Ataji had been....well, gone suggested he had been out on a Viking, but the truth was he'd just been solitary, struggling with the resurgence of his beserker nature. He'd taken a few raids and such also - you couldn't stay a captain without keeping up appearances, after all - but he was struggling with the changes in the pride. Why should females be less than males? It stank to him of injustice, of judging on appearances - but he wasn't the warlord and so he just kept quiet about it. At the moment he was sunning himself on a flat rock near the shore, the scraps of a meal littered around the rock's base, still thinking.

TanuKyle Ahaha, finally xd ;; Work both RL and on Gaia had me distracted... And ADHD >3>;
CREEPY daughters was more like it, and-- Amaranth stopped, growling as she plopped down and began to scratch, before tumbling over and crashing into another lion. She didn't pay attention at first, making sure her package was still secure, before she realized she'd crashed into one of the captains. "Oh! I'm sorry, sir! I didn't see you there!" Not that it was easy to when one was scratching.

Andranis I am the worst I'm sorry. unu;; Ataji would love to know who'd brought the fleas into the pride, he mused as the scratching female came his way. Whoever it was was due two things - a good dunking in the sea and a bake in the sun to kill the mites, and then a good pulping for bringing them back in the first place. Yes. A good clean fight ...with emphasis on clean. As he wandered off mentally he turned his attention from the lioness - at least until she crashed right into him, toppling him off his perch. He managed to land on all four paws , and keep the other upright by gently nudging her with his large skull. He grinned sympathetically as he saw her scratching. "Suffering are we? Try a bath in the sea followed by a sunbathe on the rocks. For whatever reason it seems to kill the little blighters." There was no response to her apology ; whether that was a good or bad thing was up for debate.

Ataji hummed low in his throat ; not quite a growl and not quite a purr. "Curiosity." The way he spoke the word gave almost no clues either, but there was a sense of judgement in the word - good or bad was perhaps again left off - but if one were to listen closely they could perhaps find wistfulness there. He eyed Amaranth frankly, and spoke, each word weighed quietly before it exited his maw. Not laid-back as his slow speech would initially suggest, but instead a tight control.
"I am struggling with my thoughts."

The dark lioness' ear flicked as she frowned, listening to him. The words were short, but they seemed to speak volumes. It left her wondering what his thoughts were about, but she hadn't the presence of bravery to ask. She bowed her head, ears folding back. "Forgive me, I stepped out of my place a moment there... It's hard to keep in mind sometimes, after..." She stopped. "I should not bore you with my own thoughts, my lord."
