Yup, talking about explicit furry reading material, books, comics, etc. etc.
The guild was or is the "Adult furry" guild so I figured the question isn't inappropriate. This thread itself isn't for posting any doujins or sites to them but instead to talk about them.
Do you read them? Have a favorite author/illustrator?

And just so you know, this isn't about where you stand on "pornographic material" or "smut" as some would call it, it's something of a romance just like any other romantic novel, comic or movie.
If you look at it in any other way, that's your business.

Also, if a mod finds this topic inappropriate, feel free to take it down.
If anyone does post a site without fair warning, delete their post, please?

When I started out writing furry fiction I decided that I wasn't going to write sex scenes, as the fandom is already full of that sort of thing. However, having submitted a story for a compilation, the editor implied that my chances of getting in would be improved by inclusion of a sex scene, so I added one.

Since then I've amended my policy somewhat, although I still prefer to omit graphic sex scenes unless writing specifically erotic stories.

So you're an author yourself?
I'd like to read some of your work if you don't mind.

A personal favorite of mine is Jay Naylor, his art's good and the stories are interesting, mostly doujins though.

Certainly. http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/dwale/

Keep in mind that most of these are rough drafts.

I understand the rough drafts, I'm working on a book myself still in rough draft phase.
I scrapped an original idea I had that was somewhat based off of my furry nature.
It was about an earth that had been effected by a spacial occurrence turning all animals into a form of spiritual energy that would seek out a host, essentially changing them into a furry, not called that though. The story would have taken place with a man who woke up on a riverbed with no memory and skin that appeared mostly human but having reptilian eyes. It goes on and on and eventually reveals that he was king of the land before a more beast-like attempted to overthrow him for beast-type rights.
The conflict in the story occurs over the fact that when the "spiritual animal-energies" sought their hosts, if the animal matched the personality and traits of it's host, they'd take on a more beast-like appearance based on the animal.
If they had less in common, they'd remain more human-like but would still gain secondary traits of the animal.
This created a prejudice within my story and made for good plot, though I scrapped the idea for one that I thought might have more fans.

i've read a few on FA, but as a whole, i'm not that big a fan of the genre... nothing wrong with it, and i read plenty of yaoi and slash fics, but idk... there's just something about fur-fics that just doesn't jive in my mind... the genre is pleasent enough, just not for me -shrugs-

Understandable.
Though if you ever find a doujin online by Jay Naylor called "No Remorse", I'd suggest checking it out.
It is explicit, for adults only but it's a good read.

SoFurry is a lot more story oriented than say, FurAffinity.
There are some decent writers from what I've seen, though I don't read a lot of furry stories or fanfiction.

My all time favorite furry artist is Wolfy-Nail. He has a few comic style series, but none that really go into a whole lot of detail story-wise. Mostly just wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am.

I got it, I've read up to the 3rd part so far and I really like it.
Even I feel somewhat seduced by your main character in Scarheart.
I'm still reading it, couldn't finish it yesterday due to things that came up but I'll try to finish it tonight and let you know what I think in all.

I don't know about comics, but Kyell Gold is my favorite anthro author. His stories always have great characterization-- and, of course, steamy sex scenes. wink
