Nefertari had awoken rather early in the morning--which wasn't really that uncommon for her to do--and looked around her den that she shared with her mate Ulimi'Siri. It seemed that their meeting had been a fateful one because ever since they'd never separated. Nefertari certainly wasn't complaining as she'd found the love of her life and they understood everything about each other. No matter how tough things may get they always made it through, because they loved each other enough to not things bother them. Even when some of Ulimi's past had sprung up on them. It hadn't been to long ago that everything had happened with that, but Nefertari certainly wasn't holding it over his head anymore and admittedly was a little happy to have some experience with a cub. Well, she was happy Ulimi had experience because at the time she was rather distant to the cub. Not cruel but she certainly made no attempt to fit the "mothering" role.
"Ulimi my love, wake up." Nefertari said with a gentle tone as she nudged his cheek with her nose to rouse him. Just like her, Ulimi was an early riser, however, today Nef seemed to have taken the lead in waking up first. The young lioness had to admit that she wouldn't mind letting him sleep in if he wanted to, just not today. Today Nefertari wanted to explore their new home some more and bring up the discussion of trying for cubs. Yes up until now they'd talked about it but Nefertari decided she was ready to actually start trying. Poor Ulimi, his mate already had their whole day planned out for them and most of it consisted of "the talk."

Today was a pretty unusual day for the large, bulky, and particular lion. He had apparently overslept, or at least overslept by his and Neffy's standards. By now the two would have been up for at least an hour, looking for some food. Or doing something else just as meaningful, but today Nef was rustling him awake. He was embarrassed to say the least. Though not embarrassed to be seen doing it, he was more worried that he had allowed himself to slack.
He stirred lazily for a moment, trying to focus on the new surroundings. You'd think it wouldn't be so difficult for him to accustom to the change, since the two had been rogue for so long. But now, as he lay there, he found himself feeling foreign in what was meant to be his own home. "Mmmrrrrrmmm" He grumbled, rolling himself off of his side and onto his belly. He stretched his body straight out in front and behind and yawned.
"What is it Neffy?" He questioned softly, blinking radically to adjust his eyes to the daytime hours. "I overslept didn't I? Shameful!" He nearly growled his final word, as he pushed himself up to his feet to give his mate a loving nuzzle.
"Good morning beautiful, how was your sleep?"

The young lioness couldn't help but smile lovingly at her mate as she watched him slowly wake up. She knew he would be dismayed by the fact that he had woken up after her but the excitement she had was just far too great for her to contain. It was rare for her to wake up earlier then him but if it had been any other day that this had happened Nefertari probably would have just curled herself back up against her mate and let sleep take her until he awoke. "It's not your fault Ulimi." She said with a purr while returning the nuzzle. Nefertari couldn't help but pause at his next question. It was too soon to tell him about her thoughts, he had only just woken up after all.
"I just had a lot of things I wanted us to do today." At this remark Nefertari winked, hoping that it would peak his interest. Not that he hadn't ever followed her before, well, under normal circumstances. She gently licked his cheek before she took a few steps towards the den entrance. It was weird to have a permanent home and not be forced to move for one reason or another. "That is, if you would like to join me." Her voice was sweet and playful. That wasn't to say she didn't have a bundle of nerves forming in her chest and stomach. Ulimi and her had talked about having cubs together one day, however, did that mean he was ready for it to be today? Or rather, soon? Nefertari was unsure on how to bring the topic up but she was determined by the days end to tell her mate whom she loved with every fiber of her being that she was ready to have his cubs. No pressure or anything.

He of course heard her reassuring words, but they did little to comfort him. He loved her with his every being. But he knew all too well how often she would sugar coat things, so that he wouldn't tear himself to pieces. Naturally, he would never tell her this to her face, but he knew it all the same. "When is it ever my fault my love?" He muttered against her loving nuzzle, returning it in kind, through his bleary eyes.
"Mmmmrrrr sounds intriguing .." He remarked, at first having not taken much notice of her wink. But once he did, his ears perked, and his own eyes widened a bit in suspense. Typically she wasn't the suspenseful type, so when she did something like this ... one was expected to dangle onto the thread she offered them .... "Now what was that wink about? I saw it y'know! Don't pretend you didn't wink at me!" He purred as he received her gentle lick, watching her as she took her steps across the den. She was to something .... But his head in too much of a fog for the pieces to come together just yet.
'That is, if you would like to join me.'
Her final words caught him off guard, and Ulimi tilted his head to the left in confusion to her words. Slowly he took steps forward to rejoin her acoss the den once more.
"My dear, when have I ever not been willing to join you?"
At her mates remark about it never being his fault she couldn't help but smile. She could only flash him a wider grin when he realized she had winked at him. It was true that she didn't often deploy this tactic but Ulimi was far too smart for his own good at times and she very much wanted her talk with him to be a surprise. Thus using methods she often wouldn't seemed the best route to take. "Maybe I did." She purred playfully. "Or maybe you're still half asleep dear." Nefertari giggled. This was turning out to be a little amusing to the lioness. Far more than it should have been at least.
Nefertari looked over to her mate as he joined her at the entrance. "When have I ever woken up before you for a talk?" She tacked on. Her demeanor showed that the talk would not be something he would have to worry about, however, Nefertari knew her mate well enough to know that he would anyways. Hopefully when she led him far enough off so that they could talk and go on a date, so to speak, he would feel more reassured. "Let's go then dear." Nefertari flashed him a grin once more before quickly walking out of the den but making sure to keep an even pace.

Her demeanor was normal, nothing out of the ordinary there. Just a tad bit of playfulness thrown in, which wasn't exactly something she never did. Though to have her so happy and playful this early in the morning? Nothing was going to convince him she wasn't up to something, but for now he would smile and walk. Enjoying the time he could spend with her, before his guard duty shooed him away to a more appropriate setting. Or at least, what the pride deemed a more appropriate setting. For him, this here, walking with her, in silence, merely enjoying one another's company was the perfect setting for him.
He hummed to the two of them lightly as they walked, insanely curious but knowing better than to ask her any questions. She might be a lightweight sometimes, but when it came to surprises and fun - Nefertari took herself seriously.
As the two of them finally slowed to a stop, he paused right beside Nefertari's own paws. Looking curiously over to her, he gave her a friendly smile. "Alright then, we're here I take it?" He mused with a chuckle, slowly pulling him rear under himself and taking a seat. "A penny for your thoughts?"
As they walked quietly next to each other, Nefertari could feel her heart beating just as intensely as it had since she first met and fell in love with Ulimi. No matter how much time passed, he was everything to her. Now that she was ready to start a family it gave her a rush of excitement and joy to be embarking on this experience with him. When Ulimi began to hum she couldn't help but faintly smile. She knew that he was probably going crazy since she hadn't told him what was on her mind but he didn't pressure her. It felt good to be loved so much by him and she did everything possible to return it.
After some time of walking they finally made it to the destination, somewhat close to the pride's border where she knew they wouldn't be bothered. She had begun to get lost in her own thoughts when Ulimi pulled her back. Nefertari smiled. "Maybe later." She giggled. Nefertari turned herself towards her mate and sat down, her paw resting on his. "I know it's probably driven you a little crazy." She smiled for a moment. "There's something I've been thinking about recently but first I wanted to know how you liked it here. If you felt like this was home." Nefertari chose her words a little carefully, making sure that it was clear that she just wanted to know his feelings. Not that she herself was uncomfortable. However, if they were to be bringing cubs into the world, well, she wanted to make sure Ulimi was just as happy with their new home as she was. Granted, the pride was just a small part of it. She could have honestly lived in a den out in the roguelands for the rest of her life so long as she had him there.

So she was going to continue to dangle the mystery out before him was she? Ohhh he was going to get her back for this, mark his words! He didn't know how, but mark his words he would get her back! Listening to her giggles, seemed to soothe his inner beast and his nerves died down long enough for him to relax. Relax enough to realize Nefertari wasn't stressed, she was enjoying this day just as she would any other. So then that must meant that nothing was wrong, she was just toying with him! Right?
Ulimi eyed his mate suspiciously for a moment, before snorting at himself for being so ridiculous. "A little crazy?" He asked, again giving her a skeptic eye. There was definitely something going on, and perhaps she was finally going to spill the beans! He leaned in closer, his toes nearly on edge as he hoped for her to reveal her secrets! But instead she simply added on to the mystery. Perplexed, the male cocked his head to the side in confusion. That was a pretty strange question to ask, but if she really wanted to know it he would tell her.
"I think its a fine home, perhaps not the best place to sleep in sometimes ... but most assuredly a fine place to live at other hours of the day. Given the other places I have lived both with and without you - I would say this is probably one of the best." Pausing for a moment, he looked over to Nefertari for a moment with confusion. "Why? Is there something about it that you don't like? Should we leave?"

Poor Ulimi, I have no idea how he would react, but I would love to RP it out and see!
It took a lot of strength for Nefertari to hold her laughter in as she watched her mate torture himself further from what she just said. She hadn't intended to cause him more frustration but it would be a lie to say that she didn't enjoy it, just a little. Nefertari knew it wasn't nice in the least but she couldn't help herself. Ulimi was just too cute when he toiling over something. Well, he was cute all the time. "I'm sorry dear." A tiny giggle did manage to escape but she quickly bit her lip and tried to cover it up.
Nefertari took a moment to let his words sink in. So he enjoyed his life here, thus far. He didn't seem to have any desire to leave and as far as the schedule went, it was a little difficult to get used to. Especially since he was a guard and up at all hours of the day and night depending on his duties. Not that Nefertari didn't have times where her schedule was a little crazy, but it was no where near as bad as her mates. "No, no. Nothing like that." She inhaled and then looked her mate in the eyes. Trying to convey not only with her words and movements her feelings, but her very emotions. "We've talked about it a lot lately but. . . " Nefertari paused. "I think I'm--we're ready to start a family." Her purple eyes focused on his blue one's, trying to read him as she waited for him to respond. It would be life changing. Literally.

She was getting weirder and weirder by the second, he could not only sense her growing frustration but her emotions were written all over her body. He wasn't going to bring it to her attention though, it would probably worsen the stress of whatever it was that was on her mind. Instead her merely cocked his head slightly to the side and waited. She refused his question of leaving, so apparently she was content here, just as she was when they'd arrived. That was a relief, he'd grown accustomed to his routine now, and while he didn't like his sporadic hours, he was dedicated to them at this point.
"Well... if it isn't that, what is it? And you can't keep putting me off dear, I know something is bothering you." His eyes glared down a bit to an accusatory stare and he focused his attention upon her. Perhaps if coaxing wans't going to do the trick, a good ole portion of 'guilt trip' would do it,
For a bit, she continued to dance around the topic, but at least she seemed to be breaking. He held onto her every word, even leaning in closer, to the point of toppling over. She was just about to say it .... just one more word....
"I think I'm--we're ready to start a family."
The words took the male entirely off guard and he lost his footing, toppling over right onto his belly. Causing tiny tornadoes of dust to swirl around him. As he lay there, lost in his own thoughts, he had no idea what to say or what to do. Moving was off the table! All he could was lie motionless as he gathered his thoughts.
She was finally ready?! Was this happening?! He could finally have the family he'd always wanted with her? This was a good thing right? He would have children to raise, children to love. Children to bring up, and a new life for the both of them.
'Snap out of it Ulimi'
He heard a small voice in his mind fussing for him to respond to his mate. It was right, he had to do something. Pulling himself to his senses, he found his knees still too weak to stand. But he looked up into her eyes, with all the happiness he could muster, the beginning of some tears forming in his eyes.
"I thought you'd never ask," He smiled faintly. "Let's do it then, let's start our family, Love."
