Fast "Vitania?" Fast called. "Are you here?" He was still unaccustomed to waking in a den that was not the one he had grown up in, and waking up there alone made him feel as if he was intruding. Even though he had been waking up in this not-his den for...well, a while. He wasn't quite sure how long he had been recuperating. He could ask, but he'd probably forget. Talking hurt since it required tensing the muscles that striped lion had slashed in their fight, but there was really no better way to call attention to his query. Or to make it, for that matter. He squeezed his eyes shut and swallowed, stopping himself from whimpering. Vitania The female had offered her den to the healing lion many moons ago. He was healing well, but he needed monitored in order to make sure he was okay. She had volunteered, finding herself feeling pretty useless otherwise. She had been out hunting, hoping to get to him before he woke. The hare firm in her maw, she closed her jaws tighter when she heard the cry of her name. Damn it, she had misjudged her time out. She began running, leaping up the stones that lead to her den. It was small, and modest, but it served well for the two. She dropped the hare at his paws, moving close to him, looking to see if he was okay. "I'm sorry, Fast.." She said, nosing the hare closer to him as she spoke. "I brought you some food. I figured you might wake up hungry." She trailed off a moment before smiling at him. "It's all yours too. I managed to find a nest, and they were pretty easy pickings."

Fast Seeing Vitania appear with a rabbit gripped in her teeth was enough to make Fast smile despite his discomfort. She presented an amusing image with the dead rabbit flopping from her mouth. The image didn't last long, though, as she soon dropped the animal and indicated that it was all his. He appreciated the gesture, but in the time he'd spent recovering he still hadn't quite gotten his appetite back. It hurt to eat. It hurt to do everything, really, and although Fast wouldn't admit it, he would rather go hungry and avoid pain than accept the alternative. "Thank you. I'll eat it later, if you don't mind." He tried not to look at her when he spoke. He was certain that if he did, she would be able to tell that he had fallen completely in love with her while she tended him. She was so kind and beautiful, it would have been impossible for him to do otherwise, but it was not the sort of thing a manly Stormborn reaver did. Even a Stormborn reaver who had his a** handed to him soundly nearly every time he got into a fight should not be so flowery as to moon over a lioness. Vitania "Eat whenever you want." She said softly, looking over him. She was no healer, she wasn't qualified for such. She probably never would be. But she was smart enough to know if he was getting worse when he was supposed to be getting better. She had seen his belly that night, and she was, quite frankly.. Surprised that he had survived the night. She was thankful though, she rather liked his company. This den was far lonelier with no one else in it. She hadn't realized he fell for her, she was rather naive that way. But she had certainly developed a fondness for him that hse hadn't been able to quite explain. She smiled at him, leaning in to nuzzle his cheek for comfort. "How are you feeling?" She felt it was a stupid question, and it probably was.. But a little progress could go a long way.

Fast So he'd be eating whenever she next left the den. He preferred not to have an audience when he winced and whimpered his way through his meal. The idea made his pride hurt just thinking about it. As a cub he wouldn't have minded so much, but that was when he had still tried to cling to his mother's flowery way of life. It was no good here, and he no longer believed in it. As such, he could not bring himself to allow someone to see him showing pain. "I'm fine," he lied, like he did every time she asked. It was the answer he was expected to give, as a reaver. "I'll probably be out of your den tomorrow." He said that every time, too. "So, I'm sure I've already asked this, but how long have I been here?" There was no earthly reason why he shouldn't be able to remember that piece of information, except that apparently his brain didn't feel it was important enough to remember. Perhaps it was because being reminded of how slowly he was healing, and how little it bothered him, also reminded him that he was not behaving much like a Stormborn lately. He'd have to do something about that. Vitania He was a proud lion, she had learned that much in the time they had spent together. She knew he was in a great deal of pain, yet he tried hard not to show it. Sometimes she would catch a wince, and she would purposely look away, so if he looked up hoping she hadn't seen it..well..he would be at ease. She hadn't been from a flowery family herself.. No.. Her mother had constantly pointed her towards her brother which was how it was in her old pride. She was happy to be gone, though she had no idea her brother was actually residing in the pride she was. It was a truly, truly small world. The first few times he had said he would be out of her den by the morrow, she had felt saddened. She hadn't been sure why, but she supposed it had everything to do with the fact that she had a friend now.. Even if he was probably only her friend because he wasn't likely going to get away from her anytime soon. She had come to know to blow off the him leaving thing for now though. He was hurt, and he was no where near healed. She lay next to him, using her warmth on him. "You've been here about a week..more or less." She said, though it was pretty spot on to seven moons. "I'm glad you are feeling better though. I really worried about you there for a bit." She said with a soft smile as she gazed at him.

Fast "More or less?" he repeated warily. "Are we talking more more or more less?" He knew he was lucky to be alive at all, given the severity of the injuries he bore, but that didn't make him any more bothered by how long it was taking him to heal. Not that he was in any great hurry to get away from Vitania, but he would prefer her to see and think of him in health and vigor rather than weak and wounded. In his present state, he knew he couldn't be attractive to a Stormborn female, and he did want to attract Vitania. "Nothing to worry about. Just some insides taking in some fresh air," he joked. He didn't laugh at his own joke because that would have hurt like balls, but he did grin. Unlike his father, his grins weren't goofy and carefree. "Does my family know?" he asked. He didn't think he'd asked this before. Now that he was eating less mint to dull the pain his mind was a lot clearer. "Do they know where I am, that is?" Vitania She smiled at him gently. Oh the poor dear. He was so determined to be such a hardass. She loved the heart in him, because he hated seeing himself this way. She nosed him softly, before chuckling. "It's only been 7 moons." She said, standing to retrieve the old skull she had found. She had filled it with water, and had been really gentle about carrying it home the other day. She had't wanted it to spill, but he hadn't drunk all of it when she had brought it to him. So she gently placed it at his paws. "You should drink. You don't have to eat, but make sure not to let yourself go too long without water, okay?" She said, mothering him. She liked caring for him. She supposed she was rather good at it, but he was just someone she liked being around regardless. She had no idea he found her attractive, but she found him attractive. The needing her aspect of the healing was particularly enticing. She liked caring for him. It showed a softer side, that most Stormborn didn't posess. But she wasn't going to embarass him by telling him so. She tried remembering his visitors, thinking back on if she had seen any that had introduced htemselves as family. She remembered some that looked like they were related.. But they hadn't said they were blood. "There were some that looked like you stop by right after. They were pleased when I told them you had survived. Though they didn't tell me their relations I'm afraid."

Fast Fast refrained from mentioning to her that her units of measurement were confusing him. He had always been raised to use the term moon to refer to a full cycle of the moon, dark to dark, and a week was about a quarter of that time. Instead he accepted the water she offered and drank obediently. It wasn't taking orders. It was slaking thirst. "You're mothering me," he informed her with some embarrassment. "I'm fine." Also while he liked being close to her, it was just a little awkward to have her doing things for him. A lion, Stormborn or not, ought to do things for his female, not the other way around. It was one of the aspects of Stormborn culture he had never really adopted, that females were thought of as if they should serve males. This did not extend to thralls, naturally. They were servants after all. Slaves, really. "Probably my cousin-things. There are a lot of them. I'm glad they know I'm alive." They were never going to let him live this down. Not ever. Maybe they'd found the b*****d lion who'd done this to him and avenged him though. That was a nice thought. Vitania She sat down, and nodded, a blush tinging her cheeks. She knew he was proud, and her mothering annoyed him. But she really couldn't help herself. He needed her help even if he was loathe to admit it. She smiled softly. "I'm sorry, Fast..I just want to make sure you stay fine." She said with a nod. "I should know you are a big tough Stormborn and can handle yourself." She said, merely to appease him. But her face was tinged with a grin, as if she were teasing him just a little. She'd never outright make fun of him, but sometimes he was silly, and she couldn't help herself with that either. "If they return I will let them in." She answered. "But you were passed out from pain when they arrived, and I didn't think they needed to see you like that... Well.. That and I didn't think you needed to have to deal with visitors." She was pleased when he drank some of the water though. Her tail curled around her paws, so she could refrain from trying to mother him more.

Fast "I appreciate that." He really did. His cousin-things were good lions, good Stormborn, but they would not be able to resist making fun of him once they knew he was in no danger. He didn't need to give them any more fuel for that. "I appreciate what you're doing for me, too. If there's any way I can repay you, I will do it." The water had helped, but he was feeling sleepy again. All that mint. He was chewing less of it, but less was still a lot, and although he was building something of a tolerance to its inebriating effects, it still made him sleepy. "Perhaps after I've taken a nap." Vitania "You get better, and that will be repayment enough." She chuckled. She didn't need to be repaid. She was getting to have someone to talk to. It wasn't often she had friends, mainly because she usually kept to herself. Not that she was unfriendly, but she just usually went about her life in her own way. "I'm happy to help, really. I like having the company." She admitted, before nodding to him. She had been bringing him the mint leaves, hoping they would work in easing some of the pain. They seemed to do a decent enough job, but she noticed they usually made him excessively tired. "Sleep well, Fast. I'll be here when you wake up, if you need me." She said softly, smiling at him wiht that warm smile she had begun to use only for him.
