sort of chimera. Now that he's been shuttled off to live with his mother's brother in a rustic suburb, the boil wants to attend Amityville mostly because his life is so boring. Plus, he's been hanging out around the school for years now anyway.
FEAR Ability: Not Here (The Mind) Carrol's physical form appears to flicker in and out of this world, making him harder to see, and therefore hit.
Physical Description: Eye Colour: One brown human; one yellow reptile; one red insect; one glowing blue... something.
Hair Colour/Style: Carrol's hair is bright orange and looks like a long, peppy, gravity-defying combover. At first glance, one might think it's held on by the rubber band tied under his chin, but the hair is actually attached to his scalp. So's the rubber band. The rest of his head is bald, except for, of course, his eyebrows.
Skin Colour: Dark grey/black. Shiny like a bug's exoskeleton.
Clothing Style/Colours: Generally baggy, teenage things. He doesn't wear shoes.
Extra: He has a thin scorpion tail and a two-inch gap below his ribcage. Any clothing he puts on sits like regular clothing for about ninety seconds before it splits as well, at least for as long as he has it on. Sticking things in his torso gap causes Carrol discomfort at first, then pain if the object isn't removed within several minutes. Carrol cannot move the lower half of his body away from the upper half. His body functions as if it was all one piece. There's no magic holding it together or anything. It's just like that.
Carrol is fairly lanky with relatively thin limbs compared to the mass of his torso. His hands and feet are the size and color of a pasty white toddler's. He is 5'5" in student form and about 23" at the shoulder in natural form.
He regularly wears some sort of stocking cap or sock on the end of his tail to remind him not to use it. And braces. His teeth are a mess.
References: See above. (Old refs from when he was 13 and had multiple bug eyes, a hairy tail, and three fingers on each hand, none of which he has anymore yay. He still got dem teeth tho: xx)

Natural Form: Without his pin, Carrol shifts into his natural form, a golden retriever-sized, seven-legged wig monster.
A hand formed. A human hand, pink and the size of a baby's. Stretching out from behind it, instead of a human arm, was something like an insect's leg. It was a foot long, springing out to length before our eyes like a radio antenna. Something like a shell took shape. I saw an eye, red and clustered like a fly's. Another eye, this one with a round pupil, grew in next to it. Then another eye, yellow with a black slit down the center. Reptilian.
The thing grew and grew some more. It grew to the size of a rabbit, then a small dog, then stopped when it was about a foot-and-a-half high and maybe three feet wide, probably the same overall mass as Molly.
The finished creature seemed to be assembled of spare parts. It had a tail like a scorpion curling up off its back. It walked on seven—yes, seven—legs, each ending in one of those small, pink infantile hands. It had a head that was sort of an inverted heart shape, a bank of mismatched eyes in an arc over a hooked black beak, like a parrot's. On its head, no kidding, it had a tuft of neatly groomed blond hair that I swear on my mother's grave was a wig, held on with a rubber band chinstrap.
What was strange about it, or rather, what was stranger about it was that the two sections of its body—the hindquarters and the abdomen—were not connected. There was a good two inches of space between them and when it turned sideways you could see right through the thing. But it moved in unison, as if they were connected by invisible tissue.
Hey Smerd! My only concern is that by being a wig monster it looks to be a cosplay species. My suggestion is that maybe they are a construct chimera of some sort. Chimeras can basically be a mishmash of animals (So a Dog, scorpion, idk what else)
A lot of Carrol's traits seem to come from being a wig monster, but admin might be able to work with you give the potential to be have an OP natural ability and such.
Maybe with something like a constructed chimera, it could have the natural ability as 'magic half' where the body has that gap, but as far as the soy sauce man IDK. It's definitely something to go over the admins with than just a GM. ORZ sorry I can't be of much help otherwise.
i don't think i ever did more than skim that really obvious cosplay sticky because i assumed it was for character-based cosplays, not species ones

Welcome to This is Halloween!
Congratulations! Your character has passed the enrollment process and you're cleared to begin playing. Essentially, this means you can get your art certed, make your character's journal, and most importantly start RPing. If you're a little lost then don't worry, this guide is here to point you in the right direction.
