As of late, with the sufficating restrictions the boogiemen had placed upon her and her kin, Nergui was feeling restless. She'd taken to training, more so then she usually did, as well as partaking in an open class or two. Both beneficial, but she could say either was all that mentally challenging. Surely physical, but it wasn't just the body that craved stimuli.

A solution had been been needed, so the priestess had commissioned her cousin to craft her a chess set that could be folded up and carried about wherever she cared to take it. He'd just finished it, and Nergui was now sat beside a low burning fire with the inlaid board resting upon a tree stump, the pieces resting within the pool of skirts on her lap. She was examining them, one by one, to admire the lovely craftsmanship. Bastion was an amazing talent, she'd always known this, and owned a few trinkets he'd created for her, but the detail he'd put into the tiny gemstone figures was really remarkable.

Each was different, but one could still tell what role each piece played. There were prominent figures among them. -The heir and protector of Death, for one, as the black queen.- But there were also visions of those that were no longer with them. She herself had been the model, a bishop, black of course.

She smiled fondly as she placed each piece in turn upon the board, nudging them into place with the tip of a finger before moving onto the next. So many familiar faces, alive and dead. They, and the game itself, made her pine for the home they had lost, but she let no sorrow show on her face as she admired Bastion's handy work.
