Just a few days had passed from her previous challenge, but the male (whose name she hadn't actually asked for) hadn't really delt any heavy duty injuries to her. He'd scratched her, granted, but she'd taken care of the wounds, cleansed them out, tended to them; they posed absolutely no risk. She'd had no torn muscles, no broken bones.... and the few scratches head healed up and scarred over. She wasn't sure if they'd leave a mark down the line or not, but all things considered, she was fit to fight again, and given that Kenna was nothing if not stubborn, she decided it was time to give it another go.
A real go.
She'd practiced with a rogue or two, but she'd noticed something was lacking in the fight; she figured it had to do with having grown up in this pride. That most of the rogues seeking to join were as new to the terrain as she was, and thus, the practice was not the same. Not by a long shot.
The best way to really 'practice', was probably to just keep on trying. The good, old-fashioned bullheaded, stubborn way to do things; Kenna grinned to herself as she approached the border. Aaaahhh... her father had a hard time ironing out her bullheadedness for sure, and even with his strict, iron fist, he'd not managed to completely extinguish it from within the lioness' soul. Sometimes, back home, she'd found she liked to be contrary, just for the sake of being so; sometimes, digging your heels in the ground made for interesting results.
Likewise, she figured that charging in with initiative was bound to reap such results on a case to case basis. That in mind, she stood by the barrier once more and roared out a challenge. Mogami That was better, Kenna. Let's see if luck is on your side this time.

Lesedi had a feeling Kenna would be returning soon but he had no idea when that would be. He now realized that it was not soon enough. The wound over his eye had left a deep scar that no longer bled but itched at the most inopportune times and it was a good reminder that he shouldn’t let his guard down around that particular orange lioness (maybe he should’ve made an exception and asked for her name). He was given a few other scratches but nothing that bothered him as much as that one little wound that he hoped to be able to repay her in kind.
When he heard her roar, the reaver jumped to his paws and quickly made his way to her location, hoping that no other lions on patrol would reach the orange the orange before he had a chance to accept her challenge.
“You again.” He said slowly as if he hadn’t expected to see her there. Lightning lit up the cloudy sky for a second and the sky roared ominously shortly after. Lesedi grinned. “Let’s fight, Outlander.”

The challenge was answered rather swiftly, which meant that the approaching male had either been waiting for it, or nearby. Something in the back of Kenna's mind told her it was the former rather than the later, and something in the male's tone when he spoke up only seemed to confirm it. She hoped she was right in her asumption, if only because it meant that he was as eager to have another go at her and she'd been to have another go at him.
And this... this right here was what she'd been missing back home. The thrill of finding a worthy opponent, the joy it brought her to let go and fight. Really fight for something, for sports even. It wasn't so much that the Firekin did not fight as the fact she'd been spending her time using her words, and not her claws, given her position.
Kenna had missed this.
This time, rather than answer him with a curt, polite nod, she offered him a grin; they weren't friend, but she already felt she knew this one far better than she'd come to know some of her old pride mates. One fight, and she could more or less determine key points of his personality; she had no doubt the veteran in front of her could do likewise with her.
Shoving such thoughts out of her mind, she allowed it to go blank for a moment and then prepared herself for battle, her frame lowering somewhat against the rock, all her claws unsheathed in an attempt to keep her grip on the slippery surface, and this time... she bid her time, letting him come to her.
She wanted to see how he did it; wanted to mimic his technique. The best way to learn was to watch and copy what an expert did, after all. And so, she circled him, keeping a sharp eye on the muscles of his back legs, his fore arms and his face.

She looked different somehow.
That was Lesedi’s first thought when he saw the orange lioness. Something in her eyes was different and her whole demeanor seemed to show that she had already fully adjusted to the terrain and was ready to earn her place amongst the Stormborn lions. Well, the green-eyed reaver wasn’t planning on making it easy for her.
He almost told her his name but Kenna’s grin broke his momentum. The male couldn't help but to mirror her grin with the same kind of predatory anticipation as he realized that no words – no names, no greetings, nothing – were necessary at that moment. He let out a little amused snort and took up the space she was giving him, quickly closing the distance between the two fighters and attempting to throw his entire weight against the lioness’ shoulder.

It was absolutely delightful, to watch someone that knew what they were doing; the way he moved towards her proved the slippery beneath him wasn't even a part of the equation. He moved over it like she'd moved over the desert dunes, and Kenna found it absolutely fascinating. Here, right here was proof that maybe, just maybe, Firekin traditionalism had been wrong in part. She'd have loved to see some of those lions, who so firmly believed the color of their pelts made them better, stronger, worthier... attempt to win at one of these challenges.
Strength was not in color. It was in something else.
She waited for him to come to her, fully anticipating the blow and charging right back into him, attempting to shove herself under his front side to shove him off balance or throw him back. Force, she could meet with force; all she had to do was brace herself for the pain it'd cause, and shield her more delicate face and throat. She wanted to get at his belly; that was a clear weak spot.
That and his face, but for now, the underside seemed to be more accessible.

His shoulder slam didn’t work as intended but as the reaver was forced to back away from the sheer brunt force of her counter something in Lesedi’s eyes said that he hadn’t really expected it to anyway. It didn’t matter how many of his attacks failed to connect with Kenna’s body. At that point he was just too excited about testing every angle of what he could tell was a seasoned fighter. For a moment there, he actually forgot she was a female. His eyes narrowed as his growl grew louder but a ghost of the original grin was still there as he continued to test the lioness.
He had a feeling she was planning something so he didn’t waste time to make a second attempt, this time he aimed at her forelegs, his mouth open as if ready to catch anything that happened to come his way.

((I have ooc permission from Fey to 'end' this rp and count it as done @_@ due to poor Mog having irl issues))
The terrain wasn't giving her quite as much trouble this time, thankfully, and deep in the inner crevices of her mind, Kenna smirked; she'd managed to overcome a challenge, and there was such pleasure in knowing that, that the lioness even budge when the male's mouth scraped her forearm. She hooped back, her claws scraping the slippery, wet surface of the rock below as she considered her opponent.
He wasn't really giving her much opening; however, she figured that a lack of opening might offer her one too. Her bulk matched his, and thus, after just the flash of the thought passed through her mind, the large lioness snarled our loud and shoved her body against him, allowing her bulk to take his attacks as she tried to throw him off balance. He seemed so into the fight, so into hurting her, that Kenna figured perhaps he'd be distracted enough for her to catch him by surprise; use the terrain which had made her withdraw from the previous fight to her advantage.
Another shove was issued, followed by a swipe of her paws, aiming at his legs in an attempt to throw the male off balance. It wasn't until the male stepped into a puddle, however, the his back leg lost it's grip though; she lost no time at all, throwing her full weight against him, shoving him away at that precise moment. Kenna only allowed herself a small smile when the male skidded away a few feet.
"I believe this one's mine," she told him frankly, her head tilting to one side before she bowed it a few notches. The male did not stop her when she passed by his side, and into the territory, so she took the silence as approval.
