He hadn't gotten to meet very lions here other than Zii'moto and he had been spending a lot of time with the friendly lioness with a sad past. She was more than happy to fill him in on the ways of their people and their past and what was happening. That and... she seemed to need someone like he did. He wasn't sure what to think about it; other than he was gonna have to do some more soul searching and get to know more folk..
He was aware that word was out among the others; that one of the regents daughters was spending a lot of time with the new stranger; whom many didn't know his name. He had heard 'thorn pelt' a few times, referring to his markings.
He padded along slowly, among the other soldiers whom he knew nothing about.

Safi'lipuka was slightly out of breath as she walked, having been training rather early to build up her strength. She was new to the soldier way of life, having originally followed her father into the guard way of life, and only recently having switch to help her mother.
She ached, but it was ok. She needed to do this, she had to protect her family and her pride.
Born into the pride, Safi prided herself of knowing most of the pride members, so catching sight of an unfamiliar male walking through the pride, she paused, and peered at him. He looked...somewhat familiar, but she couldn't place 'why' she might have seen him before.
Well, she did hate not knowing. She strode towards him briskly, but her voice was polite when she called out a greeting.
"Greetings."

Uxe knew no one... he knew only Zii so far and he hoped getting to know others would be as easy. It seemed suddenly someone was speaking to him... greeting him and he lifted his red eyes to peer at the black lioness who spoke. He wasn't sure how lions greeted others here... and he nodded his head first... then... spoke...
"Er... greetings...' He said simply, not sure how to start a conversation or how to go about saying anything about these lions he knew little about. He sighed, wishing he had brought the white lioness with to help ease him into seeing others... she said she had a lot of relatives here... "I am Uxe." He said quickly, not sure what else... to really say... He felt really nervous and light headed. Was he too hot? He shrugged it off.

He looked a bit awkward, which was a bit amusing but Safi wasn't one to mock other's discomfort, so she offered him a small smile - one of the few smiles that she'd offer in a day. Not that she was mean, or anything, but Safi was just not one for being overly friendly towards people. She loved her family, and that was about it. She knew very few other people in the pride, and it suited her just fine - she wasn't lonely, considering the sheer amount of relatives that she had.
"Uxe," she repeated his name. "I am Safi'lipuka, but Safi is fine. Are you new to our pridelands, Uxe?" She asked, but was still looking him over, trying to figure out where she had seen him before...

Uxe really took in this females look and observed her. She was strong, though something gave away that her strengths were else where at the moment. He rather liked her dark pelt, he had so far only really gotten to observe Zii's white fur. He felt as though he was a bit more acceptable here with his dark pelt, dark mane and dark eyes. "Safi..." He said her name, he didn't want to attempt the full version. He wasn't good with really long names. He was glad his parents named him something so short; since his mothers name was Kikawaida and his father's was Umo... he could have been named something horridly long.
He blinked his red eyes. "...yes... only a few days I've been here..." He said quietly, his voice had a bit of a rasp to it. "the uh... lioness Zii'moto has been showing me around..."

She nodded, slightly more sympathetic to the new member, as she couldn't imagine what it would be like to journey into a pride of unfamiliar faces...It was very strange to think about but she supposed, these lands were very harsh, and he wouldn't have made the decision to join lightly. It was his choice to come here after all.
Her eyes widened slightly. That's where she knew him! The rumours of one of the Regents daughter's associating with a new member - it wasn't uncommon but the rumour mill did love such things, especially since everything else was aflame with information, considering the war and such.
"You are lucky to have Zii'moto show you around," she said calmly. "My great aunt is a great asset to have in your corner in these times of uncertainty." She didn't really spend much time with Zii'moto but she knew of her. Everyone knew the regents offspring.

He noted her widened eyes for a moment and then couldn't help but smile a small little smile on his dark muzzle. Seemed everyone knew of the pale Zii. He chuckled even, as he had heard many speaking of them... not sure why... it may have something to do with her divorce from her mate or that she was seeming so happy lately. "She is a very nice female. She is the first to speak to me and I am grateful."
He smiled. "Great aunt..." He said with a chuckle. The pale one seemed to be close to his own age. This further improved his suspicions and his... well... never mind.
"She is kind... I appreciate her words... though being around that many cubs is overwelming... " He added

Safi nodded her head, imagining it would be a rather quick bond to form if it was the first person to welcome you into your new home. Still such a strange thought to the pride-born but she could imagine...sort of. She looked amused at his disbelief at the 'great aunt' comment. "My parents were young when they had myself and my brothers," she explained with a shrug, though she couldn't imagine Zii was 'young', her parents had been rather...unprepared for the litter that occurred.
She offered him laughed quietly at his comment of the cubs. "Not used to that many precocious little terrors?" She questioned. She didn't particularly like cubs...well, maybe one or two, but the amount that Zii would be looking after...that was a terrifying thought.

Uxe nodded thoughtfully. His own parents had been old when they had he and his siblings... and their deaths had rested their old bones now... He sighed, wishing he hadn't left when he had and that he had stayed a while longer, go have gotten past his hatred for nothing and everything like the angry youth he had been...
He also wished he hadn't have left that swamplands lioness on her own either...
He nodded. "This pride is doing well for such a drought that has been spoken of..." He cast a glance back towards the baby sitting area and swallowed. "Zii seems fit for the job however. Me... I prefer things that use my strength more than my will.." He grimaced. "... some of those cubs are so darn spoiled and hot headed; and their parents are worse..." He had seen some rather abrupt and rude lions so far... He figured that had something to do with that firey part Zii mentioned all the time; considering she was meek and quiet and sweet and lacked any red in her pelt.

Safi couldn't help the small smile - near on smirk - that crossed her face at the male's words. He was definitely an outsider, judging by his 'spoiled' comment, and she almost chuckled. "That's the way of life around here," she said calmly, with a small shrug. "If you're not being the best, what else is there to be?"
Some of the cubs had yet to learn that being good at what you do, did not entitle you to act as if the world revolved around you. The entire pride was made up of strong fighters and even better tacticians. It was hard not to have an ego, which could come across as being spoiled.
"You'll get used to it, eventually. There's plenty to do with strength around here though, so you should fit in well." Split Personality Sorry for the delay <3 We can finish this soon
