DEUS EX MACHINA PERSONNEL FORM

The Hunter
Name: Virgil Addison Montgomery
Nicknames: Virge, V, Prat
Gender: Male
Age: 23

Category: Death

The Weapon
Name: Verenhimo
Nicknames: Ver, Veren, Vicious
Type of Weapon: Hook-bladed Spear. Silver-red tipped with runes in red down the black shaft of the weapon. ( Tip like this, but, you know, on a spear. )
Former species of weapon: Adlet
Gender: Male

Personalities:

Virgil:

Detached: Virgil is utterly emotionally stunted. He's never sure if he's conveying the correct emotions, and he second-guesses everything that he feels. Everything in life that he gives half a damn about has been damaged, destroyed, or otherwise taken from him, at least to his point of view. He chooses to keep any and all things of importance at a certain arm's length, otherwise it will compromise logical thought. Well, that's what he tells himself is the reason for it. As a result, he's very cold and seems unemotional, though that is far from true.

A Man of Intellect: Virge was born with a certain lust for knowledge. A lust that he's attempted to fulfill since he first opened his eyes. He will ask questions, do research, whatever it takes to become utterly familiar with a subject. He enjoys being the resident authority on any matter that interests or concerns him, a trait which quite often makes him seem like a bossy know-it-all. Which, let's be honest, he rather is. His intellect often causes him to look down on others whose talents don't lie in similar intellectual pursuits. His 'need to know' also stems from a rather violent control complex, which, admittedly, is the easiest way to mess with him. As the smartest man in the room, he likes to be in charge of anything that concerns him.

Stubborn: Once Virgil sets his mind to something, it's set in stone. He's an all or nothing kind of guy, and never just 'sort of' does anything. Be it a morning workout routine or devoting himself to a cause, he'll give it his 110%. However, it does mean he can absolutely be insufferable about certain issues. This particular trait also makes Virgil a particularly loyal individual, should you happen to win his trust, and the most vengeful of enemies, should you happen to get on his bad side. The bearer of everlasting grudges, is this individual.

Honorable: Holding himself to a standard, Virgil believes that life should be lived nobly. Not that people should necessarily go out of their way to be good to others, but that one should stringently avoid lying and foul play, making this man one of the most trustworthy around. He spent his entire life watching his father play the two-faced, political game, and Virgil wants none of it.

Creature of Habit: Virgil likes his small comforts. Playing classical music, a glass of wine, reading a book by candlelight. All these and more are habits that he's formed in order to calm and ground himself and give his life a certain element of stability. When he falls into a routine, he likes to be told in advance what's going on, and is loathe to change a set schedule unless it is absolutely necessary.

Random list of things Virgil likes:
- Books
- History
- Poetry
- Musicals
- Wine (Reds in particular)
- Persian Rugs
- Classical Music (also a variety of soundtracks)
- Chess
- Potpourri
- Scarves
- The Cello
- Birdwatching
- Alchemy ( or at least the ideals behind it, it fascinates him )
- Crime Dramas
- Sardines
- Tai Chi
- Exotic Teas
- Mahogany
- Cats
- Candles
- Nutmeg
- Italian

Verenhimo:

Passionate: Though Virgil's devotion to a cause is cold, Verenhimo's is the precise opposite. Everything he does is done with emotions, mind and body fully invested. Full of energy, he is the first one to jump to the task, and he often gives Virgil that push that he needs to become invested in something. Usually some sort of altercation.

Temperamental: Hoo-boy. Coupled with that passion is a rather fiery temperament. It doesn't take anything to set this weapon off! Everything from jabs at his wielder to someone staring at him funny is enough to cause Ver to become crochety and/or enraged. A flashpan temper is cause for trouble whether a guy is living or dead, twould seem.

Bloodthirsty: Ver lives...or rather, lived, to fight. The Adlet loves nothing more than a good tussle, and if blood isn't spilt, then we've wasted the evening. Now that he's a weapon, he has a desperate lust for battle that he oft conveys to Virgil. Even if the Hunter isn't necessarily keen on jumping into action, sometimes Ver is that last nudge in the oft-questionable direction.

Honest: The adlet is a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. Whether he's happy or sad, he'll let you know about it, and it is utterly against his nature to lie about anything. It is the one area where Virgil and Verenhimo most strongly coincide, and it is the very root of their alliance. It does, however, result in a slew of information that most people, especially Virgil, could probably have lived without. Veren is a talkative b*****d.

Unhinged: Let's just say that the transition from Monster to Weapon resulted in a few marbles getting misplaced in the changeover. Sometimes the things that Veren says don't quite make sense, and his reasoning doesn't always pan out quite the way that Virgil (or any logical human being, for that matter) thinks that it ought to. It leaves Ver prone to rambling, interjecting with words that don't really match up, and sometimes his delusions are flint and steel to the dry kindling of the adlet's temper.

Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? From a young age, Virgil was able to see hints of creatures that were anything but human. He vehemently blames the 'monsters in the dark' for the death of his mother, and when offered the chance to fight them, he rather dubiously agreed. After all, he's a fellow with little else left in life. MUCH BETTER EXPLANATION HERE IN SOLO OF DOOM.

Weapon Ability
Bloodlust: Short and sweet. When Verenhimo unleashes this attack, it results in a flurry of blows that result in, as the gamers term it, bleed damage i.e. he makes you bleed your own blood. And a lot of it. A grand portion of this is oft absorbed into the blade of the weapon. Heaven knows what that does.

Physical Description:

Eye Colour: Silvery grey. Almost white.
Hair Colour/Style: Medium-length black hair. Hairstyle pending.
Skin Colour: Pasty. Dat boy dun go out in the daytime much.
Clothing Style/Colours:
Extra: Wears silver-rimmed reading glasses quite often.
