Annette's giggle rang through the old forest, dense with trees. The sound was much more innocent that was to be expected from a batkin of her like. The barrel of toxic waste atop her shoulder was more than enough proof of that. She was having far too much fun with the "accidental" spills she left for others to find. The sun's fading light was more than enough for her to see by. The well-worn trail was often used and easy to navigate in the dark. The large lake that was her destination was said to have a mysterious beast within, something she was more than willing to have a bit of fun poisoning 'for the good of the people."
Annette snickered. She still couldn't believe the faes had believed her when she exclaimed she would rid them of the beast. They had been so overwhelmed with gratitude they had been almost ecstatic to give her plenty of supplies to last her 'until the job was done.' They would get a rude awakening when they dared to venture to the lake, finding no monster, but instead a lake full of toxic waste that was unsafe for all.
