Perhaps his friend hadn't been paying attention during the start of the fight, but Bousvor had. With Aesir's loss, he owed the other lion a nice rabbit pelt. It was a couple days after the fight before he could find the time to go looking. As it turned out hunting rabbits was a bit harder than he'd thought. He spent the better part of an afternoon hunting rabbits. Bousvor figured he could kill two birds with one stone. Soft pelts for thralls and whoever wanted them, and meat. One pelt would be saved out for Yu of course.
He had stalked down three rabbits before he caught one where he was satisfied with the pelt. This would do. He carried the catch back, giving the extras to the thralls to take care of. The tawny male skinned the rabbit he'd selected and prepped its hide. Taking a break he munched on the meat that had once belonged to it. Now he waited.
Several mornings later, Bousvor had stretched himself out in front of his den. He was dozing in the morning sun, and enjoying some time off.

Indeed, Yu had NOT forgotten. The dark Reaver was simply waiting for the opportune moment to go bother Bousvor about that rabbit pelt. He was somewhat bothered by their new Warlord's leadership choices, but it wasn't a HUGELY bothered. Really, his only problem was with females not being permitted to be at least Reavers anymore. None would be bothered by the black lion.
After a few days, he decided he'd waited just long enough and went to collect the bounty of his bet. Instead... He found the tawny lion sleeping, all stretched out. He contemplated just how to wake him up, before walking off. A short time later, he returned with the tied-off stomach of a prey beast, filled with water. Yu sat down, carefully taking the stomach in his paws and, in a quick motion, both let go of the open end and tilted it over onto Bousvor, a big grin on his face. No matter how big and strong a Reaver was and looked, somewhere under that fierce exterior was a cub wanting to play games.

Bousvor came up sputtering as water drenched his coat. Sitting upright, his mane draggled, dripping down his face. He peered up at the darker lion with a deep sigh. "Must you?" It really had been a good trick. Bousvor gave an entergentic shake of his head to send water spraying. He peeked up to see if any had managed to reach Yu.
"You needed a shower." He gave a slight grin in response to the huge one on Yu's face. "Come to collect?" Bousvor gave a long stretch, and yawn. He decided he was going to take his time fetching the rabbit pelt.

The black-furred male gave the other a glare, before shaking the water off and dropping the emptied stomach. "You needed a bath far more than I needed a shower, Bousvor. And yes, I've come to collect." His face lit up with a grin. "The old Warlord lost, and we have a new one, so you owe me a rabbit pelt." He brushed his mane out of his face, using his claws to comb it back. "Other than that, is anything new with you?" Yu didn't really talk too much with the other Reavers - Bousvor was the only one he'd really call a friend. The only other Reaver he felt any connection to was, as Susu claimed, a distant cousin of his. He wasn't sure how, though, what with that rather distinctive PINK. Closer related to that Thrall he'd caught, he figured...

"Challengers don't seem to mind," the tawny male rumbled with a half smile. He gave a long stretch, then a yawn. Bousvor slowly scratched his ear with his eyes half closed thoughtfully. If they hadn't had a new warlord, it would have been him who was collecting. At the mention of the payment the male looked up with one ear flicked forward.
"Just a rabbit pelt? Oh dear me." He shook his head as if trageady had struck, playing Yu along as long as he could. "I fear the pelt I have is much too good to be counted as just a rabbit pelt. The texture of the fur is very fine, the hide is as soft and supple as a newborns." He sighed dramatically. "Now I must go back out and fetch just a pelt." Bousvor glanced slyly at the other male as he tried to keep his face straight.
The tawny male shook his head again. "Usual challengers." Then he considered. "One did manage to beat me." That was unusual enough. Most ones he put down fairly well.

The black lion gave a snort. "I never did specify what kind of rabbit pelt, did I?" His own fault, he supposed. He followed behind Bousvor, watching him intently. "It must have been an exceptionally good challenger to beat you, you don't normally lose. Clearly they have no flowers in their blood and it's as rich in iron as yours and mine." He was rightly impressed, really. Indeed, Yu couldn't recall anybody losing to Bousvor before. He'd have to find and meet this lion that defeated him, and find out if it was an easy win or a hard win.

Bousvor gave a deep rumbling chuckle. "No fear my friend. I am feeling much too lazy to go back out and chase down fast rabbits." He reached into his den with a foreleg. A moment of questing and he found the pelt he'd left by the entrance for when Yu did decide to show up. He laid the bet at the other male's feet.
"It'll do?" He flicked an ear and sat back down. It was a fine thick pelt of medium brown. Bousvor nodded contentedly. "Worthy is worthy. No one may always win. Should I, then I'd get a bad rep as a Askorun reaver." What challenger would logically challenge a lion that never lost? No new blood would ever join the pride from him.

He examined the rabbit pelt, nodding. "That is actually a VERY good looking pelt!" He scooped it up, sitting to rub it between his paws. It was absolutely perfect in his own opinion. "Thank you, Bousvor, I think I need to make bets with you more often!" A naughty gleam was in his eye.
"If you won all the time, you may as well challenge our leader next year to be warlord!" He chuckled, tucking the pelt into his mane for later use. "If the new-comer is smart, though, he'll challenge a different lion next time." He tilted his head, thoughtful for a moment. "Which, speaking of new blood from lions..." Yu grinned, mischief glimmering in his eyes. "Any of the lionesses catching your eye, Bousvor?"

Bousvor raised his head just slightly in pride. He wouldn't have given anything but the best. Still to know his efforts were appreciated was a good reward. The male noted the gleam and twitched his tail. Perhaps he would be more careful about which bets he took with Yu in the future.
He snorted with amusement. That action would just be folly. He had no desire to rule the pride. "That would be then when my streak would end." And he would either be dead or banished from the pride. Neither of which he wanted. The direction of the conversation changed and he arched a brow at Yu.
"Oh? Finally looking to settle and start a family." Bousvor licked his muzzle mocking Yu. "Well I can point you lonely male toward some lovely females who've just joined." He didn't comment on whether he was interested in any one or not.

The black lion gave an amused snort. "Me, settle down? Why would I do that?" His mother's voice manifested in the back of his mind, telling him to be very unlike his father, his half-uncle, his maternal grandfather... They never DID find out if Ezeoha had ever settled down with one lioness... He stretched, claws sliding out as he did so, the fur along his back prickling as a pleasant tingle ran along his spine from the stretch. "I'll certainly help sire and raise a few litters.. But I don't think I could settle with just ONE lioness..." He stood up, mischief in his eyes as he grinned. "Call it the 'roving gene' from a lot of males in my family..." He then poked his friend's shoulder. "Now come on, what about you?"

He rolled his eyes, half mocking. "And when you have a hoard of females chasing your tail down, I shall be laughing." Bousvor echoed Yu's stretch a moment later and gave a quiet, contented sigh. He was content with his life without worrying about raging females coming after him.
"Ah I'm sure you will." While he doubted his friend would be able to stick with one lioness, he wasn't about to say it. That was Yu's business and not his. Hopefully he'd be smart and find females who didn't mind sharing. Bousvor eyed the male as he got prodded. "I haven't decided yet." With that he stood, "it's time for me to go for Askoruns. See you around Yu."

magnadearel I do declare this to be done! After much delay on both ends... Mostly mine... xd ;; The black lion could only laugh, waving a paw. "Oh, I'll find girls OUTSIDE the pride so they CAN'T come chasing me back!" He figured he'd only tap ONE tail within the pride... That way, he only had to go through helping with a littler ONCE, if she wanted help.
He gave another wave of his paw. "Go! You have plenty of iron in YOUR blood, there's no doubting that! But here's hoping your opponent or opponents have iron and not FLOWERS!"
