User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Ru'yah sprawlled out across the flat ground. The sun boiled her blacken coat and caused her to feel like she was melting into a puddle. Ah, but that was alright; no one had asked any favours of her yet today, she could relax. For at the very least, she felt so. She watched intently as an ant crossed in front of her nose. What could possibly compell the little bug to cross such a wide space? To risk life and limb just to reterive something insigifigant? It puzzeled the lioness. She was never one to do anything that no one told her to. Unless you count sleeping and being lazy, she was great at that...

Speaking with the fluffy male, Athena, had helped put Maysa back into her grove again. She was still wary of the males that prowled the rogues that she called home, but she wasn't acting like a prey animal either, so Maysa thought she had reached a balance. And she would keep it balanced. For herself, but for Jael as well.

The heat was becoming insufferable with her black coat. She needed to find a nice shady place to relax until the sun lowered its position as well as its power. As Maysa trotted, her head held high, she looked for a good place to stop. Under a nice tall tree maybe. When she found the tree she decided would be hers for the afternoon, Maysa redirected herself and quickly made her way to it.

"Ahhh," Maysa sighed, settling down. The view was perfect from here too. That was an unexpected pleasure. The good shade spots were normally less view-friendly and often between two rocks or some such place. But here it was nice. She took in the view slowly, looking at the life in the area, looking for her favorite flowers or her favorite prey animal, not that she was hungry, but she still liked to look and watch.

Her gaze roamed onto the a black coat. It belonged to a lioness and it took Maysa less time to identify the gender and species than it had the last time she was with another person. A moment of pride in herself as her abilities came back with her confidence. Than she refocused on the black lioness.

Was she crazy? She'd ruin her coat that way! Maysa rose to her feet and shouted, "Excuse me! What are you doing? Get out of the sun!"

Get out of the sun? Ah, she probabley should move soon. Ru'yah felt she might really melt. She began to wonder what her legs would like if they melted. Icky green muck of all things.

She wiggled her toes, they hadn't melted yet, so she could still walk if she wanted to. Thing was, she didn't really want to. She wanted to keep being lazy and melt away until someone had a chore she could do for them. But of course, this new lioness had commanded her to move, so up she went.

By the way the black lioness moved, Maysa knew, she just knew she was going to have to help her. Look at her gait. No pride. No grace or beauty in it. And it didn't take Maysa long to see why. Green legs. Well, the lioness had a lot of good features, she just had to start playing them. And acquire new ones too.

"Come over and sit by me." Maysa settled herself down in her spot again and waited for the black and green lioness to arrive. Definitely not enough pride in her gait. Nope. Maysa was just going to have to fix that. How else was the lioness going to attract the right males, and intimidate the wrong ones?

Ru'yah walked over and laid down next the other lioness. Shade felt quite good on her black fur, it cooled her down quickly. She should have moved into the shade inside of just laying in the sun; it was much more comfortable for sleeping.

She wondered what time of the day it was. If only she knew, then she could greet the other lioness by reciting the time of the day. Well, she could guess. That mean't a little effort though... However, she wasn't going to get her conversation started by just laying around like a blob of mush; she'd need to talk somehow.

"Good afternoon." She mumbled. Due to how hot the sun had became while she just lazed about, she assumed it was afternoon now. "Why did you want me to move?" She asked. The lioness hadn't taken Ru'yah's spot, so she was curious as to why she had to move anyways. Well, the shade was nicer than the heat, but other than that Ru'yah just couldn't come up with a decent reason...

"Good afternoon," Maysa greeted rather proudly. At least the lioness had manners. Manners were important to being confident and strong and proud. Manners, hopefully, would be one of the areas that the lioness didn't have to work on. "You shouldn't be the sun for so long with your black coat of fur. It would only ruin what assets you already have. Tell me what's your name?"

Maysa started to groom herself between her sentences. While she never would have done this in front of Athena or any of the other males she had met on her travels, in front of another female or lover, or a mate, it wasn't considered impolite during a conversation. And she did have a duty to keep herself in the best of conditions.

"I'm Ru'yah." She said calmly. Actually she said most things calmly, always hinting towards her desire to sleep. "What's your name?" She asked, placing her head on her paws. She noticed a little bit of dirt was stuck to her green fur, then she thought about a cheetah she had once met. He was so obsessed with keeping his fur clean, even though he was in the middle of eating and bound to get dirty anyways.

She glanced at the lioness next to her and decided to semi-mimic her in cleaning her fur. She licked her paws as to avoid moving so much; she was still in her lazy mode after all.

Relaxing with another female under the shade was nice. There was no pressure or tension or expectations. "Maysa. So what were you doing out there by yourself, Ru'yah?" Maysa asked absentmindedly. "Are you traveling alone too?"

"Ah, I was... Sunbathing, heat feels nice on my back sometimes..." Ru'yah had paused to think of a decent explaination. In all truth she hadn't really been sure what she was doing. She hadn't any motivation to do much lately, not to hunt, not to talk, nor to travel... She was progessingly becoming stuck in a rut of extreme laziness. That wasn't good, she needed to get more active. How else was she suppost to be able to do little minor chores for others? She needed to be more... Social.

Well, she was being a little social at the moment. Saying one sentence to the other lioness beside her. But Ru'yah was always more of a listener than a talker anyways, it wasn't uncommon for her to only say a few words every time she opened her mouth.

"Yes, I'm travelling alone." She really always had. Never sticking with one person for too long. The one time she did and that person had left to tend to other, more important matters. So now she was all alone again. Well, that didn't bother Ru'yah much... Anymore...

Maysa understood the pleasure of a sunbath, but really with the sun so high? She'd never let the noon time sun beam down on her dark coat and neither should Ru'yah. "Well, sunbath in the morning sun, after you hunt, not at noon from now on." Maysa looked over at the other lioness. "What would have happened if I had stumbled across you today? You would have been dehydrated and that's not good at all."

Maysa shook her head a little at the thought of a pretty lioness abusing herself in such a way. She couldn't understand the lack of care the lioness had for herself at the moment, though at least Ru'yah cared enough to groom herself. That was better than what Maysa had seen sometimes while she had been traveling.

"So am I. I'm traveling to get back to my ... my friend." Maysa hesitated in labeling Jael. She didn't know if she could still call him her mate. If he still considered her his mate. That was rather ... disheartening.

She shook herself. Enough of that. It wasn't the place or time to lose confidence. "Pass me that twig over there."

Ru'yah slid her paw across the ground and latch her paw onto the stick Maysa requested. After she slid it back over to the lioness keeping her company, Ru'yah began to consider her sunbathing method. She had all the time in the world to do as she pleased, so bathing in the morning would be best as Maysa suggested.

After all, she wasn't really too keen on dying from dehydration.

She turned her attention to her new friend and watched with her tired, lazy eyes, curious as to what the other lioness wanted it for. Something as simple as using the twig as a toothpick was possible (although it would be a little large for a toothpick), maybe even a back scratcher. Although Ru'yah didn't see that happening. Her companion didn't seem like the type of lioness to do such things in front of others. Although, that being said the green legged of the two still could have easily been wrong about that assumed conclusion.

Maysa took the twig from her companion, quickly sharpened on ends with her claws. "Thank you, Ru'yah." Maysa said carelessly before she started digging out the dirt, dust, and grim from under her claws and around them with the twig in her mouth. She bit into it using her front teeth delicately and daintily.

Pausing between claws to get the stick out of her mouth, Maysa looked around the area. It looked like almost nothing was moving. "How long have you been in this area, Ru'yah? What kind of food have you seen around?"

She started on the next claw, but split her attention between her grooming and her companion. Maysa was getting kind of hungry, and by the time she woke from her noontime nap, she'd be ready for a good meal.

"Well... There's a small herd of zebra wandering around here somewhere." Not so much a herd as it was two or three lost zebra. Ones that had been probably slowly picked off by whatever bothered to hunt them as they travelled.

And now the few survivors' journey would end.

Ru'yah sat up in the shade, allowing small rays of sunlight to begin heating her tail. She found it... Interesting in a word, about how much power hunters had over the hunted. How, here Ru'yah was, relaxing in the shade without any worries over being killed. Meanwhile, her potential meal that awaited her was wandering around carefully watching for any attackers; only to relize that it would be to late if an actual preditor found it.

The green-legged lioness decided her life would have been very different had she been born a prey-beast. Maybe she would have been a little more active than she was now... She shook herself, as Maysa had done previously, Ru'yah was a lioness. She was born a lioness and she'd die a lioness. There was no point worrying over what she could have been when she wasn't going to turn into that anytime soon anyways.

Maysa finished picking out the dirt, dust and grime from beneath her claws and tossed the twig to the side. She yawned at looked for the small herd but didn't see it. "Well, I have been traveling for a very long time and I am weary. Keep watch while I nap, would you, Ru'yah. And then I'll take watch." Maysa yawned again.

It had been so long since she could indulge the luxury of a deep restful nap in the middle of the day. "Then we can move on from here after hunting. Maybe after hunting." Not that Maysa actually expected the other female to travel with her, but she figured they had both been on their ways when they had stopped to take a rest from the exhaustion of traveling. Never mind traveling by themselves, and having to hunt and watch their own backs.

Though, Maysa wouldn't mind the company of another lioness, but she didn't want to find Jael when she was with another female. There was too much between them. Too much for her to make up for. And he was too handsome to introduce to another until she did.

Ru'yah stretched her front out, her hind legs remaining where they were thus appearing that Ru'yah was doing some sort of a stretch. She then reeled her paws back towards her and sat tiredly on the ground. Giving up the idea of hunting and focusing more on keeping watch for anything that would pose as a potential threat.

Though, a threat seemed to be a rare find so far out in the middle of nowhere. Perhapes she'd keep an eye out for the staying prey beasts instead, if they wandered near the green legged of the two lioness' could provide them both with a snack.

Ru'yah yawned, but nodded in a delayed agreement to Maysa as she sat her behind back on the dirt, already eyeing the landscape for anything worthy of hunting.
