♥ 10/03/13 - Well right now Soquili is on hold... so it looks like the event is going to be cancelled for now. Applications are still open, but I'm not sure what's going on at the moment for big plots!

What's Expected

♥ In this herd, the members are strongly devoted to the idea of a loving family--no one with a good heart is left out and all types of Soquili are accepted.

♥ No rude behavior will be tolerated. If you are caught demonstrating unruly behavior towards other members, friends, allies, or other respected beings, you will be swiftly dealt with by either Crisanto or Kanani.

♥ This is a peace-loving herd. No evil Soquili or those with less-than-worthy intentions will be allowed to join and will quickly become enemies if they dare mess with any herd members. Those with a small amount of questionable blood but a peaceful mindset may still be allowed to join if the alpha or protector judge them to be of true purpose.

♥ Haven has a strong bond with nature. Future members must be able to accept living in a valley surrounded by mountains. It's difficult to get to if you don't have wings, but it was chosen for its safety. Those who are abusive to nature or have no love for other living organisms will not find a place in this herd.

The herd's totem is of Mother Willow. She is bendable with her thoughts and opinions while at the same time standing strong and sturdy in her beliefs. She lends support to those who need her, sheltering them in her branches.

The Hidden Entrance

When Crisanto found this valley, he immediately wanted to share it with Kanani and to make it their home. It was so secluded and safe feeling, and he felt it would be the perfect place to raise a family. Since Kanani couldn't fly, he spent days trying to find a path through the mountains that was easy enough for her to get through. There weren't any foot trails to speak of, so he explored every cave he could find in the mountains connected to the valley, but many of them were too small or dead ends. Finally he went through one that led him to a waterfall, where the entrance to the cave was perfectly hidden. The trip through the cave takes two full days.

Being that the valley is surrounded by mountains on all sides, foals are not able to leave, even if they can fly - they need to develop their muscles more before they can take on such a strenuous journey.

The Lower Valley
Meetings and rituals are held here unless specified to be in a different place. The totem is also kept here so the herd can pray or leave offerings.


The Upper Valley
This is the main meeting ground of Haven. Crisanto and Kanani can be found here most of the time, watching over the other herd members or deciding upon important issues. The small pond serves as both drinking and swimming water and is clear as crystal. The glade provides soft grasses for grazing.

Spring Equinox
Spring has finally arrived! The herd celebrates the earth becoming a green place once again - the coming of warmth and beauty. New plants that are coming up are carefully watched and tendered so that they don't fall prey to a late frost. They also share news of any current engagements in the herd or pregnancies that may have occurred. They also have a song they sing to celebrate the new year.

The Wheel of the Year turns once more,
and the vernal equinox arrives.
Light and dark are equal,
and the soil begins to change.
The earth awakes from its slumber,
and new life springs forth once more.


Summer Solstice
On the night of the Summer Solstice, the herd gathers to celebrate the warmth and beauty of the sun. They gather tender fruits and sprouts and lay them in a banquet-like style in the main gathering spot of Haven. Colorful flowers are gathered by the younger members and arranged in random yet beautiful patterns around the gathered nourishment. The herd shares the gathered food and gives thanks to the spirits for the blessings of food and warmth. After the feasting, older members may tell stories or sing songs. The younger members are encouraged to join in as time passes, or can play other games among themselves.


Fall Equinox
Fall is a time of plenty - the herd has a feast of apples, acorns and other seasonal dainties to celebrate the bounty of autumn. Preparations for the winter are also made by storing the excess food and gathering leaves for warm bedding. Foals (and some of the young at heart adults) adorn themselves in silly costumes for the festivities. There is also spooky story telling.


Winter Solstice
The Winter Solstice is celebrated by the gathering of pines branches and holly leaves, which are used to decorate the gathering area of Haven. Gifts are exchanged between friends, family, and lovers. The herd asks the spirits for the spring to come as soon as it can.

There's something stirring in the air - an uneasy restlessness that the whole herd feels. They don't know exactly what's going on, but have sent Aonani and Kamokito to scout the nearby areas for any strange activity.

Scouting Mission

Aonani and Kamokito get back to the herd with sad and disturbing news. There's a new Kalona herd invading the lands, trying to destroy everything in their path. Many Soquili have perished already and everyone is frightened. They need to decide whether they are going to help the fight against this new enemy, or try to keep safe in the valley. The decision needs to be made quickly, before the choice is taken away from them.

What Should We Do?

♥ Once again, I would like to remind you that no evil Soquili or those with evil intentions will be allowed to join the herd. This herd is for peaceful members only. However, if your Soquili possesses small traits of violent breeds (such as Kalona horns or fangs or a small mutant trait) but is of worthy attitude and intentions, they will still be able to join after consulting either the herd alpha or protector.

♥ The herd is open to all types of peace-loving and family-oriented Soquili. However, the Soquili must be willing to obey their leaders and do what is best for the herd despite their own feelings. Their input will always be considered, and advice will be listened to, but only if it is reasonable and beneficial to the herd. Loyalty is expected, and love will be received.

♥ A Soquili may leave the herd grounds any time if they wish to adventure or just need to get away for awhile. However, Soquili gone for more than one year will be moved to honorary members; another year after that it will be assumed that they have left the herd for good.

♥ OOC--If you join the herd, please be prepared for plotting and some RP. It's not required, but we're trying to create an active community for the members of the herd.

♥ If you wish to join, please PM your request to Kirowyn Love. Include the cert of your Soquili, a bit of their personality, and why they want to join. You can also explain how they would come to the herd, for RP may not be provided for every initiation. Kiro will be get back to you ASAP. Once your Soquili is accepted they will be added to the list.
