Personality:
Ethylssa has always felt inferior. Being born into the von Brandt family put tremendous pressure upon her as there is a strong family pride and a constant demand of perfection. It didn't help when her older brother was a gifted child despite his laziness. At a young age, she had instilled in herself that hard work is necessary, desperately wanting to summon her weapon faster than her older brother had. While Ethylssa managed to summon it at the same age as he had, she was never satisfied.
Despite this, Ethlyssa does love her brother, but is constantly frustrated by his attitude. She can't understand how someone with so much talent doesn't make the effort to use it. He, in turn, can't understand why she can't relax and stop being a stick in the mud all the time. Ethlyssa is that sort of girl that takes rules very seriously and would never dream of breaking them or insulting a teacher. As goody-two-shoes as Ethlyssa might seem, however, she is not above helping her fellow classmates/friends if need be, because hey. She really wants to feel like being helpful, to validate her self worth. If her help is needed, it means that she's being useful, and that's a good thing, right?

Well, simply put, she's quite terrible at it. She's tried her hardest, but somehow, earth magic doesn't come to her as naturally as fire magic did. And so, she decided to sign up to Amityville Academy to better herself and to make her family proud.
