You see, we have 5 cats in our house. Three are my family's and two are mine, which are younger. At night, my mom doesn't like it that my cats are out and about, so she likes to keep them cooped up and seperated from the other cats, which I already disagree with, but agree too, since my family has to get up early for work.
However, it is Friday, and my family can sleep in, so I tend to let my cats roam around a bit more, since I think it's cruel to keep animals in a small area, especially when they're young and energetic.
So my mom comes down stairs and starts screamin' at me because my cats aren't in my room. She then grabs the new cat toy that I got for my cats for christmas, which is a long plastic rod with feathers on the end, and she starts chasin' and screamin' at me cat and whippin' her with the toy.
Now, my one cat Lucie is a very small and very sensitive cat. She startles easily, and my mom is chasin' her, screamin' at her, and hurtin' her for no good reason. She even admitted to purposely terrorizin' my cat.
So yeah, I just about lost it. You do NOT ******** with my cats. Especially when they don't deserve it. So I snatched the toy out of my mom's hand and hit her with it and threatened to punch her if she didn't go away and stop. I then got Lucie, took her to my room, and gave both my cats some treats and pet them and soothed them.
Humans attackin' and abusin' other humans is one thing (though still wrong), but when you mess with cats and other creatures that don't deserve it, then I have a BIG ISSUE WITH IT.
Anyway, that's my rant. I'm still incredibly pissed that my mom would have the nerves to do that to my cats.

I'd be upset if someone did that with my dogs too. Thankfully my family doesn't have any problems with them as long as they stay outside in the back. Even If I did have them inside for a while, that wouldn't happen. You're mother is your mother though, you should let her know how you feel.

I have tried to explain, over and over again, and calmly, about how I feel, and it just doesn't work. In my family's house, the only want to communicate is by yellin', and that never works. xp Haha, only time me and my brother yell is not even to yell at each other, its just to be loud and obnoxious. I hope you two can reach a consensus. I hope something works out.

He would think you are just playing rough with him...well I guess it all depends on how hard you hit him...I tap his paws with a toy and he likes to bite and chew on the handle of all the cat toys... He would also get even with who ever did it to him...
