(( OOC: This is open primarily to cubs in the pride! heart There's a LOT of new cubs, and especially a lot of new owners, so I thought it'd be nice to have one big ORP for us all! heart Also, sorry to everyone for Rashmi's RP color ^^;; )) Rashmi stretched as the sun rose, smiling into the dawn. She looked around from the den she was staying in, currently with Singh amid the medics. And from what her cubs had babbled at her about, most of them didn't seem to be up to leaving the dens once they grew up. Little medics... She soon roused them and ushered them all out, an impressive little brood to be sure, with two sets of twins present. The boys would be fun in particular... When she reached the spot where all the other cubs were, the lioness settled down to enjoy the morning of watching the cubs play. Roused from having fun trying to learn their father's trade, Umiriti had dutifully gone with their mother to socialize with the other cubs in the pride. The young cub took a seat in the sand, looking around intently at everyone. After a moment, he went up to a cub covered in patches of orange and black, poking his shoulder. "Hi there! I'm Umiriti! What's your name?" He wasn't sure he'd met this young lion before. There were so many cubs right now, according to Father, that they went out in shifts to play. Not that he was sure what a shift was... Utambaa was as robust and fierce as any Firekin cub could call themself. He stalked his mother's tail, pouncing on it with a little roar. The adversary moved to and fro, making the hunt difficult, but he soon caught it, rolling onto his back and chewing on the red and black hairs. He was soon rebuffed and pushed to join the other cubs, and found himself face-to-face with... Solid, stark white framed with black. "Oh... I'm Utambaa-pepea moto..." He blinked a bit at this cub he found strange, then frowned. "Which litter do you belong to?"Uriti turned and pointed. "The all white one!""Oh..." Utambaa frowned for a moment, then got up. "Nice to meet you, Uriti. Wanna go poke someone else with me?" He smiled a bit as the other cub nodded, and he led the way. Oh, he'd have fun with THIS one...

Calida was purposefully avoiding the crowd this morning. She was as eager as any of her siblings to learn what their father did and how he did it.. but she was interested in exploring her talents as a huntress. Mostly because it was an easy game and bothering her brothers was a lot of fun. So while Umiriti found and introduced himself to the black-and-orange cub, Calida stalked them. Her main tactic was to stay behind her brother, figuring if she stayed there then she could not be noticed, period. It was surprisingly easy since he had a new friend to focus on. So while he was recruited by Utambaa, the little white cub sneaked closer and closer-- And then suddenly she shrieked as the black-and-orange cub ruined everything by starting off in her direction. She ducked down into the sand, covering her eyes with both paws and hoping they didn't see her. But between her cry and the fact that covering your own eyes doesn't hide you from others, she was caught.

As far as cubs went, Keegan wasn't the happiest. She was more on the grumpy side, and frequently plagued by headaches; unusual for a cub. The truth about it was she had visions in her sleep, but had yet to remember any them when she woke up. So, needless to say, her sleep wasn't the easiest, and her waking hours suffered in consequence.
Today, though, she was in a better mood than usual, and more willing to try and enjoy herself. Beneath all her grump Keegan did want friends and companionship and greatness, her headaches just made it hard! She wasn't the best at making friends, though, so when she finally happened upon other cubs, she just stood around for a while. Now what? "Um. Hi!" She said loudly, deciding to befriend whomever was the first to answer.
Keezheekoni, for her part, had very different reasons for being apprehensive! She wasn't too sure where her brother was, and her own life so far had been pretty traumatic. It shouldn't be a surprise she was very shy. But her 'foster dad', Yayuka, had recommended she try to make some not-her-brother friends. And in recommending he had left her here for a little while.
Her solution, then, was to crouch down as soon as she saw other cubs, and stare as they went about playing and chatting with each other. Cubs were less intimidating than grownups, but... still.

Utambaa noticed the gray cub right away, a grin lighting up his face as he elbowed his new-found friend. When he pointed at her, he got a head shake. "What, not her? Why not pounce her?""Mom wants us to expand our circle of friends outside 'brothers and sisters'... But..." He rubbed his chin, thinking a moment, before he took off running. "I know the perfect idea!" He looked around at the other cubs gathered, before his eyes fell on Keezheekoni. As he ran up to her, he gave her a playful swat. "You're it!" He then tore off across the sand. "The orange girl with the black stripe's it!" He had no idea yet what her name was, but that didn't matter for the game. As he ran, he jumped over Keegan, almost crashing into her.Utambaa's eyes lit up, before he let out a laugh and ran to give Keegan a push. "Com on, Keegan, run! The orange girl's it!" Though the other cub wasn't actually his sister, he saw her as one, since his mother was helping with raising her and her littermates. Shula had been up-front to them about that fact, and that their mother was gone but must always be remembered and honored in the children she'd left behind in the world. As he ran, he ended up tripping right over Umiriti's sister. "Whoops!"

Calida's ears twitched as it she tried her very best to hear what they were saying but the pounding of her heart and her excitement made it impossible to tell. Had they noticed her or not? Were they coming for her or was she well hidden? As she began to calm down she realized they must be intentionally avoiding her- and then a loud 'hi!' from nearby distracted her. After a hesitation, she peeked out from under her paws and looked around- just in time to spot Utambaa as he ran right over her.
"Ah!" she squeaked, scrambling backwards to get away, "Watch out!"

Bakar was in a mood. It was one of the many traits he had inherited from his mother. And much like his mother, it wasn't that Bakar simply was a grouch. He was downright spiteful when he had a tantrum. Self destructive, even.
Unlike his mother, his tantrums usually had the most inconsequential of reasons. Today, it was because he hadn't wanted to eat the meal the hunters provided. With all the hubbub of the sentinels returning and meetings to attend, Armada was far too busy trying to restore her career than to cater to her children's every whim.
So Bakar was left to stew and listen to his stomach growl. With no adults to lend him an ear, he glared daggers at some of the other cubs as they ran by. Not that he wanted to play or anything. He was very sure that he turned up his nose in full view.
But he wasn't the only one watching cubs. Up above in the thermals, Yoan fluttered about, watching the kids toss around and play. He'd always liked kids. They helped him think, and he had a lot on his mind.

"Aaaugh! No!" Her response wasn't playful at all, Keezheekoni had been startled. "I'm not it!" She hit the sand and covered her eyes pathetically, proving once and for all she was currently the worst 'it' ever. One day she might get over her fearfulness, but it certainly wasn't today. At the very least not right now. She might have done better had she been informed of what was going on beforehand, but simply being ran up to and tagged!
Keegan did run! A little bit. Then when she saw the orange cub's utter failure, she made a face, and shot a glare at Umiriti "Boy, you sure know how to pick them!" She groused. The one day Keegan was willing to try and play, and her brother couldn't even pick a decent person to play tag with! With an impatient little huff, she trotted over to the orange cub, oblivious to what was going on with Calida and Utambaa, and the watching Bakar.
"Hey, you. It's a game." She prodded the other cub. "You're it. That means you're supposed to chase us."
While Keezheekoni did uncover her eyes, she didn't look like she was about to run about and play tag. She knew how to play, but was just to jittery to do it. "...I'll just watch for now." At least she could provide a (lame) excuse.

Pele was feeling particularly mischievous today. She bounded along the dusty ground and her red eyes fell upon a group of lions similar to her own age. "No way!" She smiled widely and trotted towards the others, until she noticed a familiar ivory masked face. "Oh, Bakar! Hey!" Pele could tell her brother was in a mood, he had been all morning, despite wanting to wind him up, she also had a genuine concern for her siblings when they were feeling ill at ease. "Whats up?" She sped towards him and tried to use him as a buffer, as her legs began to move faster than she'd like. "Woaah." She landed in a heap at his paws.

((I don't have any cubs. xD So you'll have to DEAL WITH IT. emotion_dealwithit )) The sound of young voices raised over the sands drew the attention of a dark lioness and she turned her heavily scarred face in the direction of the noise. Investigation was her job, but this time seemed like a good one to do a little something that wasn't quite so serious as the rest of her life.
Morag smiled as the energetic group came into view, carefully skirting around the edges till she could join Rashmi outside her den. It was a good vantage point from which to keep an eye on everything, and part of Morag had to give respect to a mother's instinct. Maybe one day she would learn how that felt, if fortune favored her, but for now she was content with her busy life.
The Spymaster offered a soft greeting to the white lioness as she settled to sit beside her, her red eyes automatically scanning for Keezheekoni and assuring herself the little one wasn't in over her head. There was a sense of responsibility in the action, though a situation like this hardly warranted it.

What a glorious morning it promised to be as Keahi stretched, and yawned, and clawed lightly at the rocky earth beneath his cub-sized paws. Even though he had only just woken up, his brilliant golden eyes were already on the lookout for any sort of mischief he could incite. He'd managed to distance himself from his mother and siblings, having little interest in continuing to mingle with them when there was the opportunity to meet other cubs. His tail flicked to and fro as he considered his options, when something much more interesting came into view; a big black and white lioness wearing armor that glistened in the sun. That, to him, was way more interesting than the game of tag that was taking place.
The little male made a beeline for her, grinning wickedly as he slowed down. He stalked in from the side, before charging and pouncing against one of her forepaws. The petulance of his 'greeting' was unknown to him, and he batted a paw against the brilliant red gem set into her bracer, craning his neck to look up at the spymaster. "Hey, this is real shiny. What's it for?" he skipped right to the point, blatantly curious.

Titos yawned. He'd woken up a little late this morning and he'd just finished his meal. He shook his head trying to chase the sleep away and wandered out of the den. He stretched, yawning again as he did it and sat down to bask in the sun for a moment.
'Hmmm...today's going to be nice.'
He was just wondering what to do when the voices of other cubs reached him. He got up and made a few slow steps in the direction of the noise, tilting his head curiously. He was a little hesitant to go anywhere without his mother. But he hadn't met any of the other cubs yet.
Without another thought he ran off to join them. Once he reached them he was about to shout 'Hello' when a white cub flew past him in the opposite direction, startling him. So much that he almost tripped over two other cubs, a grey one and one covered in patches of black and orange.
"Woah!" he yelped as he dug in his paws, almost falling over on top of them.

The patch-marked cub let out a huff when he spotted the 'it' cub not running and joining them. Frowning, he went over to her, dropping down to her level. "Why watch, when you can join? You wanna make friends here, right?" He gave her shoulder a slight push with his paw, not so much with force, but enough to nudge her. "You never learn to like others if you don't join 'em!"Umiriti stopped running when he realized nobody was chasing. He looked over at his new-found friend trying to give the other cub deemed 'it' a pep talk and went over. "Aw, don't wanna be it this time? Okay!" He looked around, then charged over and pounced on Titos. "You're it now!" He began running again. "Orange is out, white mask is it now!"Utambaa watched Umiriti go, then looked at the orange cub with a grin. "It's your lucky day, you're not it now! Now you just gotta run from that guy!" He gave her another slight shove. "Come on, join the fun! Just one paw in front of the other!"

((Hope you don't my butt in here. Having spent most of the morning on his favourite rock so he might enjoy the slow growing warmth of the sun upon his dark back, the well aged cubsitter gave a faint stretch as he heard the not-so distant titterings and play of the pride's...well...pride and joy. Standing up slowly he gave his limbs a slight stretch.
Despite spending most of his days looking after youth, he still kept up the muscular body the old blood in him had genetically pounded into his system. Large paws displacing the sand beneath his feet as he drew closer to the source of the noise and ruckus, only to smile ever so faintly as he overlooked the youngsters enjoying their cubhood. He noted the mother of maybe a few of them, staying his distance properly until he was allowed but taking the time to survey the landscape briefly. Just incase something was eyeing up the smaller members of the Firekin for their lunch.
Thankfully it didn't seem that way. But he'd made sure that once he caught sight of the Spymaster herself, that he bowed his head respectfully. Even if his mother wasn't within the pride anymore, he'd still been taught that respect for higher ranks was a necessary for all pridal members. And with that out of the way, he went on regarding the cubs with a faintly proud air.

"Hey, are you okay?" Titos asked the grey girl the other male had tripped over. "I'm Titos by the way." Once he made sure she was okay, he walked over to where Patches (as he'd mentally started calling him for now) talked with one of the female cubs. Apparently she was a little shy. "He's right you know. Watching is not as fun as playing." He smiled encouragingly. Then he realised he had no idea what they were playing anyway and was about to ask, but the white cub saved him the trouble by pouncing on him and pronouncing him 'it'.
"Wha..!" was all he managed to squeak out before he found himself on his back. " 'Oh, I'm gonna get you!' he thought as he quickly got back up and shook the dust off him, before dashing after the other cubs. "I'm coming to get you!" He called after them and laughed happily.

The other cub's words seemed to have little effect on Keezheekoni, and while she didn't try to run away, she did continue to regard Utambaa warily. He shoved her once, and she didn't do anything, but the second time around she reacted, not angrily, but she pushed his paw away, evidently not pleased by it. She didn't know this cub, and though he was nice and his intentions seemed good, she simply didn't appreciate how... well, pushy he was. And the girl-cub had also poked her, and seemed less nice.
Still, not all was lost. Another cub came over, and was also nice, then was declared 'it'. She shrugged, offered a small sheepish smile to those around, and halfheartedly ran away from him. Luckily Titos seemed to have his attention elsewhere, or she'd be it in no time.
Keezheekoni didn't stay with her mind in the game long, probably because she spotted a friend. The game was forgotten rather quickly, but she'd probably get back to it soon. "Morag!" She exclaimed happily, and hurried over, only hesitating once she saw another cub had beat her to the spymaster! She was, naturally, a little jealous, but went over anyways.
She watched as Utambaa tried to convince the silly orange cub to play, and wasn't too surprised he wasn't having much of an effect. "Eh, she's a lost cause!" She declared, because Keegan wasn't the most patient of kids. She was far more eager to take advantage of this 'good day' (in terms of headaches) and playing with cubs that wanted to play.
Once a new it was declared, she laughed, rare for her, and ran off. "Can't catch me!"
