The whole pride was abuzz, and Txumpay could almost feel the ground humming with it. There was so much energy, he swore he could reach out a paw and touch it. The blue and gray lion jumped over a root as he passed through the forest, soon reaching where others were beginning to gather.
He found his uncle, Pietr, already there, as well as one of his brothers, Awapo'Txor. A Priestess, too, was there, and an Artisan. He felt the connection to all of them as he got closer, knowing all their faces, all their names... Even as a Warrior, he felt the need to know them all, to know intimately who he was defending, who he was fighting beside. It made him feel... One with the people.
The gray-maned male approached his brother, stopping beside him. "What's going on? The whole forest is buzzing with words, so many words! I think I heard someone say something about the king going on a trip and going missing, or something to that effect..." His gaze traveled to their uncle, almost wondering if he knew something.

I am a newbie
A baboon, Amadi, jumped from tree to tree over head the lions. He lived in a different area of the forest, but he enjoyed making occasional visits to this part of the forest due to the rich variety of food that was available in the area. He would visit more often, but if was usually too peaceful for his liking.Today he decided to visit, and he was very, very glad he did. He was enjoying the dense, rich and gracious forest, but he was enjoying the . Amadi was a very miscievious and enjoyed watching the havoc unfold below him.
Amadi slowly grew bored, for he had a very short attention span. After a few more moments of boredom he slowly began to lower himself. He went lower, and lower until he wasn't much higher then the lions's heads. He attempted to hide himself some, but didn't put too much effort into it, since he was already busy listening in.

Mokri had come immediately upon the summons. Such a thing was not usual, and this meant something big was up. Something like that was exactly what Mokri hoped to set into song, to record it in the form of verse and rhyme. Though the bright-natured male hoped that it was something joyous, the general tense and anxious feeling that pervaded the meeting place indicated it wasn't so. Mokri found a spot to sit where he could see and hear clearly, though his forepaws kept shifting as he rocked his weight back and forth. He glanced around at the worried, fearful, and puzzled looks on other's faces. Perhaps the king himself would finally appear, to explain the situation. All the purple male could do was sit back and wait to hear the news, while trying to absorb the scene to set to song later.
Hwena was nervous, easily influenced by the general unease that was being displayed by other pride members. She wasn't showing much of that nervousness herself, as it wasn't her way, but that didn't negate how she was feeling inside. She moved to a spot along the edge of the crowd, well back but within easy hearing distance. She settled against the comforting bark at her side, yellow eyes wide and guileless. Her ears twitched once in a while, taking in the murmurs and whispers that seemed to drift like fog amongst them. It was all very unsettling, and she had not yet made up her mind how to handle it. This was why she said nothing, met noone's eyes, and merely was present, waiting like all the others for something to happen.
Kal entered the meeting glade and immediately began to look for Ke'aw. At this point it was no secret that the two of them were great friends, though their specific relationship was indeed secret. Still, he always found himself searching for her in large groups, always hoping to see her pretty face. Somehow today's unease wasn't able to steal that hopeful excitement from him, though it did mute his enthusiasm a bit. After all, he wouldn't be able to do anything about whatever the problem was until they all were told the problem itself. That being understood, he slowly paced through the gathering lions, still hoping to find his dear friend, fully intending on sitting beside her to hear the news.

Silron could hear the crowd starting to gather and knew it was time to act. He gave Kerusey a gentle shove, his eyes stern and yet... they had something else glistening in his blue orbs. This was his Uncle; someone he had looked up to and regardless of what happened; his father was now in a state he may never wake from. Their had been a fight, he had witnessed some of it and the end result was still the same. His Uncle and attacked his father; he had no doubt... but why. He knew Kerusey did not accept the strange blood being brought into their home and was especially not accepting of the Escort; their new king.
He began to escort his Uncle, someone he loved greatly, out of the area he had been holed up in and towards the gathering crowd. As he walked, he seemed sullen and as if he had something he wanted to say... but he wasn't sure if he should say it now... or would he even have a chance to say it later? Probably not. As he followed behind his Uncle, he kept his voice low enough so that only he and himself could hear.
"Uncle.. no matter what. I will always love you dearly..." He said simply, not really wanting to hear an answer. It was true however. Even though his heart seethed with rage; he still had such a love and adoration for his older mentor; his family member and his blood line... "..but I will never forgive you."
Eywa had been sitting and observing Kerusey with a stern yet sad look. It caused her great pain that her people had to go through something like this... to lose one influential member and they may even lose their leader. She felt sadness for Zelt'sin; whom had given birth not long before all this and was now having to worry about her children and her mate at the same time. When Silron gave Kerusey the signal to approach the crowd; she followed quietly, with her wings tucked in on her sides. She was in her goddess form, the only appearance her pride knew.
She observed Silron speaking to his Uncle but ignored it and focused her attention on the task ahead. They hadn't ever had to do this sort of thing before... how would everyone take it? She sighed as they neared the pride. It was all up to the leaders... the poor youngsters who seemed as though it was to soon for them to be stepping up and taking their places at the front of the pride. It wasn't supposed to be like this.
As they came upon the crowd, the talk quieted into whispers.

Pietr could hear everyone talking at once and separated at the same time. It made his nerves ache. He felt a hollowness in his chest as well. He had wanted this moment to happen with happiness and with joy in the hearts of everyone; and soon it would only be sorrow and sadness. Everyone loved Eytucan. A lot of lions looked up to Kerusey. Though he felt different than their ruler, many had felt Kerusey was a member and a friend; a family member even. Pietr hadn't ever had a connection with him; as he knew that a lot of the dark purple lion's hatred was aimed at him. The fact he was born outside the pride...
He watched them approach and felt everyones words slipping into a quiet dull. He knew not a lot of lions would expect what was going to be shown to them. He tossed a glance at those around him. Quiet Jubes; a foreign blood just like him. Pale Ftxoa. His nephews Awapo and Txumpay. His mate Ney'ite. The dark male Kal. Hwena, with her startling white markings. Mokri and his pale eyes... would any of them have sensed this coming. He wished he could be in front of all his family, to tell them that their queen had a successful birth and that everyone was fine. Luckily, the cubs were fine and so was the queen. He contemplated speaking of that before anything.
He spotted their patron goddess and felt some relief. She would help bring people to order and calmness.
He had told Silron to bring Kerusey up to the front; beside he and his mate.
Jube's glanced around at those joining the crowd. She felt oddly at sorts and tried to keep herself calm. She hadn't had any strange feelings or visions like she had before things happened... though she had them rarely. She felt intensely nervous at the idea that something happened to the queens babies. She began to feel a bit hysterical. Then, the crowd quieted a bit and she turned her attention in the direction everyone was looking... and felt a strange sensation crawl up her spine. What was Kerusey doing not among everyone else? And Ewya was with them. And so was Silron... She looked to the pair of brothers beside her and then back to the three approaching.
She could see confused looks on everyones faces and even on her own. What was going on?
She stood up a bit on her hind legs to get a better look...
Awapo startled when his brother came and nuzzled him. He hadn't even been paying attention at all and had not seen his approach. When Txumpay spoke, Awapo shook his head. "I have no idea... I think something to do with the queen... she had her children just the other night... I wonder if they are missing or hurt... or if they died. Wouldn't that be horrible... everyone was anticipating the litter so much... I don't think I could take to hear something happened to them..." He said, settling closer to his gray brother and feeling comforted at the closeness. He felt a shiver crawl across his body and he trembled.
"Eytucan and Zelt aren't here... something must have happened to the babies... Oh... oh I hope not..." He said, looking at the consort and future queen at the front; looking somber.
When the talking dropped in loudness, his yellow eyes looked around quickly. "Oh oh... somethings happening...' He said, noticing where Jube's was looking and threw his blue maned head that way... and saw those approaching... "...wha'?" He gave his brother a soft shove. "Look... look it's Eywa. And Kerusey... What's going on... Where is the king and queen?"
Ftxoa blinked around quietly for a moment, seeing her mother fidgeting and squirming and stood up from the back and moved until she was beside her. She sat, putting a paw around her mother just as she seemed to crane and look worried. She looked the direction her mother was straining in.
She blinked her pale eyes and felt her mother tremble. She brought her closer. "Mother... please don't fret."
Jube's leaned into her daughters embrace and shook again. Something must have happened... "Ftxoa..." was all she could say.

Gentle or not, Kerusey snarled at the shove, lips pulling back to reveal threatening fangs. An empty threat...but oh, how he wished he were in a position to make it more than that. Unfortunately, such a thing would have been tantamount to a death wish, or worse--being manhandled into humiliating submission before the gathered pride. His plans might have been ruined, and he might be a prisoner, but he still had his pride, his dignity. So he began walking with head high and eyes level, looking for all the world like Silron'zem and Eywa (how it burned to know she had been corrupted) were his attendants rather than his jailers. But when his nephew spoke, his composure cracked.
"You believe I care what you think of me, whelp?" he hissed, eyes flaring with anger as he whirled to face Silron'zem. A tremble ran over his body. "You are a fool."
Expression stony, he turned back to continue on. Forgiveness. Bah! He had done this pride a favor, or would have if he hadn't been interrupted. There was naked hatred in his gaze for all of the rogue-born and rogue-blooded present, but Pietr was the one that the weight of his regard settled on. Rogue blood in the royal line...disgusting. His claws extended almost of their own volition, digging into the earth.
Would that they could rend the filth infesting this pride instead.
