The store was like a giant bat signal (or more like a 'cat' signal) for Marcus, and eventually it had pulled the redhead all the way over. He was hesitant at first, standing outside the automatic doors for several awkward seconds before he meandered his way in. The boy's eyes automatically darted about for anything cat related, and he waddled his way over once he noticed a large window showing a room with several cages inside. Marcus was a little nervous, but he wasn't sure why. He had always wanted a cat. It made sense for him to get one. He lived alone, he never spoke to anyone, and he didn't like humans. And, well, he adored cats.
Even with all of this, Marcus stood awkwardly outside of the glass, observing each cat quietly until his eyes landed on a grey one who sat restlessly in his cage. So he stood, shoving his hands deep into his pockets. He tried to be as unnoticeable as possible, peering in curiously as he put all his attention to the cats. He stood tall, nearing seven feet, but his shoulders were slouched and his posture was awful. His bright green eyes were also sharp and narrow, making him look all the more sketchy. He wore a sweater and a button up over jeans that tucked into black boots, all of his clothes seeming slightly small for him.

As Marcus peered out at the caged kittens, someone peeked out from over a wall. It was a brown haired man, a young looking one, and he looked incredibly nervous. Of course, he had every right to be; he was, after all, openly stalking the man of his dreams.
He wasn't even sure how this started out. Luthe had been walking home one day, eyes downcast as usual, when he bumped into someone. Just one apologetic look up at the man and he felt his heart flip, somersault and do other embarrassing things - he made sure to run away before the man could see. But those few seconds had changed his entire life. Every single second was filled with thoughts of that man, the look on his face, the sound of his voice, his very smell...! Luthe tried desperately to stop, but he couldn't stop thinking about the mystery man. It had gotten to the point where he had searched endlessly for him, just wanting to see him for just a second.
And here he is, having finally found the man of his dreams, and all he could do was stare at him from a distance.
Idiot! he scolded himself, causing himself to wince a fraction. Just... Just talk to him! He won't bite! ...Right? ....I, uh.... No, I should just stay here for a while and stare a little more... Marcus' eyes were stuck to the grey cat, his hands clenched nervously in his pockets as his eyes finally were taken off of the particular cat, and his gaze wandered over several others. And then there was a small movement near him, and he looked over softly, barely moving his head. His gaze was tired, bored, but as soon as he noticed who it was they widened a little. He looked away quickly, his eyes narrowing now as he looked back to the cats. At this point he didn't even care about the felines behind the glass, but instead was just trying to ignore the boy, if he was sure it was him. This ******** kid.
He tried to concentrate back onto the cats, but it was hopeless. As much as he wanted to bring one of these home and never have to talk to anyone ever again, he wanted to know why there was a guy staring over at him with all of that intensity. "Do you need something?" He finally shot over, his voice loud enough for a couple cashiers to glance over. Ugh. How bothersome.

Seeing him glance over at him was enough to give him cardiac arrest. Luthe caught his breath, feeling as though he were caught, and he was. He felt all the blood leave his face and anxiety replace it; the only relief he had was him keeping his ears flat and hidden in his brown hair and his tail tucked into his pants. But that wasn't the point. What was the point was that the man he had been thinking of non-stop had seen him stalk him! Oh the thoughts that must be running in his head... He must think Luthe's a freak, a weirdo, a creep! Ugh... he probably is....
Just knowing that he was caught was enough to make Luthe want to crawl into a hole. Hearing his dream man's booming voice, he yelped inwardly - and outwardly - and cringed. Crap, crap, crap, that voice was directed at him! Knowing that there was no use in hiding anymore, Luthe stepped out of his hiding spot and hesitantly walked towards Marcus and the cage of cats. Maybe... Maybe he could cover up for his shameful act?
"U-Uh... I was just here to..... to look at the cats! Yeah! L-Look at the cats!" he said in a tone with a higher pitch than usual - which was saying something. Smiling nervously, Luthe looked over at the cages and made eye contact with a calico kitten. Biting his lip, he looked over and saw a few other kittens stare up at him expectantly. Marcus wasn't paying enough attention at first to see the boy's apprehensiveness. He looked away and instead glared at the cats, irritation clouding above his head. Man. It wasn't like this boy had been stalking him...(was he?) But there were two times he had actually had interaction with him, both of them Marcus not being able to stand the way the kid trembled and stayed away. If he had something to ask, he should come out and say it. It was almost a little frightening, like he had something on his face and the guy was too scared to tell him. Marcus had absolutely no clue why he couldn't come and speak to him like a normal human being. Except, he was clearly not a human being. No, he had cat-like little parts. Which, in most cases Marcus would think were actually kind of cute. If he wasn't completely annoyed with him.
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Maybe he didn't even need a cat. Maybe this was some sign from the universe that he shouldn't get a cat. He frowned over at him when he started to stammer back an answer. One that wasn't completely suspicious and didn't sound like a lie at all! Nope! Not one bit! He was clearly being completely honest and serious! Marcus didn't want to answer back so he glared back to the cats and furrowed his brows. He stood quietly near Luthe, his hands clenching inside his pockets, his eyes stuck to these cats in their cages. Lame. All he wanted was a cat. He supposed, in a way, he got one. It was standing next to him and trembling at it's tiny little height. But he didn't want him. He didn't want a person, because he hated people. This boy would not do.

Either way, Luthe felt as though he were drowning. Every glance he got at Marcus he regretted; the taller man looked mad, furious even. Oh, it was because of him, wasn't it? Marcus looked like one of the loner types, so his presence probably ruined that. That, and he might've walked in on a private moment, what with him staring at cats and all. Cats, he might add, that were pawing at the glass that separated him from them. Luthe felt his eye twitch, practically hearing their mewled begs for him to play with them. It was a cat thing, he guessed, all of them wanting to stick together.
Luthe bit his lip and rubbed his arm while glancing back at Marcus. Yeesh, he looked even angrier than normal. Ah, he... he knew when to get away from a fist zone. "U-Umm.... I, uh... The cats within the glass seemed to be incredibly interested in Luthe, which did kind of intrigue Marcus. He raised his gaze hesitantly to look over towards Luthe, nibbling on his bottom lip as he glanced from cats to neko. When he realized he might have been staring he looked quickly away, a bit of heat coming to Marcus' face. s**t. Why did he care about anything that had to do with this kid at all? He didn't. He didn't care at all. Marcus made sure not to look at him again, the heat in his face slightly increasing.
His narrowed little green eyes did happen to wander over when there was a stuttery voice from beside him. He wasn't entirely furious, not really. Agitated, sure. Annoyed, yes. But there was a look to his face that did tend to make him always look just a bit indignant, no matter the state of emotions he was in. As he looked at Luthe he paused for a moment, taking in every little bit of him he could before returning to the cats. "Alright." He murmured quietly, almost inaudibly, rubbing at his own tattooed arm as he trained his eyes to stay on the cats and not Luthe beside him. "Sorry for...yelling...at you." He managed out, only dropping his eyes to the floor, and not Luthe, with his makeshift apology. It wasn't entirely a genuine apology, but at least Marcus could sleep without wondering if maybe now this kid was scared of him.
Ugh. He hated apologizing.

That is, until he heard Marcus.
Stopping in his step, Luthe turned his head and blinked in surprise at the man that didn't bother looking back. For a second, Marcus seemed almost... nice. Well, nice wasn't really the correct term, but it was much nicer than what they had just been through!
"Umm..." was all the dumbfounded neko was able to make out. It took him a while to remember how to speak. "It was no problem, really." he said with a small smile, even if Marcus couldn't see it or not. Turning back around, he walked on a few more steps before stopping once more. "M-My name's Luthe, by the way." he said without turning around. Taking a deep breath, he walked out of the store and hurried to the parking lot, clenching his excited fists and smiling widely. He did it! He had an actual conversation with Marcus! He even stood next to him and caught his scent! Oh that cologne...

Marcus squeezed his eyes shut tightly as the boy ummed and stuttered, already wishing he had just kept his mouth shut. But after a moment he let them open and he glanced to Luthe just in time to see his big smile, Marcus chewing on the inside of his cheek nervously. He didn't tear his gaze away just yet and watched the boy stop again. Luthe. Luthe. What kind of name was that? He didn't say anything else, not like he could anyway (the boy was quickly making his way out of the store). Marcus hesitantly looked back to the cats.
He stared at them for about a minute more besides deciding he definitely should not get a cat. Too much work. He couldn't even work with humans well. Embracing this fact with a sigh, he ran a hand through his red hair and huffed quietly to himself before exiting the same way that Luthe did. Well, s**t. He would have to walk home, he left his van at his house and walked here. Now, he found he didn't have the energy for it. Nor did he even want to go back to his house. There'd be nothing to do but sit and ponder about why he didn't have a cat, (or a person) to share his space with. So he started off somewhere else, where he wouldn't have to be constantly plagued with his own thoughts.

He could drive, but he didn't own a car, and bikes and him didn't have a good history. But none of that mattered now, not when he just spoke to Marcus! He even told him his name, his name! Now whenever he accidentally caught the neko stalking him again, he wouldn't be all 'Ugh, it's that weird guy again', he'd be 'Ugh, it's that Luthe guy again'. Oh how the thought of hearing Marcus say his name made his heart flutter!
Turning his head to make sure his tail wasn't swishing around from his happy mood, Luthe paused suddenly at the sight of Marcus leaving the store. Oh, was he done already? The neko stared at him for a moment then turned around. Still no sign of the bus... Turning back, he bit his lip and chewed on it lightly as he weighed his options. He could go home and sleep well on the successful day he's had already, or add to it and follow Marcus now. What to do, what to do...?
