Hana's little chest puffed up as she trotted around the shrine for Strength. She was sooo determined to be the very best guard there could be, but she wasn't old enough to go under apprenticeship yet. So what else was she to do but start training herself? It was easy enough to observe what the true guards were doing, but it was a little hard to mimic their form. She couldn't patrol like them yet, so perhaps hanging around the Strength shrine would make her stronger. Wouldn't the god bless her if she made sure that his shrine was safe?

Still, sometimes she wondered if her siblings were trying to ruin it for her. They were always having so much fun, and tempting her to go play with them instead of practice guarding.... Though the truth was that she grew bored looking at nothing, and it was always more fun to play with her siblings. She would just never, ever admit it.

The Strength shrine was, when R'vav was feeling worshipful, his preferred location. After all, what was more important to a Shifter than strength? However, he wasn't feeling particularly religious today, not as he spotted his sister Hana hanging around, pretending to be a Guard.

The boy snuck up behind her, moving as quietly as he could, before trying to tackle her.

Hana stopped suddenly, seriously wondering if her siblings were off having fun without her. "No..." she said in her young voice, denying that fact. Certainly everyone was getting all excited for landing their apprenticeship, and figuring out who they'd be learning under. Yeah, that was it!

Still too young to really figure out how to be a good guard, Hana had no clue that her brother was right behind her. She was too focused on thinking about the future instead of being a good guard. She'd get quite the shock when she was older that guard duty could be really, really boring.

The juvenile was just extremely impatient, and didn't realize that she was about to get taken down.

Well, then she squealed when she felt it, and tumbled face first.

R'vav laughed with glee as he wrestled with his surprised sister. "Gotcha!"

He didn't know what was going through her mind, and truth be told, he didn't really care. The boy was much more interested in the fun he could have right now than about the nebulous day when he would take his place amongst the Shifters. Yes he looked up to them, their power and strength, but that was for when he was older.

Right now was for trying to chew on Hana's ear!

She was soooo confused at first. What happened? Was this an attack??? Was the god of Strength not going to help her if the shrine came to harm? While her heart was racing at the possibilities, she slowly realized that it was a stupid brother of her's. Hmph! This wasn't funny at all!

"Hey! Heeeey!" Hana flailed at her brother, her little paws flying around as she tried to push him off of her. What a butthead! "Hey, don't chew up my ears, I neeeeed those!" Stupid brothers.

Where was everyone else? Was no one going to come...wait, no. She didn't need saving. She'd figure this out on her own, try to impress everyone who wasn't watching.

"No you don't!" he retorted with a laugh. "You just need eyes to be a Guard," R'vav teased. as he continued wrestling. He certainly didn't care who was or wasn't watching. They were kids right? As long as they didn't do anything too bad no one cared what they did where.

Except for their parents. They might have something to say...but neither of them were there. So he was free to wrestle and tickle and generally have fun at Hana's expense.

Hana was trying to gain her footing. Once she got it, she gave R'vav a bit shove, though her ear would probably get tugged along with the shove.

"I need them, cause I gotta hear!" Forget the fact that she didn't even hear her own brother pounce up on her. She had a lot to learn, and this little 'attack' was making her realize that.

"What if the god of strength decides I'm not good enough cause you had to ruin it, stinky!"

The boy released the offending ear as Hana shoved him, tumbling onto his back with a laugh. He sat up with a grin. "Well you weren't using them!" he retorted. "And I don't think the God of Strength has any say in who becomes a Guard," R'vav added with another smile, this one a bit more sincere.

He knew that Hana would make a good Guard...someday. But not now. Right now they were just two young lions who didn't really have any responsibilities!

The boy leaned over and poked her in the stomach.

Hana was feeling a bit worried. Irritated, but worried. Was that really true? Would she somehow offend him and be useless? No! There had to be another god she would try to impress...but who? Stealth? Speed? Battle? Whoooo?!

Well, she was stillw rapped up in her worried that she didn't realize her brother had bugged her again until she felt the poke. She squeaked, and upon looking at her brother, cubbishly growled at him. "You're baiting me!"

Well, she wouldn't give him much of a change to reply to that, because she attempted to pounce on him this time!

"Well, duh!" Hadn't he made it obvious enough? R'vav was just in a mood to play! So he let her pounce him and proceeded to roll around, clutching at her and trying to tickle himself free.

Not that he really cared who won or anything else. They were just kids! And life was about having fun! Or at least today was. R'vav was not one to really consider the future.

Hana could certainly learn something from her brother, but she was too young to really realize what it was. Maybe in the future! But for now, she was intent on getting her revenge. R'vav would certainly know what it felt like to have his ear chewed on, and maybe then some!

Training could wait 'til later. She'd be the best guard ever, but right now she was going to hone her awesome, amazing, perfect pouncing and gnawing skills.
