So I'm stage managing some dance shows over the next week.
3 shows, 10-11 individual pieces each.

At best I've seen them 3 times. Some I've only seen twice.
... I need to go type up my notes so I don't screw it up.

One piece originally had a girl cutting a chair in half with a chainsaw (yeaaahh... contemporary dance is a bit bizarre), while audience members sat on couches on stage and were served tea. For a whole lot of safety concerns (gas engine in an enclosed space, risk of dismemberment, etc) she had to give up on the chainsaw idea.
So now she invites the audience up onto the couches, serves them tea, and then a girl jumps behind a couch, puts on a weird halloween mask, and takes off her dress, and dances nearly naked (thong and black tape over her nipples) with the creepy mask on it for about 3 minutes, while tea is still being served & small talk is being made.

That is admittedly the weirdest piece. But there are some other odd ones, and a whole lot I don't get whatsoever.

Tickets are cheap. Something like $8 student, $10 adult, for 10 pieces.

I'm more baffled that they go to university to learn to roll around on the floor and wiggle their hands. There's no formal training going on like ballet or whatever...
