An overly-chatty witch, a crazy baku, a really messed-up battle with a reaper, and he STILL found himself coming back here. He really didn't know when to call it quits. Maybe... just maybe, coming here would help him find the answers he seeked, but, really... maybe he just needed a break from it all.

Wilson now in a coma, Jake was at a loss of what to do. He could only do so much to occupy himself on the island. Missions reports, tasks, errands, pod duty, ANYTHING to get his mind off that damn battle, but yet, time and time again he found his mind wandering back to it, how the battle had turned into something more, and how the hunter had saved him.

Why... WHY? He just didn't know. Something brushed against him, and he shivered. Was there someone... no. He was alone this time, he was pretty sure. He didn't want to deal with another fiasco like last time. From now on, he was running HH missions solo.

He continued wandering through each room, rubbing his arm to ward off the cold as the runes on his weapon emitted a dull glow through the foggy area.

Status Effect
Rolling a 3: ALL DAMAGE HAS NO MODIFIER (ie: you don't need to subtract -6 ). You feel something brush against you, unsettling as it literally envelops you in a blanket of cold. You feel stronger but more distant, as if the battle around you is happening to someone else...

Alexander would have likely been happy to never enter the Haunted House ever again in his unlife, but horsemen duty called. When he had showed up to be assigned his task for the day, it had of course been the Haunted House that he got sent to. Of course. The last place in the world he ever wanted to be. It made perfect sense.

The instructions he was given was simple. Wait for a hunter. Collect Fear as necessary. Sigh. He had done this many times before, but usually on his own without been given the task as an initiate before. And that had been a much darker time for the boil, a time when he didn't care about anything but exacting revenge on the hunters for what they had done, to him, to Yin, to all of the others that they had taken, to the defenders.....

He still wanted that revenge, sure, but he was going to be a little more sensible about it now then he was before. After all, last time he had lost an eye, had ended up with an arrow through his throat, had gotten so hoped up on Fear that his distortion crystal became overcharged and had changed him, and had had his head beaten to nothing more then a mushy pulp before dissipating and ending up at the Nurse's office.

Yes, taking a more careful approach really seemed to be the best thing to do, this time around.

So he shuffled around the good ol' double H, patrolling the hallways like the diligent little horseman initiate soldier that he was. At some point, in some area, the temperature almost seemed to drop as an uneasy feeling came over him. Had something just touched the back of his neck? He whirled around to see but came face to face with nothing at all.

Hrm..that had been...odd. The fog swirled around his feet but he tried not to pay attention to it, turning back around, only to catch a glimpse of something..glowing? It was hard to see, so he narrowed his eyes, and took a a few more shuffling steps forward, until the fog began to lift and he was able to see what was causing the effect.

A weapon, which of course had a hunter attached to it. Perfect.

He felt a cold smile curl his lips upward, a baring of teeth still stained with the blood of his last meal.

"Hello there, hunter. You new? I don't think I've had the pleasure of sinking my teeth into you yet."

Because he was totally keeping track of how many he had. Totally.

He passed through a few more rooms, pausing as he heard... footsteps?

He spun around, and came face to face with... a zombie.
Not the same one from that time though, but a different one. He still hated zombies though. In fact, he hated all Halloween students. Damn supernatural creatures thinking they were right about everything, abusing their power, saying how they were all innocent and that THEY were the ones suffering...

They all deserved to die.

The zombie got no response as Jake only glared at him, hand tightening on the runic tonfas.

Well at least this one wasn't going to bore him with chatter, scream at him, tell him how badly he needed to shower, or leap to attack him without warning. No, all this one did was stand there and glare at him, giving him no verbal response at all.

Perfect. He hated conversing with hunter's anyways. They were always trying to tell him how they were the wronged ones, whining about the denizens of Halloween and Horsemen that killed humans. But they had made him what he was today, by kidnapping his bonded, by putting their filthy human technology inside of him and ruining his life, possibly whatever life they might have with each other in the future as well. It was unacceptable, and in his opinion, every hunter could die and rot in hell for all eternity, and it wouldn't be punishment enough.

He could feel the telltale rage and burning need for revenge seething inside of him the longer he looked at that stupid human form in it's white coat, wielding a weapon it should not have even possessed, something that was once a part of Halloween itself. Without further ado, he lunged forward, fingers curled into claws as he swiped out with one hand, and then through a fist at the hunter with the other, feeling an odd strength and a strange sort of detachment from his own body as he did so.

Alex didn't need to worry too much about chatter, considering Jake had about a lifetime's worth of that and more with Belladonna. Holy crap, he had never met someone who had TALKED SO FREAKING MUCH, though he had a feeling most of it was just to unnerve him, which he hated to say, had sorta did. Her excessive prodding about... pretty much everything about him, his weapon, Chester... he had almost started to wonder who was interrogating who at that point.

To be honest, Jake was sort of used to the smell at this point. The smell of death, rotting, decay... both his past and current life. He would never be free from it, doomed to fight until the bitter end, fight to survive, fight for the right to live. An endless cycle, repeating over and over. He would never be free from it.

His eyes widened slightly as the zombie attacked, arms raised up instinctively as the creature's claws raked on his FEAR shield, making a horrid screeching sound, and grunted as the fist connected with his stomach, sending him reeling.

Hell, he wasn't going to let this creature show him up.
Gripping the tonfas, he took a step forward, slashing at the zombie.

The blades tore into him before he had a chance to really move away, one of the setbacks to only being able to fight at close range. It shredded his shirt and bit into his Fear, slicing against undead flesh that easily managed to withstand the blow, for now at least. Stitches were left exposed across his torso, however. Remnants of battles with hunters long past. From the Horsemen Isles, to the Haunted House. Rotten flesh torn through with various weaponry, but pieced and stitched back together with time and precision, each thread that pulled at his skin a reminder that these humans with their white coats were to never be trusted.

Like he even really needed the reminder anymore.

He stumbled back with a growled curse, one eye so pale it was almost white and the other a vibrant red glaring at the hunter through the fringe of hair that had fallen in front of them both. But now was not the time to back down, especially not when he felt as though he had some kind of extra power coursing through him.

He lunged forward once more, attempting to dodge around those vicious blades as he lashed out with fists in a flurry of movement that his boilfriend would have been proud of, attempting to drive the hunter back. He felt the Fear that began to gather in the crystal that was tucked away in his skull pin, tacked on to the knot on his tie, the empty eye sockets began to glow with the faintest glimmerings of red.

Jake eyed the zombie carefully, something telling him that he shouldn't let his guard that around this one. Not that... he should ever let his guard down against ANY of these things.

He gave a satisfied smirk as the blade connected with flesh, knowing, hoping, that it caused the creature pain. Disgusting abominations. They should never exist. The world was already messed up as is, there was no need to add the mystical and supernatural to it also. Vampires, werewolves, zombies... they were supposed to be make-believe creations, just a figment, used to scare witless individuals who needed a thrill in life. They had no need to be real, nor any human have to know they were real. This was their job as a hunter. To get rid of them all. One less thing for this broken world to deal with. One less thing to cause them harm.

Strike, strike back. Don't give in.
The tonfas were raised as he pulled back, knowing that the zombie wouldn't take that attack without retaliating. Though, he hadn't expected such a strong blow, and staggered back from the impact.

His FEAR shield whined and creaked, and he knew it would only last another hit or two, but he wasn't giving in yet.
Tonfas raised, he grit his teeth and aimed at one of the stitched sections on the zombie.
