[1v1] All is Quiet (Ruth vs Circe)

Ah the Gym, Ruth found she quite enjoyed hanging out here to watch students. Spars and fights (especially the impromptu kind) were her absolute favorite. She herself had yet to engage in either since her enrollment but that wasn't such a bad thing, was it? The first year ghoul thought that getting in the sparring area should feel a little daunting, but she strut into it like it was no big deal. A part of her thought she should have donned shades to complete the look. Not that it would be obvious beneath the bill of her cap, unless she opted for those comically over sized ones. The paranoia agent thought it would spoil the look.

Still, she was in the center of it all, somewhat disappointed that there were no students to watch. But maybe she can still make use of her solitude by getting in some practice of her own?

The days of intense studying had passed and Circe had come out a second year, ready and in the prime of her spirit to spar. Circe had went to the gym almost every day before recently, and as soon as she walked through the doors and smelt the sweet smell of sweat the ghoul could have melted right then into oblivion. Her pitch black eyes scanned the room which seemed to be mostly deserted except for a ghoul who was wearing a hat. A hat? Circe herself wasn't too drawn to the idea of wearing such a thing on her head but then again she wasn't into majority of the clothing items other ghouls were. It was her personal philosophy that less was always more. Maybe that was why she didn't wear shoes? Okay, maybe not.

"Hello!" Circe greeted the ghoul as she approached, scanning Ruth with each step she took. Ruth didn't seem to have a familiar face which could have meant a lot of things. It had been a while since Circe had last been to the gym to spar. When was that? Her spar with AJ? Yeah, it had been far too long. "Looking for a sparring partner?"

It didn't. XD I figured it would be okay to have Circe as her newly appointed Y2 status so she could be a proper teacher? I can always have her use Y1 stats if you'd prefer? c:

The blonde ghoul tilted her head towards the newly arrived student, someone she didn't know? That wasn't particularly important to Ruth, she didn't know a lot of students so what was one more? At first, the reaper thought she was going to have to vamoose, half-expecting to be told to get her first year a** out of the gym so the older, wiser, better students can spar or train all proper. So when the older ghoul asked her if she was looking for a partner, Ruth was surprised. She was also mildly disappointed she wouldn't get to show some defiance but the agent knew better than to express this sentiment.

Instead, her lips pulled into an ear-to-ear grin, wordlessly nodding while she summoned her weapon. Ruth seemed keen to get down to business, sure it was likely she was going to get her a** schooled but that was the way life worked, and she wouldn't begrudge people who rolled with life's punches. She rested the long, steel pipe across her shoulders as she bounced lightly on the balls of her sneaker-clad feet. Formal introductions can be made later, or never, Ruth was good with that too~

No prob! Y2 stats for Circe are cool OuOb although if the fight lasts super short, could we also have a bit of convo with Ruth pantomiming her responses?

So there was the possibility for Circe to be stunned. For a moment she stood there and wondered if the ghoul had heard her but then the scythe was a clear indicator that she was indeed looking to spar. Needless to say that got Circe's blood boiling in her veins. So this was a fight of few words? She could handle that. Maybe. Sparring was all about honing your skills and seeing what your fists could do. "That's fine with me." Circe said, taking up the stance to fight. She moved herself closer to the other ghoul and tried to size her up. After having been in many spars before she knew that the appearance of an opponent did not equate to their skill level. It had been a hard lesson at times. Circe was very good at making assumptions and deciding creeple's worth by how they looked.

Circe still made no move to attack but she bridge the gap that had been between them and positioned herself on the mat, her stance remaining as it had before. Her scythe--needles--had not been summoned, they rarely were, and it seemed like she was going to just go in kicking and punching. Which was also probably a highly likely possibility.

From beneath the bill of her cap, Ruth quirked a brow at the other ghoul's stance. Not that the older ghoul would be able to tell as the agent's posture remained the same, content to let her opponent come to her. She was, however, confused and the only hint of it was in the slight cant of her head. The other ghoul was a reaper, wasn't she? There was no weapon or familiar in sight, or was Ruth up against someone so skilled in close-quarter-combat they didn't need their magic? Or had Ruth misjudged a demon who only resembled a reaper?

Either one was an exciting possibility, one she couldn't wait to see play out. Every new experience was welcomed to the paranoia agent. There was a saying about Age going before Beauty, but Ruth's opponent had both. In this case, she took her cap off as she bowed, her bangs hiding the fact she was still keeping an eye on the older ghoul while providing her with an opening for an attack.
