Crystals, stones, gems. These gifts from Mother Earth have been granted upon us and used throughout the centuries. They've been used as decoration, in rituals, for healing, for luck, for hope, for love, and for honouring the dead as well as everything in between. Crystals can be man-made or Mother-made. Either way these gifts have been used by witches and pagans (and others, if unknowingly) since they were first discovered.
These simple stones hold great expanses of power when used with a human's latent ability to allow them to enhance themselves in a subtle and natural way. They can indeed be used to heal, allow one to access their third eyes, and enhance creative ability. This section will talk about various crystals as well as their metaphysical and physical healing abilities and powers.

Quick Information:
-"Universal crystal" Has been the basic starter crystal for many beginners in stone magick.
-Quartz itself comes in a wide variety of colours that in turn changes what type of crystal it is and what powers it has. Such others are purple quartz (amethyst), pink quartz (rose quartz), yellow quartz (citrine), and many others. It has a broad category.
-Easily cleansed and programmed



Uses:
Metaphysical: -Amplifies, stores, focuses, and transmits energy
-Extremely beneficial for manifestation, healing, meditation, and channeling, and protection
-Used to clear away negative energy

-Quartz is reputed to be particularly effective for chronic fatigue, arthritis, bone injuries, depression, fibromyalgia, intestinal troubles.

Old History:
-The name "quartz" comes from the Greek derivative meaning ice because it was thought that quartz was ice formed by the gods.
- Crystal balls are usually made from these stones and have been used since the Middle Ages to predict the future.

Cleansing:
This stone can be cleansed with: Earth (burying it in the ground on a full moon or new moon and letting it stay there until that next moon. Or sea salt), Water (holy water, moving water -such as streams or oceans-, or some variation, rain -storms are good!-), Fire (wave stone quickly through candle flame -be careful of carbon marks because they're difficult to get off some stones!- or by placing them in direct sunlight or at dawn's light for a few hours -be forewarned that some crystals fade in direct sunlight!-), and Air (smudging with burning sage smoke)

~ Elixers ~

Elixers are a good basic way to attain something you need, for instence, your stressing out a lot or perhaps have a headache you'd like to releave, or you need some spiritual help. Whatever the need a stone can help with it in more ways than you think. Now to make an elixer, you will need the right time and the stone possessing the qualities you desire or need, just make sure it won't disolve. On the night of a full or dark moon, put the stone into a jar, cup, bowl (no plastic), and fill it with spring water. and let it soak for an hour under the moon (whether its full or dark). Once the hour is up, remove the stone, and consecrate or bless the water. Now, it's said that to help the water keep the magickal energies it absorbed to pour a few drops of whiskey or brandy to "Hold" the energies within the water. Keep the elixer hidden away from light, and drink by the teaspoon.
